She picked to pay those bills by working for an administration that stood against everything I value and is why we're where we literally are today. I can be happy she's testifying and still think she's crappy for working there in the first place.

But, let me be clear. I don’t think she’s a hero for doing what’s right.

But she’s 25. There is a huge power differential. And she still testified more clearly and powerfully than people at much higher levels than she is in the face of witness tampering and threats. She heard Meadows and Trump say they weren’t going to stop the insurrectionists from hanging Pence and she still showed up, did not take the fifth, and gave the most damning testimony of anyone so far.

That counts for something.

I think of her like Pence. Doing the bare minimum and getting lauded for it. Neither is a hero. They're magascum. They did one right thing once, probably under duress.

yea. there is a reason they decided on this last minute hearing. Most are speculating it is for security reasons, and after Liz Cheney showed the examples of witness tampering by trump's people, I 100% believe she has been threatened and absolutely needs to increase her personal security. and she STILL decided to testify in front of millions of eyes, including trump's. I'm totally ok with giving her props for that.

I agree with this. And I am just speculating but maybe this event and the aftermath has to the ability to push her away from the GOP. I might be naive but I am hoping that there are some more moderate Rs that are not full MAGA that becoming more aware of what the party has become and may move more left in their voting and ideology.

She's an awful person who is doing the right thing. She isn't doing the right thing for any higher moral purpose but because she feels she has no choice. But she still is. And she's risking getting killed for it.

It's like Pence certifying the election. I can recognize that both actions took some bravery without giving either one any moral credit. I can also recognize the benefit of those actions without thinking it offsets the other shit they did.

Wow.  I was with a friend and watching some of the testimony and I said to my friend "I wonder what Fox News spin will be on this".  The fact they seem to actually be addressing it straight on- I'm shocked.

I hope for this too. Don't know how realistic it is - but I hope for it.  

ETA: It's also "good" that she is truly one of them - she isn't a plant, she isn't a moderate R. She is (was?) full in with the Republican political party and working for some HORRIBLE people. She is ONE OF THEM - so maybe that will make some people realize that the shit going on behind the scenes is exactly like she says, and that Trump really did NOT care that people were armed, and that he's unhinged and thinks being president means he can do whatever he wants.

I can confirm that Foxnews was pretty fucking shocked at this testimony.
They were actually speechless at times.
(Our TV in the hospital only gets a few channels and I wanted to watch the testimony.)
