You are lucky!! That's awesome. So many people posted on the Peloton Facebook page pissed because they got kicked off mid-ride. I even read other live rides shut down because everyone was trying to take the Lizzo ride, lol.
I was bummed I missed that ride live, but kind of glad I didn't catch it - would have been so pissed if I got kicked off! I loved it on demand though, just so much fun the whole way through.
After being postponed for 2 years we are finally going to the Motley Crue/Poison/Def Leppard/Joan Jett concert at Fenway on Friday. Of COURSE even though it's been dry as a bone around here for WEEKS, the weather is calling for scattered thunderstorms and temps in the mid to high 90's. I'll be pissed if the concert ends up cancelled or cut short from the weather! We need the rain but could it please hold off another freaking day?!
We leave for vacation in NH Friday. It has not rained here in like 2 months. What's the forecast for the week we are on vacation? Rain every single fucking day. I'm SO PISSED. It better be quick showers and not all day rain.
I feel like this happens to us every fucking year.
After my divorce, we were in a 2 bedroom apartment, with two older kids for like 2 years.
And while we made it work, and we all got along really well, it was definitely not ideal.
We still haven’t bought a house, and am currently in a rental house. It has enough room for us, but it’s 100 years old and the kitchen is terrible and rent is insane on it.

Ugh I've been having this same worry. We usually go to NH with another family every July but this year the only week that worked for both families is the week of 8/22. I'm so worried that after this dry period it will just rain and rain in August. Fingers crossed for you that there won't be any major rain! When we went last year the weather looked sort of ominous but there ended up being only like half a day that our plans were actually affected by the rain.
There's a comedian I introduced my sister too. We both love him and have been dying to go see him. During Covid restrictions the venue where he had a show was too expensive because it was "dinner theater". In the meantime my nephew, her son, got to see him in Boston. He's doing a show right near my house but it was announced it was going to be recorded for a special so it sold out immediately. Last night a new show was announced at another place not far from me and she got us tickets! I'm so excited. I rarely get to see my sister alone and it's going to be so fun to have a night out AND laugh our asses off!

I went out with two of my friends. They are a lot younger than me, but when we were paying for dinner, the server asked if “mom was picking up the ticket”.

noodleoo, where are you going? We did Storyland earlier this year and are tagging along with friends at Santa's Village much later this month. I hope you get nothing more than those Florida-like showers during the day and maybe rain overnight as long as you're not camping.

We're going to North Conway! We plan to do Storyland (which the kids love) and Santa's Village for the first time! Thx, I'm also hoping it isn't too bad. I'll be really bummed if the rain ruins our plans. Not camping, so yes, rain overnight is fine!

Yay! It's such a tradition. My girls still love SL, and H and I think SV is even better. It's so clean and well-maintained, plus there's the water park. The extra drive pushes my H over the edge, so we've only been up as far as SV twice, as opposed to maybe nine trips (OMG) to SL. lol Enjoy!!!

My laptop for my new job is coming today and I am just ridiculously excited.
My kid wants to go into the Marine Corp reserves and then to college and then go active as an officer. Now that he’s turned 17, he can sign up for when he graduate HS next spring. He has a solid plan and I’m proud of him, but also it hurts my heart. And now that it is August, he can also apply for college. That also hurts my heart, but he chose a school that is 2.5 hours away, so I’m glad he will be close for that.
So many milestones happening with my boy in 2022. He’s incredible. Sometimes I wish he was a little suckier so I would be okay with him starting his life…and I am okay with it. I’ll just miss him.

Fingers crossed it works out for you! We saw that show in DC and it was so much fun. Until major storms came through, cutting off Def Leppard right after Pour some sugar on me and then there was such a huge rain delay we ended up leaving and missing Motley Crue entirely. But Poison and Def Leppard put on an amazing show.

spindle92, same for married but no kids. People assume you can and enjoy working later hours and can cover later events. Obviously I don't want to go home before 6:30pm ever.
My birthday is in a few days, but it's been so busy it doesn't even feel like it. DH is still on vacation because of the way his job does things, and he's getting a massage today. To be fair he needs it as he thinks he has sciatica, but I'm jealous. I kind of hope he doesn't call out of work later this week, because this is the week I wanted vacation but someone with more seniority got the dates instead.
We're going away for a couple of days. Praying rain that we really need will hold off. We have a hot drought all summer, then it rains when I have my last PTO of the summer.

when are you going? My older son is at overnight camp close to there and I obsessively follow the forecast lol. I don’t see any rain in the 10 day. It’s been super hot there! We were there for visiting day the other week and I almost melted

noodleoo, I hope you have a blast. It's so pretty up there. I grew up just a couple of hours away, and I've still never been to Santa's Village. I've heard it's MUCH better as a kid though, lol.

Yes, same shit back when I was married too.
It just drives me nuts that just because my life might be different than yours, (not YOU specifically) that you assume your time is more valuable than mine. No matter what people have going on, everyone's time is their own and valuable to them.
I was upstairs getting something from their admin and she's like "you need to see the new office symbol." And I'm thinking, oh cool, I knew they were working on something and were ordering coins.
IT LOOKS LIKE A UTERUS!!! YOU GUYS, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!?!?!
I even texted a pic to DH who is like "umm, that looks like a vajayjay."
All of the bosses are on work travel, so I texted the deputy and said, so sorry to bother you, but did you see the new symbol and ummm, everyone thinks it looks like a uterus, so I'm afraid someone is going to be offended and we'll get a complaint. She said it went through several reviews and she saw the design, but didn't see what we saw, but would take a look.
OMG OMG, everyone that has seen it has said it looks like a uterus. I don't know how no one in the approval process saw it.

Friday 8/5 to 8/12. Current forecast shows rain >50% chance for Fri, Sat, Mon, Tue and Wed. <sob> Maybe it will change. It is such a bummer considering how beautiful the weather has been all summer so far. <sigh>

Last day of summer break here. Kids are staying in pajamas all day apparently. I got take out from their requested drive thrus and they are getting all the screen time they want today. Backpacks are packed, water bottles filled, and aiming for 9pm lights out.
We got home from vacation Friday night and it's been days of bringing the house back to life since we were gone for a month. Groceries, yard work, going thru mail etc.

We’re facing some crummy weather for our long weekend away starting tomorrow - 100%, 50%, 40% and 0% on the day we leave.
I’m packing a poncho and a book, but internally shaking my fist. May the rain fall be in our favor!
georgeharrison hugs! I have already cried about the thought of my son leaving for college and he is only a sophomore. Sounds like you did a great job with him and he has a good, solid plan for his future.
