The last few weeks have been insanely busy and I just need a break. In addition to work and playing taxi cab driver every day for DS #3 to and from football camp, we closed on my mom's condo, got all the stuff to send DS #2 off for his freshman year in the dorms and rented an apartment for DS #1 to live in while he finishes up his college degree. I am exhausted. I can't sleep thanks to menopause symptoms and I feel like I am running in 20 different directions daily. I need another vacation. I can't believe that in two weeks DS #3 is in 8th grade and the older two are out of the house. It's nuts. We still have to book movers for mom, the flooring installers for mom's condo, rent a uhaul to move DS....The list goes on and on...
We are in the land of Publix. I know how much people love that store so I’m wondering if it’s worth going before we leave.
It’s really just a grocery store. If you need groceries, go. Otherwise you’ll be sorely disappointed.
We went when we visited FL. I'll give them credit that it was super clean and easy to move around, but nothing special. If you're a beer drinker you're probably in the area where you can get Yuengling. I honestly can't tell if it's good beer, or if I just like it because it's hard to get in my area.
ETA: Yuengling was "really good beer" in college. People would bring a lot back when they'd visit home. I had a colleague bring me some a few years ago when they visited home. We also had it in FL and it was good...but just 2 steps above Budwiser.

This is my H. I swear he almost shed a tear when the next state over started selling it LOL

I have seen two hot guys in two days in two random places. Don't worry, just looking, happily married.
Yesterday in my COLONOSCOPY the guy next to me in the waiting room was really a looker. My husband was waiting with me and I even told him how hot I thought this guy was. So we are both in pre op together with the curtains down but I can hear the nurse asking him about his lifestyle. He was my age, on no meds and said he didn't drink alcohol. Sure that helped him look so young. He was also asking about having salad after his procedure and they. told him no he needed to eat white bread and chicken. etc. etc. Then he shares he is a vegan and doesn't eat white bread. So nothing against people who do that but I'll keep my regular husband. LOL!
Then today the UPS man comes in to work and wow! I had to help him for a few minutes and he's a nice "drink of water" I won't forget.
I love how the universe sometimes plops in some real cuties in your day. And back to back

Yuengling on tap is really good beer! I do like it in the can or bottle too, but love it on tap. We visited the brewery last year and the beer was extra good there, but it was also a really great tour. Definitely the best brewery tour we've done.

This is how I felt about Wegmans. People were *so* excited when they came into our area. I could not figure out the hype once it opened. It is not really any different from Whole Foods. <shrug>
Any Cary, North Carolina or surrounding area restaurants that are a can’t miss? I will be with my 15 year old, but he is a pretty adventurous eater.
Lucky 32 is a popular & delish spot to eat (although I haven't been in a long time!) Double check their hours if you try it, i think they have cut down on operating times.
There are definitely great places to eat in Raleigh, which is really only 5-10 mins from Cary.....not sure if you could venture over!

Lol! The AC guy at my house now is pretty good looking. He also seems pretty infatuated with my stage 5 clinger cat 😂
noodleoo, yes on Wegmans! I don't really get the allure. Then again, I'm often a Market Basket shopper, and the people I know who love Wegmans so much wouldn't be caught dead there, so maybe I'm not the target demographic.
wanderlustmom, thanks for the laugh. I know what you mean, but your post struck me as so funny. I hope your good luck continues.

We can get Yuengling in Dallas now and I still haven’t tried it.
If I get a craving for pie or a sub I’ll go but I think I’ll skip it. For some reason I thought it was like TJs where there are store specific items that are really good.
ssmjlm, it's amazing sometimes how people just don't "see." I remember talking to a woman wearing a t-shirt. It was from her bowling league and was intended to be in support of 9/11, but it showed the towers as bowling pins and a bowling ball rolling towards them along with something like "never forget." I said something and she'd never, ever seen it as anything but supportive. Like, seriously??? Your f'ing bowling ball is MOWING DOWN THE TOWERS!!!
And like noodleoo, I SO wish we could see it. (I know we can't, so don't feel like that was a nudge.)

LOL, same! Market Basket is the best! Our grocery bill would easily be 2-3x as high if we did all our shopping at Wegmans. It’s actually closer than MB so we do go there pretty frequently to fill in, but we main weekly trip is to MB. I will admit the fruit and meat at Wegmans are really good.

Thank you! I would love some Raleigh recommendations too!
I went out with two of my friends. They are a lot younger than me, but when we were paying for dinner, the server asked if “mom was picking up the ticket”.
🥴🥴🥴🥴
If she does she for damn sure won’t leave a good tip! Kidding. Sorta.

Lies. namasteak - a chicken tender sub is for sure worth going for. It's our first stop when we visit H's family in FL. I've tried recreating them at home and it's just not the same. Other than that, yes, it's just groceries in a very clean and bright store.

Picking up a Publix sub is a mandatory experience when we go to Florida.

I attended an hr training at work today and the attorney who led it was super attractive. Now I'm at a self defense class at my local pd, and one of the officers is also super hot. What a day, lol.

Central PA girl here- I have a Yuengling in hand for like 70% of my wedding photos, lol. I have since moved on to better beer but it does hit the spot every now and again.

Wait, are you supposed to eat something specific after your colonoscopy? Because after mine I've always made my H take me to Wendy's where I've gotten spicy chicken nuggets and a frosty. LOL!
Also, at my last colonoscopy the anesthesiologist was super cute. I also warned him that I woke up during my last one and he was like, "Oh no, don't worry, we're using different meds now." Cool. But then when I woke up during that one I sort of booped him the leg, and I remember he looked down at me and was very surprised, and he sort of hurriedly turned away and I was immediately out again.
I returned a bunch of stuff this afternoon to Eastern mountain sports. $50 of it was bought with rewards points. When I returned it the cashier didn't feel like figuring out how to give rewards back so she just gave it to me in cash. So basically EMS just gave me $50 for no real reason. Happy day!
We leave for vacation at 5 am. This may be the least prepared I've ever been the night before a vacation.
