Interesting. Since when does he ever keep his mouth shut? Not that I ever doubted it was serious, but that's another clue that it is - when even Trump himself isn't saying anything about the warrant's contents.

Yeah George Conway retweeted so I assume they think it’s accurate. Yup hold a presser so we can all hear about it.
Rachel Maddow had a guest on last night & he basically said that any evidence that is lawfully collected, even if unrelated to the original search warrant, is admissible. So if the FBI seized other documents, they can be used as evidence.

How do they get the other stuff if it wasn’t on the warrant? I thought that’s all they could take?

Law & Order degree here...I think they can sieze items not listed on a warrant if they're in plain sight and it is apparent that the items are evidence of a crime.

Again, Law & Order degree but I *think* they can sieze evidence unrelated to the search warrant. So if their warrant said they could specifically search Trump's office and safe for paper files, and when they entered his home found used drug paraphernalia laying out in the entryway, they could sieze that.
Any crime. And cops will purposefully include things in warrants that justify looking EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE just in case. I’m not saying that happened here, but if you tell the judge you’re looking for trace elements of drugs you can look at a lot more than if you say you’re looking for bricks of cocaine by the kilo.
Also not a lawyer, but I took extra civics classes in HS lol.

I took civil and criminal law in HS and what I took away from that is that you can be sued in civil court even if found not guilty in criminal court. And my teacher really disliked the smell of bananas and did not allow anyone to have a Banana in her class.
I’m so curious about boxes of documents. He doesn’t read so I imagine he mostly cares about his love letters from Kim and Putin. I assume he also has National secret documents that they are concerned he’ll just you know share with anyone at a dinner table when he needs something from them like dictators. What do you all think?

Also have a L&O JD, adding that I think it has to be in plain sight and clearly evidence of a crime. So if a closed ring box (with a stolen ring inside it) is sitting next to the documents, they could not seize it based on a warrant for documents (there's no reasonable expectation that stolen documents would be in a ring box), but if there's a 2 pound block of cocaine being used as a paperweight on the documents, they can seize that.

I'm wondering if its stuff he was hoping to use in business deals, and for blackmail.
It sounds like they took it from him at the airport.
Scott Perry's phone was taken from him?
Also general reminder to post links.
Posted the info in the Aug politics thread earlier. Tweet with a link to Fox News. I have not seen other sources yet, all I have seen are to the Fox piece.
Why would he still haven't anything he shouldn't in his home? He has had over a year to hide it somewhere else. I mean i know he is stupid, but if you are hiding something wouldn't you actually hide it??

Honestly it makes me kind of sick to my stomach to think about. I have friends that work for the federal government and it's drilled into you that top secret classified documents can lead to deaths of Americans if leaked. And wasn't he in huge amounts of debt leaving the White House? I hope he didn't take top secret things to sell and endanger people's lives. The whole thing is so incredibly fucked up.
