Another anecdote - got Pfizer on Wednesday (primary was Pfizer, booster was Moderna) and didn't even feel it going in. No sore arm or fatigue like the other shots. My H just got his yesterday and same so far. All the other shots my arm hurt badly for a week or so and needed early bed, etc. So fewer side effects for us, anyhow.
Totally fine today (40ish hrs from shot). Yesterday I was somewhat achy, had some sinus issues, and was absolutely ravenous all day (like eat a full meal and less than an hour later my stomach was growling again). Today I just have a little bit of a sore arm.
Oh you know what, this reminds me that I did feel like my sinuses got weird for a few hours after the shot, and then again around 24 hours after yesterday. It didn’t last but it wasn’t my usual sinus trigger (weather) and I wondered if that was a minor side effect. I don’t remember that with either of my previous shots.
My first 2 shots were Moderna and my booster was Pfizer. Does it matter what my 2nd booster is?
I believe Moderna and Pfizer are pretty mix and match at this point. My original vax was Pfizer with Moderna booster. I was hoping for another Pfizer just because the original vaccine didn’t effect me at all but the booster kicked my ass. I just scheduled and all that was available was Moderna. I just made sure to schedule it on a Friday after work in case it kicks my butt again.

Wow, I am having a big skin reaction to this booster! I’ve got a swollen, itchy patch about the size of a walnut. I was joking on Friday that I felt like I was going to need to take a day off of work just to scratch 😂

I had AWFUL reactions to Moderna and a more mild but not great reaction to Pfizer. I just assumed it was because the 2nd shot was "stronger" than the booster but what do I know 🤷♀️

My first 2 shots were moderna and then a moderna booster last year. I got evusheld in April. Every single dose kicked my ass for multiple days, extreme full body joint pain, fever, etc. I was nervous about getting another moderna booster for this reason. I got Pfizer and flu shot yesterday morning. Had a couple of hours of chills (but no fever), minor sinus/ear discomfort, and really sore arms before bed last night. Woke up feeling fine except lingering arm soreness. My h got another moderna yesterday afternoon and is absolutely miserable. I’m really glad I went with Pfizer this time. I know it varies so much but I’m just glad to not be feeling like I did every other dose.
Got moderna yesterday. The shot itself was fine. My arm was sore within an hour and really painfully sore overnight. I also woke up with a headache. I’m now 18 hours past shot and am in bed with huge fatigue, a low grade fever, chills and joint pain to the point that my wrists are throbbing and I can’t walk without pain.
Hoping I wake up tomorrow feeling better. I’d still prefer this to Covid, even once a year.

Got my Moderna booster Thursday. I don’t think it hit me worse this time necessarily it man did my arm hurt (still woke up with it being sore today) and I was tired yesterday for a while. This is only my second Moderna (third overall as I had j&j in 2021 and a Moderna booster last October). I think the first one hit me a bit harder in terms of aches all over and stuff.
Same here-J&J then got my second Moderna this week on Wednesday. I had a red bump at the injection site for like 2 weeks with the J&J, and was deadly tired after the first Moderna booster. The pharmacist had warned me it might hit me harder since it was basically double the last booster, but this one just gave me a sore arm for a couple of days (seems fine so far today finally, so hopefully tomorrow yours is better!), but no fatigue or aches.
I got the Moderna booster yesterday. About 8 hours later my arm was sore and I was achy all over. I slept terribly last night, and was super achy. I’m feeling somewhat better now.
I’ve only had Moderna for all 4 vaccines. This isn’t any worse than my other shots.
I am consistently amazed at how different countries are handling covid. Here in the UAE, we are still required to mask indoors, still quarantined at home for 10 days if positive, still contact tracing at school. Yet, no talk of any additional boosters or even a whisper of the bivalent as Moderna never even made it here. A teacher in my school just took a PCR to enter Abu Dhabi (they still require a green pass to enter basically anywhere in AD and their schools are still requiring regular PCRs), he is completely asymptomatic and is positive. So now he's teaching from home for the next 10 days and his family also has to stay home, even if no symptoms.
I feel like there's a middle somewhere that everyone is missing. I am SO tired of living with 2020 requirements (minus social distancing). No one except schools are enforcing anytjing at all and guess whose job that is? I heard the government is talking about zero cases before lifting any more requirements, and I want to cry at that.

I got my updated booster yesterday from Pfizer. For my three previous doses, my main side effect had been the painful/swollen underarm lymph nodes. So far, no real side effects from this one. Injection site is a bit sore if I rub it but I was able to sleep on the arm with no issue. Otherwise I feel totally normal. 24 hours out
I got my Moderna booster yesterday afternoon, I'm not quite 24 hours out. Aside from a sore arm I feel pretty normal. The first 3 shots didn't hit me super hard either but the arm soreness was worse before...its more manageable this time (no tylenol/ibuprofen but I did ice it a bit) and no headache which was a pretty consistent issue previously.
Update: the day after was brutal — I was out of bed for a grand total of four hours and spiked a 103 fever at one point. I slept 13 hours last night. Today, I just have a persistent headache (dull and manageable but not going away even with meds) and my lymph nodes are huge under my arm and on my collarbone and neck.

Ugh. I'm getting mine tomorrow and other than the first one, I've always had a bad reaction too. Glad you are starting to feel a little better.
Got Pfizer booster this morning. Have a fever, general malaise. I'm not sure why I thought I wouldn't react this time since I have to every shot. Hope it's only a day or two. :/
I just got the Moderna bivalent. My lips are a little tingly, which only happened with the initial shot, so that’s interesting. I’m nervous about what the next 24 hours will hold, but glad I got it done!

I got the Moderna booster yesterday at 3:00. It’s my 5th shot because I’m immunocompromised. First 3 were full dose Moderna and 4th booster in May was Pfizer. My arm started hurting 3 hours in. No other symptoms when I went to bed. Woke up at 7am today and was hot but no fever, slight headache and fatigue. I took 2 ibuprofen and put a cold washcloth on my face/neck and feel mostly fine now at 9am. My side effects for the other 4 were a lot worse. Fingers crossed no more pop up during the day today. I’m working from home and a bit tired but no issues. ETA: The fatigue is overwhelming at 1:30. Thank goodness I’m WFH. I have a meeting at 2 and my day is over at 3. I will be taking a nice nap then.

My H tested positive last sun. We had spent the previous week in a hotel room, cars, etc together 24/7 in close quarters.
Everyone else in the household is negative at day 8 or whatever we are on now. It's still possible we'll have a positive tomorrow but seems like only he got it.
It was the worst case scenario for exposure and somehow no one else got it.

This damn virus makes no sense!
That's exactly what happened to us a few months ago. I must have gotten it while we were all traveling and staying in a tiny hotel room and going everywhere together during the travel. Then I never bothered to isolate or mask up at home because I assumed they would test positive too and...nothing. In fact, no one who's gotten covid in our household has spread it to another household member so far so that's why I really don't sweat it anymore when it comes to strict isolation of the covid+ person. This shit is weird. Glad everyone else in your household was spared!
I could only find Moderna near by so I scheduled my appt for Friday so I have the weekend to recoop if needed. H got his this past Saturday- he complained of a sore arm and being very tired but other than that he didn’t seem have any side effects.

I manage more than a dozen building sites all with many staff and there was on site that only got its first-ever covid case among their team TODAY. They had such a good run with their luck. Every other building has at least a few cases, some multiple times and some where covid has just steamrolled a team during the big surges. So this site knew their time would come but we have all been in awe of their luck. There's nothing that would have made them less likely to become infected - they work with the public like every other site, they all share households with other people and are out and about like normal now, they're not masking up consistently anymore like everywhere else, etc.

I have had Pfizer for my shots and booster…should I get Moderna now? Is it performing better? I am dreading it. I need to remind my dad to go get it also. He never got his second booster, but my mom did.

We don’t have real world performance data for the updated vaccines yet but in prior rounds for the mRNA products the higher dosing with Moderna has seemed to make some modest difference in the longevity of antibodies. Assuming this vaccine performs the same way, and there’s no real reason to believe otherwise, that could be useful if there aren’t additional rounds of vaccines recommended until next fall (not set in stone but a possibility that folks wouldn’t be eligible again until then, especially if <50 and otherwise not immunocompromised.)
There is some very limited data showing that mixing different manufacturers could have some small benefit as well, although mixing is probably more useful for people who started out with Pfizer than vice versa given the above.
My real recommendation would be to get whatever you can find in a reasonable timeframe, but if Moderna is an option it may not be a bad idea.
My mom (73) has had a terrible reaction to all of the shots. I was pleasantly surprised that she is still willing to get this newest booster when she goes for her regular check up in October. I was prepared to do battle on the subject.
I have a sick day blocked off mid-October to get the shot.
This is the same problem I faced last year at this time when I was planning for my booster. It is hard to clear out the calendar to plan to be sick for at least a day especially during the fall. And if it is like my other shots I am going to feel sick for a couple days.
I feel silly planning a vaccine out a month in advance but I guess that is the reality of my life lol.

My parents have had one booster. Around Christmastime.
I'm trying to figure out how to get them to the walk-in site this weekend when they visit. 😉
I got my covid booster this afternoon. I was number 8 for the afternoon walking session at the local county health department (having arrived about five minutes before they opened for the afternoon).
Bit of itching and soreness around the injection site is all so far. We will see how tomorrow goes.
