Bad Dingo - I'm a little late in replying and no you are not being an alarmist. Yes I am still suffering from these awful headaches. I have an appointment next Monday with my dr to see what the heck is going on.

How are you feeling? I hope better.
I'm still testing positive but finally starting to feel human again.
I can't even imagine having a covid headache for so long, it is truly the worst headache ever. I hope that your doctor can figure out what is going on!

I still wanted to get my flu and covid shots at the same time but the only thing holding me back now is that I'm a side/stomach sleeper and having two sore arms would suuuuuck.

You can get them on the same arm.
Good to know! I've seen people mentioning having two sore arms and just assumed there was no way to get them in one arm.

It did suck to have 2 sore arms. But I took some ibuprofen and it REALLY helped. I assume, had i remember to take another dose before bed, I would not have had any issues sleeping (rolling onto my arms did wake me up periodically). For me, the soreness was mostly an annoyance and by the next night I was fine.

sugarbear1, I had dinner with my parents Labor Day and tested positive the next day. I NEVER saw it coming. Woke up Tuesday with chills and hot flashes and tested positive right away. Anyway, neither of my parents nor any other attendees got it from me, thankfully. I hope it's the same for you!
There was some talk about the COVID booster in the Facebook group I’m in for folks impacted by the Daily Harvest recall. At least one person said their doc said not to get it (due to some concern about our weakened livers). One person suggested looking up Dr Peter McCullough (lol - threw some receipts down on that one cuz yikes).
I looked into it a bit more to be sure and looks like safe for folks with acute and chronic liver disease so I went ahead and got it today!

My 84 (almost 85) year old dad just tested positive. He and my mom just returned to the states from a river boat cruise in Europe. One of their friends that was on the cruise tested positive and my mom has a very slight cough and runny nose in one nostril. So they thought they should test. My mom tested negative but my dad tested positive. He's going to get some Paxlovid today.
I asked my mom if they were being careful around each other and she paused and said "No, I guess we should probably. But do you think it's ok if we sleep in the same bed?"
They're currently on the East coast but were supposed to take the train back home to the West coast Tuesday.

My MIL got her booster, which makes me happy. She has very little reaction to any of them. Not sure when or if my H and I will be offered one (stupid gov't).
I'm real tired of trying to convince my parents to get another booster. Hoping that this becomes an annual thing so I can roll it in with my pep talk to get them to get their flu shots.
I know they will get it, they know they will get it, but they definitely need convincing from me and MH in order to feel better about getting it. I blame their boomer friends.
My parents got theirs today! My mom had nasty side-effects from her first 4 doses, so she wasn't very excited and my dad's friends started telling him it wasn't tested well enough. I sent them some links last week explaining the difference in regulatory process and didn't press. So glad they're a bit better protected!

Returned last night from required work travel that had me on a plane there and back plus 4 days of conference style activities.
I’m pretty salty that there was virtually no enforcement of the mask requirement that the meeting made clear was expected. It was our meeting so I’m annoyed that our organization did such a poor job enforcing the safety protocols. They did a lot of things right but it was completely avoidable to have 300+ unmasked people breathing in a ballroom as frequently as it occurred and I think it’s crappy to promise a certain safety measure and not follow through, especially since all the participants had to proactively agree to follow them.
We are now getting a steady stream of positive test notifications from other attendees so that’s… awesome. I masked with an N95 the whole time including awkwardly for the meals I was required to be present for but using home fit testing I know it wasn’t a perfect seal as I did occasionally get a tiny bit of fog on my glasses. I’ve tested a bunch of different N95s and the Aura I wore is the best one so far but it isn’t perfect. I wore an elastomeric on the plane and felt really good about the seal and level of protection but it isn’t workable for a conference environment and presenting and small group dialogue. Since I’m basically one way masking a huge portion of the time I’d like to do it as well as possible.
I feel really stressed about the prospect of having to do this every few months into perpetuity as everyone else around me gets more and more lax about covid. I’m not sure what the solution is but I am expending way more political capital than I’d like maintaining what feels like a reasonable amount of safety for my risk tolerance and I don’t know how sustainable it is but I’m really unwilling to throw my hands up and acquiesce to it so apparently this is just going to be a standoff over who is more stubborn and I will probably win but my prize is to be the weird person who still cares about not getting covid and I don’t love it.
And now Biden has said the pandemic is over, eye roll.
I want to scream. Just booked my flights for my Nov meeting, I’m guessing mask adherence will suck again at the meeting even though it’s required and I couldn’t get a direct flight on Southwest so I’m stuck with whatever unmasked seatmates the universe selects for me. 😭 I’m considering bringing a little personal air purifier with me on the plane but it honestly feels pretty bleak.
For those who got enlarged/swollen lymph nodes as a vaccine side effect, how long did they last? I got my bivalent booster on Sat (and my flu shot) and today I woke up with a really swollen and tender lymph node under the arm that got the covid shot. I didn't have that from any of my previous three covid vaccinations. It's kind of painful just when walking with my arms at my sides. I'm not too freaked out, but I'm hoping this isn't going to stick around crazy long?

I got my shot last tuesday. I think they were worst on Thursday/Friday. They still sort of "feel" a bit swollen (but not sore), today, but that might be all in my head. I was fine to do physical home improvement stuff over the weekend without issues (ripping out drywall, using power tools, etc).

I haven't had my bivalent booster yet, but my swollen lymph nodes lasted a few days with my initial vaccine. It was painful enough to make it uncomfortable to sleep on that side, but not so bad that I couldn't do my regular activities.

For all my shots Mine have been visibly swollen (legit you can see lumps) and tender for a week or two, and then swollen but not tender for a couple more weeks. So I wouldn’t stress about it (it freaked me out the first time for sure!).

I got my vaccine Friday afternoon- was swollen and painful all weekend. Today it is sore to the touch but it doesn’t hurt just existing like the previous couple days (underarm lymph node)
Also while I didn’t have this side effect with my original Pfizer series, I did with my first booster which was Moderna (as was this one) but it didn’t seem to last as long as last time which was painful for a week.

I have had them with the last 3 of my shots. My lymph nodes were huge after the bivalent (under my arm, and on my collarbone). The enlargement lasted 6-8 weeks for me (I ended up going to my doc after my first booster after about 6 weeks because it was freaking me out)

I got the bivalent booster and flu shot at the same time (and in the same arm). The swollen lymph node on that side (which I've never gotten with any previous shot - covid, flu, or otherwise) lasted about 5 days. I was similarly worried that it was going to stick around for awhile after Googling, but it went away pretty quickly for me.

I got the bivalent booster and flu shot yesterday. Was so pleasantly surprised at how my body likes Phizer better. I picked different arms and my flu shot arm is a bit tender and the covid arm is pretty sore. I'm a little more tired that's it! This is huge because both second shot Moderna and booster Moderna made me feel terrible for days.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I had Covid two weeks ago and have been feeling better for quite awhile, I was really only down for a couple days. However, I keep getting random symptoms popping back up, but just like one at a time. Saturday I got a randomly stuffy nose for about 24 hours. That went away. Today, after I had a few meetings and was talking a lot, I started coughing and cannot freaking stop. My throat feels phlegm-y and I keep clearing it. Took some Robitussin and used my inhaler but it's not really giving any relief thus far. So annoying.

Basically when will this shit go away, lol.
Me too! And my sleep is just terrible, which leaves me feeling wiped out all the time. Sometimes I can go a whole day with no symptoms. Yesterday it was so bad I could barely talk at times. I've done a few repeat rapid tests since I am seeing my dad this weekend and they all come back negative. I don't get it.
