This is the end of our sunroom. It doesn't get used at all, really. I put our Christmas tree in the window corner when it's out and when it's not it just seems like wasted space. I'm going to upload a picture from my phone once I get this posted.
The french doors to the right go to my office, the bigger opening on the right is to the living room where the TV is (so sound travels easily through the two spaces), behind me with the camera is a space where I have floating bookshelves and do my workouts and behind that is the laundry/mud room area. The black mat on the left is in front of the door to the backyard.
The chairs are pretty, but not super comfy to sit in. I'd rather not buy something new, but I could swap them with the small loveseat with chaise that's in my office. I can probably find a picture of that, too. But then I lose a more comfortable place to watch TV in my office (which can have shut doors so the sound doesn't carry).
I feel like there are no good options, really, but y'all are really creative so let's see
Also, I took that photo this morning before my workout, but usually the area is very bright from sunlight.
Oh and that thing leaning against the wall is my old desktop, H had our friend make me a new one and installed it, but still hasn't gotten rid of the old one lol.
I would keep everything in the right corner as-is, and remove the second chair on the left, then put some plants on stands of different heights in the left/window corner.
What do you have in your workout space currently? Not clear if you're doing yoga type stuff or have equipment, but this space looks perfect for a treadmill or bike.
If it were mine, personally, I have a gazillion and a half books so I'd have more bookshelves there (and would use the office space for quiet reading since you already have a comfy chaise there). Or that's where I'd put our piano, if we didn't have a separate living room/family room set up already. (which we don't now, just a single living room so the piano is about 15 feet away from the tv and consequently never gets played).

I have a large mat that I put out when I workout and keep it rolled up otherwise (don't want the dogs walking on it or barfing on it) and I have some adjustable dumbbells, yoga blocks/strap. No cardio equipment. I might be able to move what's currently there over to the current workout space. It would be really bare when I'm not actively working out. But it's a thought.
I'd love a flex space that we could use anytime we were doing something that needed some elbow room. DD was practicing her choreography yesterday and I was wishing we had 6' x 6' of open floor for her. Alas, with 4 people in a poorly laid out 1200 sqft house, we need to rearrange things if the kids want to do anything more than jumping jacks. (And even those have to be carefully aligned).
That could be a nice hobby space, especially if either of you do anything artsy - having the natural light would be helpful. Although that would probably require buying some stuff.
If you don't necessarily have a use/need in mind for the space, I agree with glw's suggestion of replacing the chair in the window corner with plants.
What do you need to make your home more functional?
Storage? Office space - even just for household running? Conversation/hosting?
Hmmm interesting questions. Our home is pretty functional. I'd love another living space, but the openness of this area and its proximity to the living room makes it not good for that. We rarely host and this space is far from the kitchen so doesn't really make sense for that. The last owners had it set up as a play area for their kids, but we don't have kids and the dogs won't agree to contain their toys to one area. Maybe I could get some of those tiny dog couches and make it a dog living room like that guy on TikTok!
I feel like I would love that space! For like a reading nook type area. Maybe a more colorful rug, loveseat with some pillows and a throw, a little side table, and a lamp, and make it a cozy, reading/sitting area. Also, probably a plant with all that light coming in. Coffee table, too, probably.
ETA: Could you add a love seat along the brick wall, a plant in the corner (fake or real) where you put your tree, and move the chairs and tiny round table to the other side of the rug, facing the love seat? Maybe move that floor lamp elsewhere and have SOME kind of lamp next to the love seat in the corner away from the windows. That one's base is probably too big to fit next to something else.
You could also do some sort of a coffee station situation - assuming you drink coffee, how nice would it be to, after your workout, you just go to the other end of the room, pour yourself a coffee, and sip it while watching the sky lighten up in the morning?! What a nice way to start the day. But I assume you'd have to cart water to this space from the kitchen, so I don't know if that's super practical.
I would replace with a comfy chair and make it my reading nook. I also do have a good space with a lot of light so I would probably put in a plant rack as well.
Do you guys play games or anything? What about turning the rug 90*, adding a coffee table and arrange the chairs. It looks like a lovely game/conversation area. I love the windows too!
ETA - is it a square rug? I swear it look rectangle when I first looked at it
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

It is a rectangular rug. We don't, but maybe we should?

I really like the reading nook idea. I am envisioning a larger overstuffed chair angled in front of the windows with a large ottoman. Shelves in front of the brick that are full of books, candles and succulents in pots. I would put a basket next to the chair that is full of blankets rolled up so they look neat and a very small table on one side for tea or drinks. I would consider a lamp that comes over the back of the chair for light after the sun sets but I would ditch the lamp you currently have as it seems you have lighting in the ceiling.
I would also consider a "wine room" with a wine rack in front of the brick with a wine fridge at the bottom. Small table with 4 chairs with comfortable pillows in chair backs, open shelf storage for wine glasses and small plates for Charcuterie.
I would do bookshelves along the wall and flip the chairs around so they are framing the space. Maybe if there is room add a ottoman that can double as a small table, and then lots of plants to warm things up.
I think I do need to try and sell the chairs I have there so I can buy one comfy one to sit and read in. I'd love, like, a chair and a half or a chaise that I could even curl up and nap in.
My first inclination is a reading area, but I feel like that’s my answer to everything lol. Do you guys play games or do puzzles where you could set up a game area? Maybe a pool table (might be too big for the space?), foosball table, something like that? I don’t know, I’m bad at this which is why I have so many empty rooms in my house.

I agree with making it a reading-relaxing nook/plant space/nice place to have coffee/tea. Since the French doors from your office look out to this area, I think incorporating plants would make for a nice view.
