I recommend the book "Bunny's Staycation" if you want to read it to your 5 year old. I've been reading this book to both of my kids ever since I found it in a Scholastic flyer. I've also been leaving them behind since DD was 7 months old. I also have a clingy 5 year old. When he and I are reunited after a separation, he becomes even more clingy. It's the price I pay for some kid-free time. The worst was when I left when they were both between age 1 & 2. I came home to a 21 month old DD who gave me baby side eyes for leaving. The other time I came home to find that 15 month old DS had gone on a hunger strike when both DD and I left for a weekend and he was left home alone with dad.
I have nothing lined up until next January. I am constantly looking for meetings I can attend!
This sort of shit made me loathe my friend's H. This fucking dude was a mechanical genius but couldn't figure out how to give his poor wife a 2 hour break.
I'll also add that with my friend her DH was also doing that anytime something didn't go as planned with the kids or something he had to deal with that wasn't fun. He did it because if he isn't having fun then she shouldn't be either. Asshole.
There are so many men like this. I just don't understand why people have kids with them.

Same. I think my friend only likes him half the time.
Thank you all! I knew I could rely on this group to help me think straight without emotion involved. I'll tell my boss tomorrow that I'm in *Hyperventilates*
Anyone familiar with San Antonio? I don't think I'll have much free time, but if I do I'd like to explore a little.
There’s all of the fun stuff along the Riverwalk to do and the Alamo.
