The keyboardist is my oldest friend! We've known each other since we were 4, and he's always been basically a musical prodigy. It's so awesome that he's on this gig now, I'm so proud of him.
Ohhhh, he was the band member that wrote Roseanna, for Roseanne Arquette. That's so cool that you know him!!
I love Toto.
eta: lol, never mind. Clearly they got a new keyboardist
Haha yes, he's new as of about a year ago? Maybe two? I have no concept of time.
Today is also my Friday, but I woke up with a cold. Negative for Covid thankfully. I was supposed to take my kids to the state fair tomorrow and strawberry picking on Sunday, plus we have Monday off and were maybe going to a theme park. I'm hoping this is a very short cold and I can do some of these planned activities.
This post seems like it should have been posted in August. State fair? Strawberry picking? Where on earth do you live that this stuff is happening in mid-February?!

Monday is probably a splash pad and theme park. I'm in Florida so I'm enjoying warm temps without the humidity. In two months it will be like the devil's armpit and you don't have to be jealous anymore.
I am jealous of clairebear! I am in freezing in what feels like 3 degrees and so tired of walking/slipping on ice. We had rain earlier this week so it is even worse!
It is that weird time in MN, some yards where the sun hits are starting to be free of snow while other shadowy yards are still packed high with snow.

Our trip to Germany(/Austria/France) this summer is in the process of being booked! I've seen some charges come through to our cc already and it's making it real now! We are using a travel agent to leverage their expertise and assistance with logistics.
It was interesting that we weren't able to book with a tour group to visit Dachau - they required group participants to be age 13+ and DD will still be 12 when we go on the trip. The website for Dachau says that it "advises" that visitors are age 12+, so it looks like we'll just have to visit independently/not with a tour group.
It is 67 degrees out and we have not had any snow other than a dusting here and there but its so unseasonably warm. Groundhog lied. lol
Same. I'm so annoyed. I love snow and hate summer. I know it doesn't necessarily work this way, but it also gives me anxiety that if February is having 60+ days, what's July/August going to look like?

I love summer but don't mind a good noreaster once in a while. lol
After a trip to the Urgent Care vet on Monday, and a few days of antibiotics, our cat finally seems to be on the mend.
Today is my H's birthday, and we're going to go out to dinner somewhere with my in-laws (who seem to constantly be at my house these days with all of my MIL's medical appointments). But I had tai chi this morning, so I had an excuse to leave the house, and I'm about to go waste at least an hour in Target. He can have some birthday time with his family while I go run very important errands, like comparing all the types of mouthwash even though I know exactly what I'm going to buy.

@sameoldstory, we have only one dog, but she is a PITA with food. When we're cooking or doing something in the kitchen she comes in and stands there drooling hoping you will give her something. We refer to it as feeding time at the zoo...lol. She typically doesn't counter surf, but if you leave something in the living room or my son's game room and go to bed or leave the house you'll find the empty wrapper/bowl/whatever on her dogbed.
Does anyone else have dogs that aren’t food motivated? I have three dogs with varying levels of food motivation. My one chunky girl will do anything for food. She scavenges, steals from the other dogs, tries to get food when your cooking, etc. Me second dog is a bit more stealth. She may or may not eat at mealtimes and will try to counter-surf if there is something she really, really wants. My youngest could not give two shits about food LOL She is literally laying next to her bowl right now, mostly to keep dog #1 from eating it, but she’s only had a few bites herself. It’s crazy to me that they are all so different.
My border collie has never cared about food. We have to coax him to eat. It's so different from the lab I had growing up.
He does love meat and will scavange our garbage if we aren't careful

We have a wedding near LA this fall and the bride and groom want to go to Disneyland after so we decided to join them for 1 day. It will be kid free. It was cheaper to book a room with a king + bunk beds than just a king. WTF?!? Guess we will have our choice of beds. But also...OMG at the rates of the Disneyland hotels!! So pricey!
I was enjoying my leisurely stroll through Target when I got a text from my BIL that my sister is in the ER. She "collapsed like a sack of potatoes." No idea what is wrong, other than she's conscious (he said she never really lost consciousness), has had an EKG, and they are still waiting. And also that BIL is going to strangle our dad because he came to the hospital but is acting like they are bothering him.
I don't blame BIL. Our dad has been behaving like a total asshat since our mom died, and I can totally picture how he's acting right now.

Are you staying on property? We always stay across the street because it is so much cheaper.
Is it normal to sort of feel a new crown? He kept asking how it felt yesterday but my mouth was still numb. It just feels a little weird. Like one tooth is a tap shoe.
Yeah that’s no good. As annoying as it is to go back, you should. That’s an easy fix.
My 15 mo old fell off the playground yesterday and I can't stop thinking about it. I was with her but she just walked right off the open area before I could even react. Ugh it was so scary. This child is going to do me in, she is so different and wild from my first.

The Florida strawberry festival?! I love that event!

No--across the street, but it still comes to $300 a night. We're usually a Comfort Inn/Quality Inn type of family so this feels steep. LOL
