9.5" of snow at my house in Salt Lake City, and according to social media we're on the very low end of snow totals for the valley. I'm seeing 2+ feet twenty minutes south of us.
We're here for a ski vacation and are loving this storm. 🙂

You have outstanding timing! This much new snow this late in the season is very rare. Enjoy the powder!
And in Philly today I saw a bee out flying around and all the daffodils and crocuses are up. Some of the cherry blossoms have started opening. It’s fucking February.

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

And not a drop of snow all year. It sucks.
I feel like we usually have random warm days in the middle of freezing winter, but this year and last year too was more like random bitter cold days in a season of very mild/warm winter. It feels wrong.

We got half an inch of ice. Power and internet has been out since Wednesday night. No estimate for when they’ll get our area’s power back on. They said 95% of customers should have it back by Sunday. 😬 Meanwhile it’s 30 degrees as a high temp. We had a whole house generator installed last year, and I’m so so thankful we did, but also, this is crazy.
We’ve been using cellular data for internet, but that’s obviously the least of the concerns here.
@@@@@@@@ School has been canceled since Wednesday, as most buildings are also without power.

I’m in Northern California, about an hour east of San Francisco. It snowed in the hills surrounding my town, I have lived here for 15 years and have never seen this happen.
One of my friends is stuck in the Tahoe area because of all the snow.
The worst I dealt with down here was the wind being so bad that it blew the dumpster at my apartment complex at least 15 feet. Thankfully it didn't get blown into any cars. The rain has been less than I was expecting.
It was 76* here in central MD yesterday. Tomorrow we're getting an inch of snow (won't stick) with a high of 35, and then Sunday a high in the 50s. WTF x100. I know it's MD, but come on. rubytueicedcoffee
Monday will be 40s and rainy, and then back to the 60s on Tuesday. CRAZY

Lurker here - I grew up about an hour east of the city (tri-valley area) and I remember it snowing like once in the 90’s.

2 hours south of SF here. I’ve never seen the snow come so low. We live right on the ocean and it’s near freezing temps at night, can’t remember when that’s ever happened. We skied Bear Valley early in the week and returned yesterday driving out of a major snowstorm. The snow was coming at the lowest elevations I have ever seen.

So 400k customers (so individual homes/locations, meaning more people total are impacted) in Michigan are still without power after Wednesday's ice storm.
It snowed this morning, we may get more freezing rain or snow on Monday. Temps are staying below freezing, and most who lost power lost it on Wednesday night, so indoor home temps are now creeping into the low 40s. Roads are mostly clear, but when you drive around, you see huge limbs and branches everywhere. Trees just laying across power lines in more rural areas. Even stop lights are still out in major intersections (like 6-8 lanes across).
We were supposed to get power back yesterday, but as of 3:20 today, still not on. I'm thankful we have a generator, so we're doing ok, but we are the exception.

My parents hit ice and went off the road into a deep ditch yesterday. They seem to be okay aside from a lot of pain, but I can't talk them into going to the doctor to get themselves checked out, so naturally I'm still worried about them.
It was 2 days after our big snowstorm in Portland, it had warmed up a lot yesterday, and the roads were mostly pretty clear, but they hit a patch of ice hiding in the deep shade. So please remember to continue being cautious. They were so lucky to walk away from what happened yesterday.
I'm an hour east of LA, at about 1600 ft. elevation. We've had occasional flurries that don't stick but we had a significant (for us) amount of snow stick to surfaces for 5-6 hours yesterday after it fell. I've never seen anything like it the 21 years I've lived down here!

we were there all last week and while some of the days were chilly, I was also able to run in a tank top while I was there and we saw flowers coming up. My sister said she started her garden already!

We are in the Chicago western suburbs and had snow 2 days ago, yesterday was 50*, last night poured rain and thunderstorms, and today we had a tornado warning. WTF. Crazy weather up, down, all around is pretty typical here, but not in the span of 2 days and thunderstorms in February.
