Bernadine so many kids around here have been getting strep, not sure if that is true of your area. If she is negative for Covid I'd get her in ASAP to get tested and to get on meds and nip it in the bud.
Ugh, I slept like absolute garbage last night. Went to bed around 10:30, and I just laid there as it became 11, then 12, then 1…I definitely fell asleep before 2, but omg today is going to drag. I am so tired.
I’m running out for a pedicure this afternoon and I can’t guarantee that I won’t fall asleep in the massage chair.

Bernadine, sorry! Sounds a lot like strep. But at least if so, easy to get on meds and in our house very rarely moves between people.
I haven't gotten anything for the damn leprechaun trap yet. I hate this stuff, but the kids do it at school and are so excited. Fingers crossed there are some green/gold items left
I really like getting everything done on one day but when it’s that day and I am facing down the dentist, the post office, Costco and bill paying with my dad—I’m not so sure I do like this method!
I have the dentist at 9, but it was easier to take the kid to before care and the dog to daycare and come home than trying to do it and make the dentist.
I’ve been sick more than I’ve been well in the last 30 days. I coughed so hard/so much the other day I threw up. I probably should have gone in to get tested for strep (I tested like 5x for Covid and was negative)

My coworker I was working heavily with the last couple weeks (virtually) got strep like two weeks ago. Then on Monday she woke up and could barely talk. Strep again!
Bernadine, I hope it's not strep and she feels better very soon. My husband just text me (I am in the office) that DS is complaining that he feels like he's going to throw up. Ugh.
I volunteered to chaperone a field trip that is next Thursday but I haven't heard if I've been selected yet. I guess I need to email the teacher but I also don't want to seem to eager because I'm not! This is middle school we're talking about haha
DD got a pair of chacos and she is obsessed with them. She was very disappointed that she couldn't wear them to school today (it's 29 F).
I'm wiped today. Took a muscle relaxer last night and was comotose through the alarm/snooze cycle. Not sure if it was the muscle relaxer or finally getting some relief from the jaw pain that let me sleep like that.

I knew mortgage interest rates were up but I guess I didn’t realize how high they had gotten, yikes. We’re thinking of buying again in a few years so I was just looking at places and trying to figure out how much we could afford and that’s when I discovered the current interest rates. It must really suck for people buying now especially in hcol. Makes such a difference of thousands of dollars per month!
MH and I were feeling burned out in the fall, so we really dropped off on kids activities through the winter session. We've all of a studden ramped up in March and I'm feeling anxious about it!
This month will be the worse and we'll be driving to the pool constantly! But the kids will get a good swim refresher prior to our trip to Mexico, so I think it will be worth it.
I'm really excited about DD's volleyball league this year. She did it last year and her coach was inexperienced, but did a great job with the girls...however, there weren't enough coaches in the league, so he was consistently coaching both his team AND their competitors. This league has teams with coaches, drafts to balance the teams, and options for workshops.
Is throwing up a symptom of strep? I didn't know that.
I can't wait for this week to be over. No one has been sleeping well, I'm ready for the weekend. I hate the time change.
It can me. Especially in younger kids, they often complain of stomach pain or actually throw up. Lots of times that's the sign of strep more than a sore throat in my experience.

My kid has had strep several times and never once complained of a sore throat. It is always a headache followed by a stomach ache.
Last night we saw the ISS fly overhead. It was fairly easy to figure out where to look with this website: spotthestation.nasa.gov/. The ISS just looked like a star that was moving REALLY fast across the sky. It's hard to believe there were people in it!

That's so cool! We saw it during Covid lockdowns, the school science center posted about it so everyone was outside looking for it. We need to do it again!
I have an annoyance at work. I work in software development and we release weekly. Something was supposed to go out last week, but someone on the team didn't know a rule about something so it didn't go out. Ok, fine, it's not an emergency, but one of our stakeholders was really waiting for this. So this week, I tell her on Tuesday that it will be available to her Friday morning after our Thursday night release. Except that yesterday, our lead developer didn't do something in time (something simple, I don't know why he didn't do it, I have my suspicions) and now it can't go out again. I have to tell our stakeholder she won't have it for another week and I really want to tell her exactly why because I am really fed up with our lead dev right now for this and other reasons. But that would be unprofessional.

DH got home last night at 11 pm after being gone at a work conference. I am glad he is home.
It's our dog's 3rd birthday today! We'll give him some yogurt and blueberries for his birthday treat.
DD stayed home from school today due to a mild sore throat. She is competing in the Odyssey of the Mind state competition on Saturday, so I would rather she rests today and tomorrow (no school tomorrow) so she is feeling good on Saturday.

Our neighbor is a nurse and she told me her kids always throw up first and then the signs of strep show up. I don't think all kids do this, but it can be a sign.

I am feeling the effects of the time change hard today. I am so tired. Coffee isn't helping. I slept ok last night, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I can't wait for the weekend so I can sleep in.
I'm sitting at the dealer getting an oil change for H's car with a hot coffee in a comfy chair. Not mad at it honestly.
I'm off tomorrow and going to a friend's for a March Madness party at noon. Any ideas for a snack I can make that would be OK to sit out for a bit? I don't want to deal with cleaning a crusty crockpot later after I've had too much to drink, so nothing like that lol.
My kid is another who vomits with strep, more often than he gets a sore throat with it, actually.
I also slept like trash last night so sorry to everyone else in the same boat. DS has had a major growth spurt and because we kept him back a year, I'm having all kinds of anxiety about him being the tallest by far in his class and the oldest at school next year or like, for the rest of all his school years. I think the panic that comes in the middle of the night about kids has to be the worst kind of all.
