It can me. Especially in younger kids, they often complain of stomach pain or actually throw up. Lots of times that's the sign of strep more than a sore throat in my experience.
My kid has had strep several times and never once complained of a sore throat. It is always a headache followed by a stomach ache.
We’ve had this too. Docs thought I crazy since they didn’t present with classic symptoms.
Had to take kid to the orthodontist this morning to fix a couple broken things and we timed everything perfect accounting for school bus traffic on the route and got there just a couple minutes early and then I had told her we'd probably get to her school at about 9:00 and we pulled in to school at 8:59. She was so impressed with me LOL.
Typically Thursdays are very light meeting wise for me and it's my WFH day but for some reason I have 4 of them today - womp womp.
We don't currently have anything planned for the kids' spring break, but I'm leaning towards taking most of it off myself and finding some stuff to do locally, and maybe spending a couple of days with my SIL and her family. Hoping DH will be home, and can take some of that time too.
And then mid-April I think I'm going to use the end-of-quarter school break to take DD to NYC.
Basically I don't wanna work and am looking for any opportunity to not, lol.

Count me in with those who slept like crap and is exhausted today. I was panicked about my flight this morning so I actually changed it yesterday afternoon (based on predicted bad weather I was able to get a flight connecting somewhere else). So I thought great, now I won’t be in an anxiety spiral and will be able to sleep. Haha, nope. Still major anxiety about did I do the right thing, did this cost my work too much money, what if I shouldn’t have done it. Literally no reason for those thoughts, my work wouldn’t let me change if it was too expensive, and my boss is like, whatever, just be safe.

I’ve been trying to get a pedicure since my birthday (feb 24) and for various reasons it hadn’t worked out til today. I might fall asleep here and you’re damn right I’m getting all the upgrades. I can’t sleep recently, and the baby’s weird sleep regression/David’s being sick all week/Lucy being Lucy isn’t helping much. I’ll say it again, H’s working 2-10 fucking sucks for me and we are going to have a talk this weekend.
We are getting my daughter an iphone for her 11th bday on Sunday. We are android people. Is there a way to manage iphone settings/controls/etc from our android phones? We've avoided Apple products for a reason, lol!

Whyyyy is my brain like this?!
You did the right thing. It's far more economical that you get to attend your work event than to deal with crazy delays!
I had a situation a few years ago where I changed a flight due to predicted inclement weather. Other attendees decided to be more economical, but the cost of changing plans was a drop in the bucket compared to overall travel expenses (these were business class tickets to Asia). This meant that I made it to the 2 day meeting in time and they missed all of the first day and part of the second. It seemed so ridiculous to travel so far just to miss the meeting!
Your presence has a huge value compared with travel costs!

She's going to lose her mind!
Not that we've been able to find - we were in the same boat last year. My thought was that if she had struggles we wouldn't be able to help her but that ended up being laughable because she figures out technology stuff way faster than H or I can. We just do everything on her phone and even then sometimes she has to show us LOL. For her just knowing that we will look at anything at anytime has kept her in line.

bears, thank you for that! You are right, and the reason I jumped on changing my flight is bc I do HAVE to be at this event. I definitely needed that reminder today 😊
DS2 had strep twice in a month, first it some other strain of strep that didn’t show up on the test but responded to antibiotics and then a few weeks later he got strep A. It sucked both times. I’ve been waking up at 2am the last few nights, sleeping restlessly until about 3am and then going back to sleep. It’s fine this week because I’m off of work but it better knock it off next week when I go back to work. DH is coming home tonight from work travel. He was gone last weekend Thursday-Sunday for a guys ski weekend and then went to Arizona Tuesday-Thursday for work. I feel like I haven’t seen him and I’m tired of spending all of my time with the boys. Bring in someone new to talk to!

We are on the downside of March and the end of our Fiscal year. Which means our workload doubles, if not triples, because people are wanting to purchase items to use up their budget. The demands that it needs to be invoiced in March etc. It is stressful to the point that I am clenching my teeth in my sleep. UGH.
And to top all that off, I am a somewhat newly CASA Advocate and I haven't been able to attend the first couple of hearings because they didn't tell me in time about the hearing or I already had vacation plans set. My next hearing is 5/4 and I will now have to miss that one because of work and a conference that I have to attend. I have a wonderful supervisor, but dang it, it just really irks the hell out of me that I am going to have to miss this one as well.
And can someone tell Texas that this "hot/cold/hot" temperature is crap and to stop it?? Just get to something nice and stay there!!

Well in calling the sixth pharmacy we think we have one that will be able to fill DD2’s prescription for antibiotics. She’s allergic to penicillin so that doesn’t help but apparently that isn’t much easier to find right now either.
I’m a little annoyed at the doctors office who was just like yea antibiotics are in short supply right now 🤷♀️
Speaking of scales, my H told me today what he weighs and I was dismayed to find I weigh 8lbs more. He is only an inch taller than me but he eats a lot more junk and gets less movement than I do, so what the hell? We eat basically the same meals most days so I would have thought he was heavier. Stupid female bodies. I really try to focus on health more than weight anyway but it still made me annoyed.
I ushered the Broadway tour of To Kill a Mockingbird last night, and it was really well done. I did not like the actress playing Scout but all of the other acting was good. It was not over until 11pm so I am so tired today! Also idk what happened to the arch of my left foot, but it started hurting while I was there last night and still hurts today. Why does my body hate me?
As an update to swim meet from last weekend, DD absolutely killed it! She made some huge time cuts and made it to all of the A finals. She is so competitive and really knows how to turn it on.
She is SO close to getting the team record for the 50 back, which is saying a lot bc there is an older girl that holds most of the other records. We are going to Eastern Zones at the end of the month so hopefully she can cinch it then!
I'm also annoyed because I expressed interest in a $10 vase someone was selling on our neighborhood garage sale page and she wants to meet up and I'm like "Just give me your address and sit it on your porch." And I understand safety and all that, but the point of this group is it's limited to just our neighborhood and you can see my FB profile and I don't want to set an appointment to get a $10 vase, I want to be able to just swing by and grab it. So I think I'm going to just say I'm not interested anymore lol

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed TKAM; we're going on Saturday. Thanks for your restaurant recommendations, btw. We decided on Sammy's Trattoria and the menu looks great!

Yay! I hope you enjoy both the show and the food - you'll have to let me know what you think!

House cleaner comes today! Yay!
I originally read this as 'took the kid to the orthopedist to fix a couple broken things' and I was all WOAH at you being all blase at your kid being broken. I had to go back and re-read may times to catch my error. I'm glad it was just mouth hardware that was broken!
My dd didn't realize she had musical rehearsal before school this morning. She normally sets an alarm and gets up early, so when I went in to wake her she was all thrown off and didn't believe me she had it at first, and then she had to rush to get ready and was NOT happy, but we made it on time.
My stomach has been off all week, and I'm starting to get worried it's a reaction to some of the meds I'm on and not just a stomach bug like I thought or something and that I need to message my dr, but I don't want to do that, so I'm just hoping it'll resolve on it's own.

One of my girls used to vomit with strep and with ear infections, too. #anecdotes
Also, add me to the list of exhausted! And I went to bed with the kids, around 8:30. I woke up a few times, thinking it was time to get up, only to find out it was still the middle of the night, but I didn't otherwise have a bad night. Makes no sense.
My cleaners are coming. Yay!
Question: I know cargo shorts are the butt of the joke when it comes to middle-age men. But are cargo pants a big no-no for women? I mean, I'm not exactly a fashionista and can't say I typically worry too much about "trends," but are these hideous? I think they're cute, but maybe I'm nuts.
Amazon link for paper bag waist pants - khaki cargo I bought the gray, which don't have cargo pockets, and the length is a little off. I don't know why every color in this listing is technically a different style, but I want to see if the length varies, too.
I want some casual summer pants for, well, summer and also an April vacation in Florida. I have heavy legs and really am not comfortable in shorts. I used to wear jeans all summer, so I'm making strides!

We were told that you can't. We are all android too but we wanted to get a watch that would work without a phone for our son and the apple watch is the only one that's supposed to. But they said we would not be able to set anything up without our own apple phones. That wasn't happening. LOL
I got a recipe for Lucky Charms ice cream. I'm going to surprise my son with it tomorrow. I hope it tastes as amazing as I think it will.
I think I'm going to watch Mean Girls with my son this weekend. They are filming the movie version of the Broadway show near us and it is so cool to see all the North Shore HS stuff.
My walking and standing aren't the greatest at the moment due to my MS. But I want to go to a concert over the carnival season with my friends. No seating is provided. I could walk with a small camping stool that I use but I hate being low when everyone else is standing up. I like it when I have a bar height stool to sit on as then I can talk to people standing etc.
Is there any such thing as a portable standing height stool that I could use?

I don't think so. We have androids. We originally bought our kids android phones but when they wanted to switch to an iPhone we said they could if they paid for it. Which they did, but it's frustrating to lose any sort of remote control over their phone.
We do still have app limits and downtime set on DS' (14) phone. We don't have any limits on DD's (16) phone. For the app limits it basically just tells him he has run out of time - but he can easily add more time without us having to provide permission. Annoying, but he knows we check it so we can see if he goes over what we allow. For downtime he needs a password to shut it off, and he doesn't have the password.
