Presumably counsel knows when they’re taking a position/making an argument/filing a motion that is way out on the edge (or past the edge) of frivolity, and has the potential to result in sanctions. When that is on the table and the client insists on proceeding, can the firm pass those costs on to the client? Asking for … TFG’s counsel.

I’ve been waiting for this one. He’s literally been doing this for decades should have faced the consequences a long time ago and never been on the Apprentice or become President. Anyone in the realm of commercial real estate or the construction industry knew he was a huge red flag, bully and fraud in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

“The decision could terminate his control over a flagship commercial property at 40 Wall Street in Lower Manhattan and a family estate in Westchester County. Mr. Trump might also lose control over his other New York properties, including Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan and his golf club in Westchester.”
I’m still not sure I fully understand this component from a legal perspective, but seems to be the biggest FU from todays outcome.
And I’m here for it!!
Edit: “saying that the former president and the other defendants, including his two adult sons and his company, ignored reality when it suited their business needs.”
I wondered that too. Maybe she’s no longer part of that side of the Trump business? She’s had her own clothing label for awhile (last I was paying attention to stuff like that).

They had MAL valued at a billion dollars. Lolololol!

This is giving her NO grace, but I feel like she's the smartest of the lot and I wouldn't be surprised if she realized it's probably best to distance herself from her dad's businesses. Not that she wouldn't try to profit off of her connection, of course! But legally - she may have realized "get out!!!".
Charges had been dropped against Ivanka because of a statute of limitations:
In a ruling on Tuesday, the Appellate Division of New York’s Supreme Court dismissed the claims against Ivanka Trump, ruling that they were barred by the state’s statute of limitations. While claims over alleged wrongdoing after February 2016 were permissible, the court said, Ivanka Trump had stepped back from involvement in the Trump Organization and wasn’t accused in the lawsuit of any misconduct during that later time period.

I think she saw the writing on the wall years ago, got attorneys, and isolated her potential liability. She had that kind of expression on her face all the way back on the Apprentice.

Maybe, but she was still heavily involved in his administration. The only one that really kept out of most things is the daughter that everyone forgets about.

I think this is because these properties are tied up as assets in one of his trust or businesses, and the ruling is basically breaking those up and removing them from his control.

These business practices have been well known for a long time. I know part of Trump’s “magic” is that he does these frauds and lies in full view. I have been wondering, for years, how much longer it would last.
CNN said the orange idiot didn't need to be in court today. He said he was there to, "Watch the witch-hunt" himself. He's used the whole day as a free media day for himself.
So, he’s basically admitting that he’s a lying liar that lies, but it’s not fraud because the banks are too stupid and didn’t read his “worthless” clause in his financial reports. HE is admitting the intent of the clause is to basically say “we may have inflated some stuff, figure it out on your own, we won’t be held liable”.

They cut away from him as did moments later msnbc. Finally they seem to be getting it that they should give him free media space to campaign
Apparently Trump has indicated that he's going to testify. I'm curious what is going to come out of his mouth, and how deep he's going to dig his hole.

Much like with Sara Palin, SNL will literally be able to repeat what he says verbatim. No parody will top the original.

He's his own worst enemy, but yet his followers don't see it....

This case just keeps getting wilder. Most (all?) of the witnesses up to this point keep saying Trump and his three older kids were directly involved in everything.

I don't think Trump grasps that he's not getting out of this.
this is the one joy I take from him being President - he put the spotlight on himself to a degree where people really couldn’t ignore his shit. Not that some of this wouldn’t have happened anyhow - but he didn’t help himself.
