I have reached the crescendo of Twitter loathing. For some reason it’s shoving NHL content down my throat and I cannot figure out why. I have not viewed, let alone liked, anything NHL related in years. But my trending sports is alll NHL topics and games and live scores. Even during MLB and NFL games. I mainly use Twitter for sports and animals. I like to follow games live when I can’t watch. Now I can’t. I can’t even find an option to click not interested in this topic.
The amount of rage I’m feeling about this is unhealthy.

I saw George Lopez last night and it was a really fun show! I took a tumble on Tues and landed on my backside but it’s still really bothering me now. Sit to stand, getting on and off the toilet, etc…
Can you break your tailbone and not know it? Or am I just old and my body is breaking down? Dr. Google says only an X-ray will tell. I was walking down some stairs but missed the last 4, so I didn’t fall from any great height but would you go to urgent care for something dumb like “I might have broken my coccyx”?
We’re going to the Eras tour movie next weekend so I ordered a few things for E to wear. I heard people may make bracelets, but I don’t think we’ll have time. 😬
My kid made it into the Art Guild at school! 40 kids from 4th/5th sent in artwork, 20 were picked.
DH and I have a wedding for two of my employees tonight. The groom used to work for me, retired in 2021. Bride works for me now. They’ve been together for a decade, but after a health scare, are making it official. I’m so happy for them!
I feel like we went from summer last weekend near 90 to late fall/winter. We had to put our heat on last night. It's only in the 30s right now. Not ready for this. I wanted some mild 60s/70s where I could open the windows for awhile.
How do you decide on the safety of canned food with dents? USDA says a deep dent is one you can lay your finger into, but I can’t visualize what that means. I think my diced tomatoes can has a small dent on the bottom edge, but the curve of my finger fits, so maybe that’s deep? I’ll probably end up not using it, but it seems wasteful.

DS1 had a special evening CC practice/intersquad meet last night. It was cold and DD had just finished swim practice so her hair was wet and we waited in the car for him as her swim club practices at his high school so at least it was all there together. His practice had no end time, but with DH out of town I didn't want to run her home just to turn around to get DS1 as it is 30 min roundtrip. So we waited 40 min (luckily I keep sticker books etc in a tote bag in the trunk) and then he asked via text to go out with friends. I said yes. Then followed up with where/when to be home etc. We are going to have to come up with rules as it took too long for him to respond. I know he's learning with this newfound freedom. Still annoying to have waited and then he didn't need a ride. DD and I then drove by several houses on the way home that usually have all out Halloween displays and luckily they did not dissapoint.

Just a reminder that while dogs are amazing, they’re still animals and behave unpredictably sometimes.
I’ve stopped pet sitting inside my home for the most part but I make exceptions sometimes for some of my oldest clients. Well, I had a clients two dogs that I’ve been sitting/walking for many years at my house last night. They’ve been at my house a lot in the past.
As I was taking them out for their before bed potty break, the older dog (chocolate lab) lost his mind. He started barking and growling, doing that whole backup/retreat/I’m gonna eff you up if you come near me stance at me like he’d never seen me before. It was scary. Omg. Thankfully he somehow calmed down and I took him back home (he lives behind me) and will sit at my friends house until she gets back tomorrow, but now I don’t trust the dog and am kinda scared to walk him.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
Leeham Rimes, how old is the chocolate lab? Wondering if the dog is suffering from dementia? OR has something painful that has happened - pain can change dogs a lot.

10. I was wondering the same thing. Usually when a dog is in pain, I notice something about their gait, or eating, or it’ll trigger a response when I touch a particular part of the body but I didn’t even touch him and wasn’t close to him at all. So weird. I was not expecting that at all. He seems ok at home so that’s good.
ETA: I’m wondering if his parents leaving has trigger some panic in him. They travel often but maybe he’s less adaptable as he gets older.

Last day of COVID Quarantine and I cannot wait to get out of this room! H and DS just left to rent DS’s snowboard equipment for the season. I am going to workout (Peloton app has been the best this week!), and then bleach the heck out of my room. H left cleaning supplies by my door. I have felt fine for days. I cannot wait to get back to normal!

I pretty sure they mean you can lay your finger in it like it’s a trough.
We were supposed to do a day trip today but it’s raining. We have another planned for tomorrow so maybe it is for the best? Both are about 2 hrs away so that might have ended up being too much back to back.
Now I’m trying to figure out what to do today! We made pulla bread French toast and the dogs are snoring and I’m bored. Yesterday was spent reorganizing the house so I’m over that.
DD got a last minute invite for a quinceañera tonight, so we're on an emergency Target run while DS is at art class to find her something to wear and get a card. Cash is appropriate, yes?
This weekend is otherwise unscheduled, and it's so nice.
Do you call your kids’ teachers by their first time when you’re talking to them, like at conference time or when emailing?
Yes. And I feel awkward about it. But, like, I’m not going to call someone the same age as me Mrs. Last name. They’ve all always responded to email correspondence with their first name too for the most part, so I think it’s fine.

That’s what I’ve been wondering. I’ve always used Mrs…but I feel weird when they’re like 25 and I’m 36. But then I feel weird using their first name because they’re the teacher 🤣🤣.
I’m feeling a little stressed about the weekend and everything that needs to get done. Hopefully it won’t feel as chaotic as it does in my head right now.
DS2 has a soccer game today and we’re taking family pictures bright and early tomorrow. Those are our two main things. I also need to grocery shop, figure out some stuff for their Halloween costumes, work on those more, and shop for some miscellaneous things we need for around the house. Thankfully I figured out family picture outfits last night, so that has relieved a lot of the stress. I was feeling so unprepared.
DS2 really wants to go to the quarter arcade too, so I might see about taking him to do that.

Brought to you by next weeks’ conferences 😇
I think this is probably a regional thing. I grew up calling my friends parents by their first names. DH grew up using last names. The norm in our community seems to be first names for my kids’ friends’ parents.
In your situation, I probably just wouldn’t address them by anything. Introduce yourself in person and see how they respond.

I had an intense week and fell asleep last night around 9. I woke up around 7:45 and feel so well rested. We will go ti synagogue tonight and tomorrow morning for Simchat Torah, but we have nothing planned for today and it’s the first day in WEEKS that I can just sit on the couch. I’m so happy.
But I can’t stop scrolling the news from Israel. Because it’s Shabbat and the holiday, I can’t check in with my friends there - I have one who lives in the south, and I’m just hoping she and her family are ok. Anytime there are rockets from Gaza they tend to go live in the bomb shelter near their house 😞
Do you call your kids’ teachers by their first time when you’re talking to them, like at conference time or when emailing?
I call them Mrs. Lastname. I remained friends with two of David's teachers and it took me a really long time to call them by their first name. I'm also in the south and I feel like these types of things are more formal here, like ALL of David's friends call me Mrs.MyLastName and it bugs me but I know it's just a show of respect. I can definitely see how this can be "regional".
Saudade I start right off with first name in emails and when directly speaking to them because we are equals as adults. When talking to DS about them I do Mrs. Lastname. I've been an employee of three school districts on & off since 2010 so maybe that changes my viewpoint. *shrug* Right now DS' teacher is a coworker of mine so it would be weird to call her Mrs. Lastname. Also I tend to communicate with his teachers a lot because my DS is autistic.
The weather is having its last gasp of summer temps this weekend and then we will wave goodbye happily. I'm so ready to be done with tank tops & capris. Jeans, t-shirt and zip up jacket are my favorite outfits. And I run hot so it's nice to stop sweating excessively once the temps get down to the 60s.

When you open the can, the contents will bubble/fizz almost like they're carbonated if the seal was breached.
My dad passed away a month ago. Last night I was on the phone with my brother working on funeral stuff (it's the end of this month) and he's like "we'll get you the death certificate so you can cash your savings bonds" My what? Apparently he had a few thousand dollars worth of savings bonds my dad bought in the 80's and I'm supposed to have them also. But I don't. And he also got some from my aunt who died 11 years ago. But I don't. So I messaged my mom (aunt's sister but divorced from my dad) and she was like "oh I just assumed they gave them to you". I always knew I was the 2nd favorite, but dang.
