I went back to a compounding pharmacy (that is local)4 weeks ago. I’m happier with them overall, and the quality of ingredients. Maybe it’s the wrong move, and I really appreciate the folks on here continuing the discussion about compounding pharmacies, so thank you.
I’ve lost 13 pounds again, but I’m still 17 pounds up from where I was, and 67 pounds from my goal. Overall I feel better. I don’t want to increase my dosage, and might go down just a little bit. It’s nice to not have food mind traffic consuming me, but there’s a line where I just don’t think about it at all. I don’t want to be too close to that, because then I get hangry and my energy is suuuuuper low.
I do well eating about every 2 hours. When my dosage is too high, I don’t remember to do that, and then it goes downhill. And also staying hydrated is SO crucial!! Nausea is so much better if I’m hydrated!!
So. I’ve been having water as soon as I get up, my protein shake and coffee for my morning commute, about 2.5 hours later I have a protein/veg or protein/fruit snack, then about 2-2.5 hours later my lunch, then about 2.5 hours later, another snack, then dinner. Sometimes I also have a snack after dinner.
Overall, I’m happy and I’m losing 1.5-2.5 pounds per week, so not too much, not too little.
Which local compounding pharmacy do you use? If you don't want to put it here, you can DM me. I have been lucky recently that Costco has been able to supply my 10mg (haven't moved up yet, will do that on Sunday), but only one box at a time, not the 3 boxes I'm prescribed. It's fine, whatever. But I'd love to know who is able to do it locally. The ones I called around to aren't doing it. Thanks!
I sent you a PM!
We’re changing insurance next month (different company) but I might just stay with the compounded meds. It’s less stress to just be able to get them and not use insurance & deal with supply issues etc.
I would say that for the entire first year, cravings went away. Since then, if I do have a craving, a bite or two satisfies it every time. Like, I can go get an ice cream cone and very much not finish it, even if it is a small size. Like, take the piece of cake you want, but you are able to stop eating it after a bite or two, you know?
that has been my experience with cravings.
This has been my exact experience too (I've been on Wegovy for almost 2 years now). I do still have to be careful with salty snacks...for some reason if I start eating a bag of my favorite chips, I have trouble stopping at a small serving. But for sweet stuff (and I have a MAJOR sweet tooth), I find myself either not wanting any if it's not something good, or being content with a bite or two of something really good. There are also still times when I'll eat something fabulous like a meal from a great restaurant, and I'll WANT to eat it, but I get to a point where I just can't keep eating.
What time of day do you take your meds? There’s a whole variety of people that suggest Thursday after dinner, but I’m curious when you take it.
I do mine Wed. AM first thing, but I have done Thurs. AMs, too. I like Thurs. AMs because it gives me a day before the weekend to adjust if I feel bad, and it also reduces my appetite over the weekend, where I'm very likely to snack out of boredom. I do notice less effects towards the end of week following each shot, so I try to avoid that time-frame lining up with a weekend.

I do Sunday night. I prefer taking it right before bed to minimize side effects. I take it on Sunday so I can enjoy going out to eat once on the weekend.

I do Friday first thing. I start to feel queasy by the evening and our weekends is when I would usually go all out with drinks and takeout and binge. So this really curbs that for me, so I treat my weekend like a normal day otherwise. I still get my sushi roll and salad for dinner Friday night but I finish them for lunch on Saturday.
I also sleep through most of my queasy period which hits 12-16 hours after my shot, for me.
It took a year of playing around with my shot day and time before finding my sweet spot. Everyone will be different I think! Though most likely do the morning since the icky feelings hit 8-16 hours later and no one wants to feel that way at work I reckon! lol.

Ha! We are the opposite. I do it so when I do go out on the weekends I don’t binge eat like I did before.
I used to frequent these boards years ago and I just remembered about them and stopped by and found this thread. It is nice to see others comments and experiences.
I've been on Wegovy since February. I was diagnosed with GERD about 10 years ago. I was managing it until I started the shots. The heartburn and nausea have ranged from awful to meh, no big deal. I usually suffer from it the first 2-3 days after the injection. I thought I was imagining that side effects were different depending on where I injected the meds and decided to stick with the arm. I did two rounds of 4 shots of 1.0 because that dosage majorly stirred up the side effects. I've done one week of 2.4. I've lost 40 lbs. Still have much further to go.
I was diagnosed with GERD about 12 years ago as well! However, @@@, after getting my son it seems to have gone away. Every now and then since starting these meds I will get symptoms, but it’s very short lived.
I’m sorry you are struggling with this side effect. It’s so uncomfortable :/

My GERD returned before starting Wegovy, but I was managing it fine with a normal dose of Nexium daily. After I started Wegovy, it got really bad even on that, so I had an endoscope done, and now I take 40mg of Nexium twice daily to manage. My GI dr. doesn't love me being on that long-term, but when I started it was also assumed I wouldn't be on Wegovy long term so she said it was fine to take until I was done with Wegovy. I'll have another appt. in the fall, and I'll be interested to see if the plan changes now that it's accepted that these meds are likely going to have to be taken for the duration unless you want to regain everything you lost.
I take mine early in the day on Friday. I also like it to be strongest over the weekend.
I take mine on Saturday morning. When I first started (4 weeks ago), I chose that day so that if I had any side effects, I wasn't having a problem at work. When I had my first appt at the clinic that prescribed the meds, the doc recommended taking them in the evening, so that any effects were slept off. When I picked up the meds from the pharma, she had the opposite opinion; do the shot in the morning so that I would be able to sleep. I already have a hard time sleeping (not falling asleep, but staying asleep), so I didn't want to mess that up further, ergo shots in the a.m.
Is anyone on Wegovy 1.7? I just started on Saturday after being on 1.0 since April. I feel more hungry on this dose but also when I do eat I feel more nauseous. Also really tired. I drank a coffee to help me wake up and got half way through and super jittery. Anyone else have similar side effects. Hoping it goes away soon.

I'm not currently on Wegovy, but I was previously for a little over a year. I was much more impacted by coffee/caffeine when on it; I'm a coffee junkie and had to half my normal coffee-ing to avoid the jitters while on Wegovy. I also felt extremely tired the first couple of days post-shot on Wegovy. This drowsiness is significantly less for me on tirzepatide.
Do you all use an at home sharps container for your used injectors? I know you can also use an old laundry bottle or something similar. Then what do you do with them? Take them to the pharmacy?

I use empty laundry bottles and write on it in several places with sharpie SHARPS do not recycle, and then duct-tape it shut when it's full and throw it in the regular garbage (which is allowed where I am).

You take 40 mg of Nexium twice daily? Hmmm, interesting. I take 40 mg once a day. I've wondered if upping it would help. I need to look into this.

I ordered a small sharps container from amazon and when it is full I can bring it to the fire station in our town for disposal.

My county's recyling center will take syringes for free as long as the container is sealed. I used a jug of water.

I do exactly this as well.
This is a really dumb question, but how do you verify that this is cool to do? I still - STILL! - have a sharps container partly full of lancets from my 2015 pregnancy with gestational diabetes because I have not been able to find anywhere that would take it. It moved with us from one house to another in 2021 and this is freaking ridiculous. I've tried hospitals, pharmacies, asked my PCP for a suggestion, our town recycling day does not take them, etc.

I took it to my doctor's office.
That sounds nice and easy. But when I said my PCP didn't have a suggestion, I meant he also doesn't take them. If he did I would not need a suggestion from him. My ob/gyn doesn't take them either.
I've also asked a local friend whose kids have T1D, and she said her kids use CGMs and don't have lancet disposal issues so she isn't sure.
I sincerely don't know where else to try. Hence the question that you quoted, of how does one find out if/how you can just throw it out?
If there's a statute of limitations, I've gotta be getting close at 9 years. (Kidding.)
Susie, check with your garbage collection -- ours is the city/county-- it has instructions on the website for sharps disposal. Regular garbage with similiar treatment as others listed.

I asked the pharmacist. I guess I took her word for it, but she was someone I knew pretty well at the time (who has since left my local pharmacy, boo, so much turnover in retail pharmacies, not that I blame them for leaving).
So it sounds like trying various hospitals (we have 3 in the county) is probably the easiest. I wonder if I just tried at the one hospital during covid or something and it was temporarily suspended.
orval, I just checked our trash collector's website and they have detailed recycling guidelines but nothing about sharps at all. We don't have trash collection as a town service, so there are a couple private services that we can use. Their websites are all pretty thin, but it sounds like a hospital should take them.

I meant I took them when I was going through IVF/pregnant to the doc who ordered them, not to my PCP.
