Do you all use an at home sharps container for your used injectors? I know you can also use an old laundry bottle or something similar. Then what do you do with them? Take them to the pharmacy?
In NC, you can put them in any thick walled plastic container with a secure lid and throw them in the trash instead of recycling. I used to use a fiber supplement container for regular syringes for my dog's injections, but for the tiny ozempic ones, I've just been using prescription medicine bottles since they are smaller and easier to travel with.
Officially down 50lbs from my high weight, 40lbs from when I started Zepbound. I’m on 5mg, started at 2.5. I never thought this was possible and resisted meds for a long time but so glad I took the leap.

At the Week 6 mark (clinic visit yesterday), down 15 lbs on W (did 2 months of the .25). Going up to .5 in Month 3. I get the InBody analysis each time I go and I really like seeing all the stats and adjusting various things accordingly. I have a long journey in front of me, but it's motivating to see/know that it's working.

So I moved up to 10mg MJ 3 weeks ago (took my 3rd shot yesterday) and I gotta say - I think this is my dose. I feel great - no bad side effects, I can go #2 fine, no nausea, and the scale is moving again. My food noise is GONE again, my satiety is up again, and I just feel so good. Thank goodness, because 7.5 was just not cutting it.
Any protein shakes you recommend? I need them to be as non-milky as possible. LOL
I like the Seeq Pink Lemonade. I also have the grape but it’s not as flavorful. 1UP also has some clear proteins. I have the lemon cream and it has good flavor but I wish it were a bit stronger.

I’ve been stalled at this weight for 3.5 weeks. I think I’m overcompensating when I finally remember to eat. But also, it’s just normal to not continue to drop 2+ pounds per week. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!
I finally hit the 50lb mark! Woo hoo! Moved back down to 1.7 Wegovy about 10 weeks ago and that did the trick to break my stall. I'm down 10lbs since moving down.
So it sounds like trying various hospitals (we have 3 in the county) is probably the easiest. I wonder if I just tried at the one hospital during covid or something and it was temporarily suspended.
orval , I just checked our trash collector's website and they have detailed recycling guidelines but nothing about sharps at all. We don't have trash collection as a town service, so there are a couple private services that we can use. Their websites are all pretty thin, but it sounds like a hospital should take them.
Did you check your county? They might have a recycling center. That's where I recycled my cat's insulin needles. Kept them in a big jug of water (empty) and once full, the county recycling center took them.
I had an unrelated appointment with my PCP recently and took the opportunity to bring these meds up. He was very supportive while not being at all judgmental. We changed another med at that visit (and went way over my appointment time) so he wants to hold off until my follow up. Since I don't want to see anyone else it won't be until September but I guess that just gives me more time to research what to expect. He did say that actually getting the drug is still an issue but they have someone in their office who is an expert.
I haven't told MH yet. I'm not entirely sure why but I think it's at least partially because I am worried about how it will effect our social life, which primarily revolves around going out for food & drinks.

I had initially talked with my doctor in November about the meds and didn't mention it to MH until I had gotten the prio authorization approved in the end of December/early January. He was surprised, but supportive. We still go out to dinner, but I make sure I don't overeat and I limit what I drink.
Last summer I was put on phentermine and lost close to 30 lbs before it lost its effectiveness. A year later I’ve gained almost all of it back. I’m so disappointed and annoyed but I also know that my current lifestyle doesn’t allow me to regularly exercise or prepare healthy meals. I wasn’t ready a year ago but I can’t look in the mirror, fit in my clothes, sleep well, etc. Something’s got to give. I’m going to see if I can get in with my doctor next week and talk about my options. As I recall, Wegovy is what is offered with my insurance.
Is anyone on the other side and/or what is the plan when you’ve met your goal? My fear is a regression and not maintaining the weight loss. I’m so sick of the rollercoaster ride.

I am down 18 lbs from where i started Mounjaro. I titrates up from .5 to .75, and that's been where the most loss has come from. I am still dealing with nausea, usually a day after i have the shot. Its been difficult this week just because of work and stuff.
I had been doing decently on Mounjaro, but since switching to Ozempic, I’ve lost nothing. I’m on a lower dose going up soon, so hopefully it’s the dose and I start seeing some weight loss. I am going to check to see if the Mounjaro supply is better yet too. Anyone know?
meowmaps I anticipate needing to be on at least a low dose of the injections forever (if I can get it covered). When I go off, my brain is immediately loud with food noise again, and I know it all will come back.

Thank you for that feedback. That’s what I’m concerned about too - the food noise.

Does anyone else’s insurance coverage make them do patronizing nutrition courses before completing pre-authorization? I just don’t think this is for me. It’s all honestly too much work, when weight loss is already *so much work*.

I wrote my own preauthorization to send to insurance, and it didn't work, no surprise there. I'd be tickled pink to jump through a few hoops to get a pre-auth through my insurance.
I never made much effort to lose weight prior to glp1 drugs because it was torture and didn't work anyway. With the meds, 50 pounds melted off without much thought. I'd say it's worth it to take a few steps now to free your mind from food noise and the resulting negative self-talk when the food noise becomes too much. That was my routine for the last 15 years and I'm so thankful to not worry about that at all anymore.

I will be moving up from 1.0 to 1.7 on We Govy for my next dose. I am worried about side effects, although I didn't really have any before. My weight loss has stalled some in recent weeks so I'm hoping moving up helps with that.

Well, please feel free to sit through these patronizing videos.
I’ve been on a diet for 25 years. I think I’m good.

I mean, have you tried diet and exercise? If you just worked harder, you’d be thinner. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I had to meet with a dietician for 3 months before they would approve coverage.
