ssmjlm , that sucks. I know I say this every time, but how are these people not responding? Do they not need a job? Did your employer take too long to respond? I don't know, I get guilt over withdrawing application if I've gotten as far an interview opportunity.
I think some people think that even if a job isn't posted as remote, there is a possibility it is and when we say in the interview invite it isn't, they don't want it.
We're also hiring for a very quick paced office at a level that there are a lot of openings for. So competition is big.
Oh yes been there on the I'll apply and ASSume it's remote or I can change the posted hours all the way through offer. A friend and former colleague made it all the way to an offer at my last place of employment only to turn down the offer because it wasn't remote. As awful as the employer was, they were ALWAYS up front from "would you like to do an interview" through offer that it's an in-person no remote option. Apparently they had the opposite problem because this person (edit) got a call after turning down the job with a hybrid half day in person/half day at home position, but I think they've gone full in-person.
Anyway yeah I applaude people for aiming high, but don't waste an employers time.
sadie , a different friend of mine got their EdD in Leadership (HE focus) from the University of the Cumberland's online and loved it. Sadly in my state you have you have to go private for an online doctorate, or go to another state school and pay OOS tuition rates.

That is one of the programs I'm looking at. Glad to hear it was a good experience.

Little behind, but I would LOVE a library that's open late and offers fancy drinks including alcohol even if it's BYO. I've only gone to one or two evening library events, but a glass of wine would have been better. Plus my library has been my escape lately. They have options to purchase a limited number of non-alcohol hot and cold drinks, but I never take them up on the offer.
OMG the guy in the cube next to me keeps burping. I swear if I start to smell them I'm going to lose it on him. So gross.
At my first job, I had to share an office with a guy who was super proud of his Homer Simpson burps. Apparently some of “the other girls” complained and our boss had to talk to him. And he came back to the office and was just all “you don’t have a problem with it do you? It’s funny?”
lordy I wonder what ever happened to him. And can I remember his name so I can linked in rabbit hole and see if he is still employed by a reputable company?
Oh wait. He’s Republican? Maybe not sex toy links then. But come on Dems. We can do better than this.
Well, it's the primary so I'm assuming the other republican is responsible. It says it's paid for by Defendingamericapac.com, which just links to a full commercial on, uh, the same theme, with no information about who the pac is or what they stand for.
Houck is an objectively terrible person, so the fact that they are campaigning against him with this info, and not, oh, say, the fact that he was charged with assaulting a 70 year old planned parenthood volunteer, supports the theory that it's the R opponent.
(Also he has 7 kids. WHEN WOULD HE HAVE THE TIME??)
Oh good!
Spam them with sex toys, then. All the sexy toys. Make them take you off their list.

Oh I’m experiencing this. We are hiring for an in person adjunct teaching job- think 1-2 sections. Applicants from all over the country. I know you aren’t moving here to make $4-8k.
I took my dog in for arthritis meds, and we decided to try a new monoclonal antibody shot that is supposed to work magic. It was $80. And my brain, who has seen bills for cancer-related monoclonal antibodies was like, damn, that’s cheap! Anyway, doctor said it feels like the arthritis is in her knee, based on swelling and stuff. And it was suddenly like, oh, so that’s why she holds her leg out and dangles in when she pees.
This morning, she was squatting with both legs. No dangle!
I am so happy that is appear to be working. Also, that we have something really objective to measure improvement and to trigger the next dose. Since they said it will be every 4-8 weeks, depending on how she feels. And I have something I can see that is clear. Not just “hmm, is she seeming a bit less … something.” She is a Jack russel, so, you know, she is very bouncy and jumpy even when in pain!
We started this shot for my lab last October. She turns 15 on the 21st and it works so well. Our vet said 4-6 weeks and I can tell at about 3.5 weeks that it is starting to wear off. The only problem is to keep her from acting like a crazy puppy because she feels good.
Can you tell me more of the logistics of this? Do you have to make a vet appointment every month for it? How much does it cost? Our 13yo lab is on pills right now, but I'm wondering if the shot would be better. We're currently paying $90/month for the pills
Wallflower What to give for a wedding gift - at an unknown location? Gosh, that is tough. If you are not going, I wouldn’t feel too badly about not giving that much. At least $100? Is that low for a wedding you are not attending? Were you thinking $50, $200? How do you decide?
pandorica, we make a vet tech appointment every month and are usually in and out of the office within 15 minutes. It started off right around $80 a shot and has now gone up to $90. We only pay for the shot when we go in, we don't have a vet visit which is helpful. They also weigh her each month to make sure they give her the right amount based on weight.

Thanks! I didn't realize the $90 we're paying didn't include her other med, so I guess we're paying $105/month 🤢 so I'll definitely have to check into this if we can save even a little! I figured it would be a visit cost on top.
The French Prime Minister is staying in the same hotel we are and the security and entourage milling around is kind of fun. I keep telling myself to not try to to pet the drug(bomb?) sniffing dogs. Also, the yummy drink I had with dinner was so strong and now I'm definitely tipsy. Such a light weight.
I'd never heard of Strands, off to check it out. I'm kind of iffy on Connections (because I'm not great at it).
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

We had a vet visit the first time, but were told it was a tech appointment for followup. It was $80 for us, but she is a 30 lbs dog, and I assume a bigger dog would need a higher, more expensive dose. So far, it seems to be much better than the carprophen, and also easier. We still have the pills for breakthrough problems, but after a week, we have weaned off them as a daily.
