I got an email last night that the lab results were available in my portal for my Uterine Biopsy. So I immediately logged in to see and it's blank. So now I'm spiraling again thinking that they didn't upload the full results because it's bad news. Anxiety is fun.
On a better note, introducing the kittens to the dogs is going well. My one dog is scared of them, the other is unfazed, and my third just wants to play with them and doesn't understand why they keep running away from her LOL
They are doing the HVAC replacement today. They got here at 830 and if everything goes well (which it won’t because my luck is bad), he says earliest is 2pm. Great.
Painter comes at 10 for an estimate and DH never told me what he told the other company about outside, so??
DD's allergies are bad as spring plants are all blooming right now. I let her stay home from school today.
DS has a baseball tournament this weekend. One of his teammates broke his leg at school yesterday (really bad break, he will likely have to have surgery in the next day or two, so he is out for the rest of the season, I am so sad for him), so they are 9 players (another player is out for the season with an arm injury), just enough to field a team. Hoping and praying for no more injuries this season.
I am leaving tomorrow for Brazil for a work trip. I have my work outfits packed, but nothing else. Really I just need travel clothes and pajamas, plus my toiletries, so shouldn't take more than an hour.

I'd try logging back in this morning. Maybe it hadn't fully loaded yet. Hope it's good news!
Facebook is now recommending me posts from a group called Altered Moments, where people take old Precious Moments figurines and repaint them to look like movie characters, or just to be funny.
I've seen Bob Ross, the clown from It, Wednesday Adams, a stripper. There was one this morning painted like Cousin Eddie from Christmas vacation.

I ordered pencil cases and stickers in the "stars and planets" theme of L's birthday party as the main part of the goody bags, and despite having delivery scheduled for yesterday and saying out for delivery as of 2:24 pm, they never arrived and now say I should contact the vendor to reschedule. I sent them a message last night and am hoping they will arrive today because the party is tomorrow morning! Relatively minor issue in the grand scheme even if they don't show up, but I will be a little bummed since the whole reason I bought online is that stores didn't have anything on-theme, and I do love a theme.
Also, yesterday evening I said to H "I want there to be extra cupcakes in case some people want seconds, but I'm not going to make like 60 or anything". I have 57 cupcakes in my kitchen right now. Oops.

Life is a rich tapestry, man.
I get that same one with the Precious Moments! Why???
I'm feeling a lot better about life now that it's Friday (isn't it funny how that goes, lol). I'm going into the eye doctor at 10:15 to do a trial of putting in contacts for the first time. I hope I don't suck at this, as I have a pretty low tolerance for frustration haha. If anyone has tips on this for a newbie let me know!
It's finally a nice weather Friday so I'm hoping to have a fire in the backyard and invite some friends over, and hopefully DS's new neighbor buddies will be around so he can play with them and be entertained.
We had an arborist come by to trim up some trees- and they look awesome (it feels funny to say that about trees, but they really do). He was almost 3x the price of the other non-arborist team that quoted the work, but it was money well spent. We're spinning wheels on the deck, it is so difficult to get a contractor to do non-enormous projects right now because there's so much bigger building going on. And labor is making up 70-80% of the quotes we're getting, it's insane. We may end up waiting it out, frustrating.
My junior has been taking IB exams the past two weeks (going into the next two weeks, too). they're held off campus, so he's excused from school for the whole day on testing days- and he's taking 4 tests this year, which means 8 testing days. It's a lot! Then there are AP tests (at the school) and all the other EOY stuff. My 8th grader has so much going on right now, too- our family calendar is just one solid block of nope.

I don't know what health system you use, but I use Jefferson and I can assure you, they don't do that. I had bad results, and of course I got them after the doctor's office closed. Hope it's nothing!
H is sick. I think it's stress related. On the upside, he's getting a date in writing for when he gets to move to his new position at work today. They verbally offered him the position in December... 5 months ago. If this all goes according to plan he's getting out of accounting on June 1st! *crosses all fingers*
I'm barreling towards summer break and I'm not happy. I'd love year round school. What am I going to do with my kid for 10 weeks? I have lego camp set up for 3 weeks at the end of July and beginning of August and that's it.

me too! And the thrift store paintings being redone with ghosts or whatever.

Still blank this morning. I don't think the office is open today so I guess I have to wait until Monday. Ugh. And thank you.

Hopefully it's just some sort of system glitch and gets fixed. My old provider was actually Jefferson, but they had like a 5mth wait to be seen so I switched to Axia. Thank you.

Between this and all the Dull Men's Club posts that I'm seeing, I'm really confused by the Facebook algorithm. LOL.
I found a sitter for my dad’s dog! Please let that work out! My dad’s health/return to home is still up in the air but this buys us two weeks. She’s not going until Sunday because I have to meet with my dad’s care team on Saturday but it’s good to have it all set up!

I get them too! So random! I think it's hilarious that there are pearl clutchers in the comments about how they ruined a figurine and now they won't be worth money - uhhh, news flash I don't think anyone should bet their retirement on Precious Moments figurines LOL

My son’s birthday was yesterday. I can’t believe he’s 5! We’ve been through so much with him (cleft, surgery, etc.) and now he’s just a big boy/honey badger taking on the world.
His big present is a trip on the “Donut Train” - sort of like the Polar Express, but they’ll serve us donuts and take us on a ride on an historical train. We go tomorrow. He didn’t quite understand a future-present, but is excited because I told him we’ll get to go to the gift shop, too. Just what we need - more toy trains! lol.
My daughter told me on the way to school today, “Mom, I’m so glad you got tickets to that. I’m going to eat, like, 5 donuts.” Me too, kid. Me too.

I want to go on this train for my birthday! Have fun!
We went to a fundraiser at a brewery for my nieces softball team last night. I had 2 (small) glasses of rose and nothing to eat. (there was a food truck, but the line was so long and I didn't really want anything on the menu) so I figured I'd just make a turkey sandwich or eat leftovers when we got home. We ended up staying later than anticipated because the basket raffle drawing was running late and I bought a bunch of tickets (didn't win). So, my mom decided to order another glass of wine (red blend) and they poured her like 12 oz of wine. No joke. It was in a plastic cup and filled to almost the top. So I grabbed an extra cup and split it with her. That put me over the top and coupled with no food was not a good combination. Thankfully H was on top of it and made me eat, take some Advil and drink a bunch of water when we got home. I wasn't drunk, but felt gross since I had no food in my stomach so I originally told him I didn't want to eat anything. He made me frozen waffles and some scrambled eggs and that hit the spot. I woke up thirsty with my mouth so dry this morning... but no hangover, so that is a relief.
I need to bake a cake for my dad's birthday dinner tomorrow. He is a vanilla/vanilla cake/frosting guy, so that's what I usually do. But a couple months ago he came over for dinner and I made banana pudding for dessert and he loved it. So I'm going to try and do a banana pudding cake. I'm thinking a Nila wafer crust in a 9x13 pan with vanilla cake and a layer of pudding instead of frosting. Then decorate it with Nila wafers, whipped cream and sliced bananas.

In the apparently never-ending long saga of my post-Covid life, I brought myself back to the ER yesterday.
I was driving and all of a sudden had such a rush to my head that very quickly traveled all the way down my body. I got very lightheaded and was breathing but taking such deep breaths and my chest/stomach felt almost hollow. It was so scary. I was really close to home, thankfully.
After running all the bloodwork for everything, doing an EKG, doing multiple blood pressure tests in different positions, they say this is just long covid.
My doctor has ordered a visit with ENT to rule out sinus things. I do feel pressure in my head and ears and am taking antihistamines, doing Flonase, etc. to try and relieve that. She thinks they will put the camera in my nose and probably do a CT scan. I wish I would have pushed to do CT at the ER yesterday but I was so tired and dizzy I didn’t really think about it.
Wish me luck as I have an appointment at the DMV today to try and fix this license plate issue.
Backstory - I ordered my mom custom MN Lynx license plates and they sent whiskey plates instead. Whisky plates are issued to people who have a DUI in MN. My mom is 82 and has never drank alcohol other than church wine.

I have a coworker who likes to meddle and stir things up. She's currently trying to stir things up between my boss and me. Thankfully my boss and I are communicating and updating each other on what she's doing, so everything is fine. From what I hear, she's actually caused people to quit in the past. I did have a chat with HR yesterday, so maybe that will help shut this down.
I need to learn that taking a week off “just to bum around and get stuff done” always results in something expensive happening out of nowhere.
Exhibit A: Yesterday our 15 year old dryer stopped working. Google searches and common sense led me to buy a new one, rather than spend the time & money to figure out repairs.
Exhibit B: While driving DS to school and listening to the DJs talk about car issues and how long you wait when the check engine light comes on…my check engine light came on. I realized I was closer to the dealership than any of our usual auto shops, so I drove to the dealership. Thankfully my car is still under an extended warranty, so hopefully some of this is covered, but man, why is an 8 year old Honda having engine issues for the 4th time in 2 years??
Today is H's birthday. He basically doesn't care, so no big plans. I did make a cheesecake this week (his fav) so at least we'll have dessert and a song.
I'm re-rewatching CSI as my "background noise". I'm on S9, and the episode where Taylor Swift is the victim. She's an alive for a lot of backstory flashbacks, but it's just kinda wild to me. She would never be on a procedural drama today. Just nuts to me.
Today is my last day of spring break and I am sad. We go back Monday and the last 5 weeks are an intense, non-stop schedule of events and commitments. I have some work I need to do today so I can re-enter on Monday without being too far behind, but I am hoping to really soak in a day of nothingness too
Wish me luck as I have an appointment at the DMV today to try and fix this license plate issue.

Oh nooooo! How on earth does this happen?
I want the MN Wild plates and my husband wants the new black license plates that I've been seeing everywhere. I have to remember that when his tabs are due next month!
I have been battling a cold all week and also need x-rays to figure out where my IUD went so they can fish it out during my hysterectomy next month, so I took a sick day from work. The x-rays are walk in only, which is making me feel pretty lazy about getting up and going even though the hospital is ~30 minutes from where I live. No other real plans for the day except probably taking a nap and reading the new Emily Henry book.
