Correct - FL restricts convicted felons from voting, and he's registered to vote in FL.
I was watching ABC and David Muir said from his research this is not totally accurate. Florida defers to the state that the conviction is from and in NY certain (lower classes) of felons retain the right to vote. A Level E felon can still vote.

I know he has so many lawsuits going on and to be honest I have just ignored him since he left office, so is this the only one where he could be a convicted felon? Are the other lawsuits civil cases?

No, there are 91 criminal felony charges in 4 cases in 4 states. This was 1 of the 4 with 34/91 felonies.

Unfortunately 2 of the other cases are federal, so he could be elected and pardon himself.
Also the other three cases are unlikely to begin before the election, for a lot of different reasons. I think the GA case is trying to happen in July but will probably be delayed.
The verdict was announced just as I was getting in the car to drive home, and let me tell you I was windows down, blasting NPR while cruising State Street. GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY!!!
Is this something DeathSantis can change easily? Because I bet he would.
I don't know if he would care, but he'd look like an asshole. Floridians voted to allow felons to vote. DeSantis then passed a law that they can only vote if they pay all the fines, etc. associated with the conviction and then muddied the waters more by making it convoluted and difficult.
So I misspoke earlier in that in FL felons CAN vote, but they have a bunch of obstacles in their way, and many found themselves arrested for voting after 2020.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I did not even think about this, because I didn't think he would be convicted.
But ... this means he can't even vote, doesn't it?
He cannot vote.
But he can run for president.
Makes no fucking sense.
I’m unclear on this tbh. I think one of the heads on msnbc said he’d still be allowed to vote in Florida bc it’s a state crime? Nevertheless I expect Desanct to issue a very public statement “allowing” it anyway.
There's no law prohibiting it. I don't think the founding fathers ever thought someone like him would get elected.
Right, considering Hamilton was out of the running by admitting to an affair…
Wasn’t that more of a “don’t bother running because that will make you unelectable”? I mean, in any rational world, this conviction *should* hit that same standard. But, we live in strange and unusual times where 3/4 of votes say this won’t affect their choice. (Full disclosure, it doesn’t make me change my vote or even make me less likely to vote for him, because there was a 0.0% change of that ever happening)
