“This is what you would call a public nervous breakdown,” said Matthew Bartlett, a GOP strategist and former Trump administration appointee. “This is a guy who cut through the Republican primary like a knife through butter. This is a guy who pummeled a semi-conscious president in a debate and literally out of a race. And now this is a guy who cannot come to grips with a competitive presidential race that would require discipline and effective messaging. And we’re seeing a candidate and a campaign absolutely melt down.”
I get a lot of schadenfreude over how shocked some republicans are acting over Trump’s behavior. The last TEN years of this same crap hasn’t clued you in??
I wonder if any of them are going to endorse Trump in public, but not actually vote for him. Spineless weasels. I believe Gov Kemps wife said she will not for him, though. If only the men could have the courage the women do.

Right? It's like when he was salivating over Putin again, and the Senate Rs were all, "What are you doing?"

They act like they have goldfish memory capability. My dudes, he's trash. Always has been. Always will be. We know you thought he was a useful tool and rode his coattails, but his coattails are garbage. Like everything he does, says, or is.
His whole schtick was that Biden was too old. They built their entire campaign around taking down a person, not a platform. Well, now Biden's out, they're all still stuck with the uncontrollable racist fuck that he's always been (but they decided the deal with the devil was worth it), and he's starting to realize that people are laughing AT him. So be careful what you wish for, assholes.

He's never been anything but a liar, a cheat, a fraud, racist, sexist. This is not new information.

I mean, his Tweet yesterday about Biden coming to the DNC and "stealing" the nomination back was classic meltdown. He reminds me so much of a small child that just doesn't know what to do when he's not getting his way. (side note always amusing when BSC GOPs have to "remind us" it's Barack HUSSEIN Obama." Yes racists we know what his full name is.)
I'm sure this is a nightmare for him. When your entire platform is "the other guy is old" and then YOU find yourself to be the old guy, what else is there to do but have a meltdown? Keep melting down, buddy. I know NOTHING will change the minds of forever Trumpers, but even if this keeps some of the GOP at home on election day because he's alienating his own party, I'm here for it.

I want to react positively to this, but then I see white suburban women that I was SURE would vote blue based on their day-to-day values, supporting the party line and staying red. In Texas. It's grosser than gross. They have the audacity (caucasity) to say that my concerns over LGBTQ and women's rights are exaggerated due to the biased media narrative. It doesn't matter when I give them direct references to the Texas GOP platform, Agenda47, Project 2025, etc. that back me up. They are way too comfortable in their privilege.

I’m curious what their day to day values are that they can support a cheating, fraud, lying convicted molester of women. Is it religion? I’m not being snarky, just actually wondering.

He must be low energy because he has Vance out there doing campaign events on the first week of Harris/Walz. Where is the media questioning this because if Biden was MIA it would be covered 24/7 wall to wall

Here is what they believe.....
Translation: I'm voting to keep white people in the positions of power and the white majority in the population.
@@@@@@ Translation: I'm voting so my kids can continue to enjoy white privilege, just like his kids.
spindle92 . OK, I get it. They’re idiots. I have a SIL that has a “patriot” page that posts shit like this. (I hate read it sometimes.). You just can’t talk to them.
I’m really excited about Waltz. We just have to bring over undecideds, republicans with a spread of common sense, and get people out to vote.
michelle mentioned the comfort of privilege. These people are convinced that they have done well by their own bootstraps - no help from white privilege. Their solution is to resist sharing the money they have except to their own families and friend, and not to the undeserving masses. To @@@@ adopt out unplanned or unwanted babies. Ha, I can’t go on. We were at a party years ago before Trump was elected, and these exact things came up. We had a brief discussion and had to leave. There is a lot to that that is really hard to fight. Right now my best resource is donating, because I’m kind of housebound right now and am not a great public speaker. I am more apt to avoid gatherings where the Trumpers will be at.

Money. My parents are of the mind that Democrats tax everyone just to give money away to immigrants. Which is also why they hate immigrants (even though my dad's parents were immigrants). And my dad truly believes that people are out there killing babies after birth. And they think Donald is some badass who could kick anyone's ass. That's about all the substance I can get out of our conversations.
Oh, and my cousins think Democrats are encouraging young people to be gay and trans, which they blame for the downfall of society, or something. They are not religious or anything, just clearly jerks.
And all Republicans I've interacted with truly believe Project 2025 is not going to happen.
That meme doesn't even make sense. Things Democrats largely are not against:
The 1st or 2nd Amendment The military or veterans Freedom of religion
Also its rich to say they're voting for freedom when Republicans have taken so many freedoms away from women and LGBTQ populations.
Exactly. And it’s hard to have a constructive discussion with people who are stupid/selfish/awful enough to buy right into that nonsense. They just won’t believe anything you say.

So what I perceive as their day-to-day values includes: @@@@@@@@@@@
1) supporting LGBTQ kids. Most of these ladies call trans kids their preferred names and pronouns. They support same-sex relationships. They are parents of theater kids. They genuinely believe Trump when he says he isn't coming for the gays. But they seem to ignore all the coming for gender affirming care. They probably think that respecting pronouns and names is different from gender affirming care, and that GAC only includes hormone replacement and surgery, not all the YEARS of therapy.
2) supporting empowered women and the right to choose. They can go out of state for an abortion so the laws passed here just don't affect them. Yet. Let's see what happens when their newly adult kids go off to college and need plan B or an abortion. And many of these b's went through fertility treatment.
3) sensible gun reform to prevent school shootings.
Basically I think what Sent said is the truth. They know they have privileges now and they don't want them disrupted. They wouldn't support reparations if a path was discovered, they don't care about how hard it is to legally immigrate here, nor do they believe the atrocities that happen to the people genuinely trying to enter legally. They believe the rhetoric about the opioid crisis being because fentanyl pours over the border, instead of focusing on its overprescription in the first place. They truly believe the media is so left-wing biased and makes up drama rather than warning of real disaster headed our way.
To add to the discussion, there's just a lot of Rs that aren't tuned into what is *actually* happening, or what happened during his administration. They're operating under the assumption that the Republican party is still moderate/fiscal conservative. They think that the Boeberts and the other clowns are just a fringe group in the party. I bet not a single one of them knows that Trump gutted the RNC and put his people in place. That many of the old guard of Republicans are quitting because they're being ostracized (see Romney). All they ever see and care about is the small little bubble in front of them.

Please. The right to worship their god without fear. Give me a break. There’s no war on Christianity . They absolutely want others to worship their non-Christian god in fear.
I take that back actually they want to abolish other religions, they want everyone to be ok with Jesus.
Whoever had the number for my work cell before me apparently was a big time right winger because I get multiple text messages a day from those assholes (to which I always reply "stop" but there's just so many of them!).*
I just got one about how Kamala's choice is a lefty with stolen valor. Stolen valor! My god. WTAF.
*it's not a coworker, I got an entirely new account/phone with a reused number.

This is the one that I roll my eyes at the most.
I don't care if you say Merry CHRISTmas to me. But I might choose to go with the more inclusive "happy holidays!". You can tell praise Jesus till the cows come home, but I have the right to NOT do that.
The comparisons of Harris / Walz campaign rally’s to Vance’s appearances are amazing. Vance cannot pull a crowd without their Orange Jesus and today’s stop looks like the majority of people are media.
