I'm a glutten for punishment. I started "Tell Me Lies" on Freeform a year or so ago, whenever it came out. I didn't read the book so the plot was a bit hard to follow, but I got pretty far in. Apparently they came out with a season 2 and I'm curious where it goes. Debating if I go back and re-watch all of S1, then catch up to S2 whenever I get there, but is the show going to get better? I feel like folks here said it was kinda slow, and the ending was a big let down.
The ending made no sense in relation to the season, IMO. I'm not normally one to rewatch, but I may rewatch season 1 before I start season 2.
I also need to know if Hulu is doing the 1 episode a week thing because I'll wait for them all to be available.

Only Murders in the Building is starting again.
They released 2 episodes yesterday, I watched the first one. Also a glutton for trash TV punishment I guess!
Praise the Lord, we are selling DD's Barbie dreamhouse today. The thing is a monstrosity and has been taking up so much space on my porch ever since DD decided to redo her room.
Unfortunately once I moved it outside I was hit with the stench of cat pee, thankfully not from the dollhouse but somewhere on the porch. Stupid cat.
ALSO, I'm so annoyed with my boss. She told me in my mid-year review a few weeks ago that I have two little things to work on to be qualified (in her eyes) for a promotion to Senior Manager. One of which was taking complete ownership of my specific areas of work, so that people know I'm the go-to person.
Yesterday, someone reached out about a project and we had a call and hashed out the details. I am working towards the deadline of Friday and on the right track for it. And then I got an email from my boss at 7:30pm last night (with the other person on copy) telling me "Hey, I know you guys connected on this, but here's what I think you should look into specifically to get the information he needs."
Um...am I supposed to own things completely to prove that I can? Or am I supposed to be micromanaged so people, including you, think I'm not capable? WHICH IS IT!?
Clearly, I need more sleep and an attitude adjustment today.
DD1 had her first day of kindergarten today! She was SO excited. I hope she has a great day.
I'm excited to be home with no children, I cna hopefully finish this season of the Bachelorette from the couch while I work.
DH has to go out of town for a funeral tomorrow and I'm staying back with the kids. Not looking forward to solo weekend parenting, especially if it rains all day Saturday.

It may be a more recent Freeform shows thing. I also watched the first season of Cruel Summer all the way to the bitter end. I re-watched some episodes without DH as I couldn't follow along. Also chatted about it here. In the end it was another show I was mad at the ending and didn't make it to S2.
Unpopular opinion, I gave up on Only Murders before the last new season (3, 4?) My husband loves it but I just can't get in to it. I may jump in to the newest season if it's pretty well set to skip (whatever episodes or season) I missed without missing too much story in the new season.
tacokick, I want to read "The Perfect Couple" before watching the show, however it's going to be such a long hold I may do show then book. They change everything anyway, lol.
I was debating starting a "what are you watching" thread as I need some new shows. I wonder if we should have an on-going "bad fictional shows" thread similar to what we have for Reality TV?
Agree with heyyounotyouyou . A friend was told years ago that the owner/president was planning to promote her once he retired from his president role. Literal years went on, and there was no formal training, no retirement date set, he actually actively did things that hindered my friend's growth/development and internal reputation. She ended up rage-quitting in May, which I was very proud of her for doing. It was not worth it for her to continue in that dumpster fire, working in limbo for who knows how many years, reporting to someone who likely will never retire.
Happened to me too. And the person started backstabbing/undermining me to make it less likely I'd be promoted so I couldn't be direct competition either.
I formed alternative relationships within the org establishing other mentors and champions. I played nice with her while doing so, and started looking for another job. When I found something worthy, I quit, gave 2 weeks notice, shocked the shit out of her, and never spoke to her professionally or personally ever again.
That was in 2015.
She retired last year. In December.
Good for you, cville! Glad you were able to move on to something better. It always amazes me, though, when women treat other women like that at work. My first boss in my professional career was a woman, and horrible to any of her female direct reports who got pregnant/had a baby (her general reaction was to put these women on a PIP and even fired one, she essentially threatened me during a performance review while I was PG with DS). I left for something better when DS was 6 months old and have intentionally avoided her in all regards since then (DS is now 15).

For real. She was honored a few years back at a "women in the profession" thing and they asked me to speak as a "former protege." Unfortunately, I had a conflict* that I just could not move at that time and declined.
*the conflict was with my conscience, which would not allow me to lie in front of professional acquaintances and colleagues.
I was looking at job openings at my company. They posted 2 jobs there were eliminated that had exactly the same thing these two people did---they were at a lower pay grade and still reported to manager X. I heard they are terrible to work for.
sadlebred , that is so shady and crappy. Happened a lot when I worked for the state. They'd do retirement buy outs, then wait forever to backfill, making others pick up a lot of duties without extra pay, title adjustment etc. They've eventually re-fill at a much lower salary.
Any suggestions where you can find a notary public with flexibility to notarize something tomorrow?
I'm supposed to have my dad's POA notarized tomorrow with my brother as his names on some of the pages. I booked a private pay notary since a lot of banks (in our areas) don't seem to have a notary public on duty every day, and it would be easier on my brother not to leave the house. The notary asked if we can change the time to meet, but hasn't gotten back to me yet if the new suggested time works. I would just let it go, but I don't want to have to stay an extra day or two if my brother doesn't need me (he wants space), and I need POA authorized for something time sensitive.
*I also talked to the lawyer who said there's a clause only my brother or I have to be the agent, but when I tried to get the docs notarized alone the notary understandably wouldn't do it as there's no way to prove my brother also signed at that time. Lawyer said my brother could sign something else to completely give up his power, but I don't want to do that as I hope he'll be able to do some of this next year.
ETA: I understand becoming, and keeping up with a notary public is a giant PITA and can see why people don't do it anymore. I just need one to say we both signed and move on.
litskispeciality Your bank should have a notary on staff. Also, the UPS store usually has one. Call a couple in your area to find out if they will be there at the time you need.

Random thoughts… my son’s birthday was yesterday. I ordered him an ice cream cake from the store with buttercream frosting. I hate whipped frosting as does the birthday kid. The order says buttercream. We didn’t get buttercream. We served it because it was the only cake we had and we had guests. I’m still annoyed I got no cake. First world problems.

Yes, FedEx or UPS locations often have one, you can check the website to see, but call first - they might only be available certain days/hours at that spot.
My annoying neighbors were gone for a few months - they summer on their boat, la di da - and it was bliss.
But now they’re back, and she’s been power washing the front for at least 2 hours so far. Yall. It’s like a 20x5 space. Or 20x10 if you include the sidewalk.
I brought one of my dogs to work with me today because we're getting new carpet at home. Our younger dog was outraged to be left out but I know she'd be barking at every sound and I literally just looked up and remembered he was here because he's been napping all day. He gets to a meeting at 1 but I feel like he's judging me like, your life is to sit in this people crate and talk into a square?
We were back to school yesterday, so my internal calendar is all jacked up. I saw the title of this thread and first thought maybe it was from last week, and then thought to myself, gosh is today Thursday? and then realized yes it is, and then got super happy.
I just had my physical and was telling my doctor how poorly I am sleeping lately. I believe I am in the beginning of perimenopause, and she said at my age (46) its certainly possible. She sent me in a script for Ambien, but told me to wait to take it over the weekend in case it really grogs me out. I can't wait to sleep so hard I drool. I'm really hoping this works. Though all I can think about is Roseann Barr and her Ambien-(alleged) induced-tweet scandal.

maudefindlay, and someone who wants to bring back a VERY specific Madonna fashion...in denim lol.
Thanks all for the help with the notary. My local bank only has 1 notary, who's on vacation. The library in my brother's town doesn't have one, but they were super helpful in recommended (further away) libraries. UPS Store hasn't answered the phone after a couple of calls at different times. There's a bank in my brothers area that says they'll have a notary, but won't make an apt so I think that will be our back up pending I can't get the in-home person to confirm. Just shouldn't have to be this hard.

do you have a local hospital? ours has a notary. Then even if it is not your bank but there are other banks in the area you can call them?

Why is school pick up since a PITA! All of our schools are in one area. I picked DS up at the high school at 2:45 today and there was already a line of cars to pick up the elementary kids who don't get out until 3:30. Yesterday he stayed after and when I was going up a woman cut me off (she had the stop sign and I had the right of way) because she wanted to last spot on the side street for pick up. Coming back a woman stopped in the intersection (no stop sign) with her blinker on the take a left and sat there because she couldn't turn onto the street because there was no space. She sat there for over 15 minutes messing up traffic. I just don't get people.

I'm a notary and people post all the time on our neighborhood Facebook looking for notaries. If I'm home I don't mind them coming over for some quick notarizing. Also our local post office, insurance agents, and even convenience stores (lol, the ones with the copiers and long ago fax machines) have them around us. Good luck!!

Lots of libraries have notaries that are free to use

As I watch, I think it does follow the book fairly closely. However, it’s been a long time since I read the book and I didn’t think it was that great so I think if you wanted to dive into the show it would be fine.
I love bad fictional shows! Nicole Kidman seems to be making a career of them lately and I’m into it.
