I'm back at work after a week off. I thought I had fixed my sleep schedule having managed to sleep until 6am all week, but, nope, I was awake before 5 again today. I don't think I'm stressed about work. I generally like my job and I'm good at it.
I snagged a Bonne Maman jam advent calendar for myself. I'm trying to decide what to do with lots of tiny jars of jam. Toast? Cheese and crackers? Fancy PB&Js?
I want one! Is there a way to tell if there are a lot of flavors with raspberry? I'm deathly allergic.
This reminds me, my aunt who passed away had 8 jars of raspberry bonne maman that we had to toss. My FIL took it all home to clean out the jars. They're good jars! She would've loved this!

(((@jamicam))) oh that's so much. Huge hugs.
wanderingback, I hope you enjoy the conference. I think you watch(ed) Married at First Sight, so you might like Love is Blind (Netflix) if you haven't already seen that one.
I'm on the fence about seeing Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in the theatre or just waiting for it to stream. DH loves the original, but doesn't do musicals. We found the 90's Beetlejuice cartoon on Tubi this weekend and watched 3 or 4 episodes. It's sooo much weirder than I remember, but it was also a nice easy throwback to curl up with, lol.
((( jamaicam,))) That is so hard to be so far away.
I was on me feet walking at the Renaissance festival on Saturday. Dirt paths, hills, not the best shoes (because my character!). I have a knot in my calf that is still there. And my saber fencing class starts back up tonight. It’s the fist of the season, so maybe we will have a bunch of new people and it’ll be a light workout. I was hoping to do private lessons during July and august. But when I asked, I never got a reply, and I interpreted that poorly. I realize most people would have followed up. But, I had a back and forth with the admin, who forwarded it to the coach. And then nothing. So did the coach reject me or just the email got lost? I really am a functioning adult. At least 80% of the time lol
There is some road or utility work going on outside. It sounds like they are drilling or something, because it’s just a constant motor running rumble with little variance. I can’t take it. I can hear it with noise canceling AirPods and loud grunge playing.

If you enlarge the photo of the back of the box, it lists flavors/ingredients. I don't think raspberry was super prominent - probably just a few jars you'd have to avoid. I'm sure you have a friend who would be happy to receive your reject jams!

I got the Bonne Maman advent calendar last year and saved all the jars and made tiny scones the week after christmas. My H and kids and I had a fun little tasting over a few days!
I was trying to be a good parent and help ds2 make a movie yesterday and accidentally purchased a $360 annual subscription to a video and animation clips service while I hunting around for a free trial or a cheaper option (I wanted to incorporate a clip of the ground collapsing into his movie). I reached out right away and asked for a refund and they downgraded me to the monthly plan so it is “only” a $65 dollar mistake. 😞

Update: I was told I would be contacted for the final steps this afternoon. I have refreshed my email every 5 min. I am feeling confident I have the job.

Yesterday was wild, we experienced such crazy weather in Southern California. There was an excessive heat warning, it started raining, then a flash flood warning, then thunderstorms. Then we get to the airport in Northern California and it was 63 degrees.
My poor H got a flat tire on 95 heading home for work today. Thankfully we have roadside assistance, so someone is going to come out and change it for him - we are not the kind of people who know how to do such things ourselves, lol. Also he's stuck on the side of an extremely busy road during rush hour so I'm glad he's not trying to change it on his own anyway - I assume the roadside people will show up with a more prominent vehicle to signal to traffic that they need to look out! He's just sitting in his car waiting for them to come help.
Of course that messes up my whole day tomorrow since I was supposed to use the car to go to three places, but hopefully I'll at least make it to the last one. One was going into the office for work, so I'll just WFH and that's not a big deal. We have a 2:30 appointment to get it fixed. We use Costco for tires so there is a warranty, but it's annoying that then we can't really go anywhere else and they didn't have any earlier appointments. Our Costco is notoriously slow for tire service, too, so I don't expect to get out of there with any efficiency. Ugh.

I was shredding tofu today and I shredded my thumb. It probably could use a stitch because it took awhile to stop bleeding, but I’m gonna power through. I need to figure out how to shred it off without injuring myself because it’s so tasty when you bake it that way.

Are you close to a fire? I was reading yesterday about how a fire out in San Bernardino had the potential to create its own weather!

Today has been a crazy work day. Topped off with a meeting about the new HR review system. It's no longer an annual review (yay!) but instead quarterly reviews (ugh). And HR was like, "This is so much better and easier for you!" and I'm like, no, it's so much harder! I have 5 people reporting to me, which at my company is a lot, so now I have to manage this system (or manage my employees management of this system) multiple times a year instead of once. AND HR kept saying "the employees can enter their own goals" except in my unit, because we are a sales team, most of our goals are given to us by higher ups. So fine, we'll enter them ourselves, but they are due in 10 days and no one has given me goals yet.
Whatever, I'm just preparing my team that it'll be a mad dash to do it the day before it's due, b/c I know that's how this goes. But it's just annoying how out of touch HR is with how literally every other unit at this org does things. But I'm looking even less forward to this process than I was last week before I knew this new plan.

Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

Kevlar gloves. I use them when I break out the mandoline or the ceramic peeler (which has peeled my fingers more than once)

Sorry about your thumb! Can you tell me more about this? I love tofu but have never shredded it.
