Happy Friday the 13th Randoms!

H and I are doing the long crappy travel day after an absolutely amazing vacation. I wanted to post some photos but one of my cousins has had a tragedy in her family and it didn’t feel right. We are not really close (huge, huge family), but I know she follows me on Facebook and posting “look how awesome my life is right now” seemed like a terrible thing to do.

Prompted by the grey hair thread: I thought I’d be way more grey than I am now; I stopped dying my hair during the pandemic. My eyebrows have several greys and there are a sprinkle of greys at my temples and top part, but I’ve been accused of dying my hair and I don’t!

My dad kept his black hair into his 80s, except at the temples, and one of my aunts got a huge kick out of accusing him of dying his hair. He would get so mad - he would be the absolute last person on earth to color his hair, lol.

I am still tired from my business trip - got home at 1:30 am yesterday morning. I am really hoping that Sunday is going to be beach day. I need one more beach day.

We have a busy weekend of scheduled events and DH invited friends over basically every moment we are home without checking with me first. Good thing I love our friends, they host everyone all the time, we are overdue for returning the favor and DH is off today to do most of the cleaning and errands prep work. My only slight annoyance is that we only have a few weekends between overnight houseguests to get some big house and yard projects done and now we’ve lost this weekend to do any of it. Last weekend was a heatwave so we didn’t get much done then either.

I made it to the Harris event in Johnstown, PA. It was pretty cool. So, because this was an event for “vice president Harris” acting in her official capacity and not a campaign thing, and she was on Air Force two, she could not do a speech (from my understanding of the Hatch Act lol, correct me if I’m wrong). So I literally went there to just see her descend the plane and shake hands with people 😂 but I made friends and had a good time nonetheless and it was a day off work.

DS is having a friend sleep over, as he does almost every Friday night. I made mac and cheese and homemade chicken tenders. DS came down for dinner and said "[friend] doesn't like chicken tenders and mac and cheese, so he'll get something later."

What 12-year-old doesn't like chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese??
