My mil is moving at the end of the month. The only thing that is packed so what H and I have done. Tomorrow is the last likely day I can help and I am pretty sure I will be a mega B in her eyes. And no fucks given at this point. BIL’s are useless POS as mentioned before. We canceled a trip bc H had guilt about not being here the last weekend of the month to help. I am leaving that weekend to split firewood at my parents. Good luck H.
My car just leaked some sort of clear fluid onto my foot while driving... It was a *very* small amount, so I guess it's good I was wearing sandals. I definitely wouldn't have noticed if I was wearing a full shoe. But the dealership isn't open tomorrow (it's less than a year old and under warranty). So I'm not sure if I can drive it tomorrow. I also have to drive 6-7 hours round-trip next weekend with dogs, so I definitely need my car. Ugh. I am not going to sleep well tonight.

If anyone remembers our car accident saga from last year… we are finally done with it.
The guy got our policy max for bodily injury, so just under 100k. More than half of it is for “future treatment.” The lawyer we met with to do the affidavit was like “I see this all the time. And it’s bogus. That future treatment will never happen. But that’s why you pay your insurance.”

Condensation dripping from the AC lines?
Hmmm... It was a nice night, I think I had the windows down. I also think it was more viscous than water. My first thought was brake fluid because I know it's clear and viscous, but it also didn't occur while I was braking. Leak is close to the gas pedal. Once it's light out I'll go check if the liquid is still visible and if it seems to be about the same as when I got home last night.
ETA: My dad agrees that it's most likely brake fluid
DH and I got COVID/flu shots Friday at 5pm. I woke up around 2am Saturday morning with all the side effects. The worst of it (fever, headache, nausea and joint/muscle aches) over by noon for both of us, but we were just exhausted.
I need to check on mom later. After, DH and I will probably have dinner out.
I am writing postcards to voters. I signed up for 100.
My hand is cramping. I'm taking a break.
Now I know what it's like to be a celebrity constantly signing autographs. Thank God I am not famous. My hand couldn't take it.
When I signed up, the minimum I could sign up for was 200 I have to mail Oct 24 and just started writing some yesterday. I did 25. Definitely had to stop a lot for the hand cramping lol. My goal is to do at least 10 a day every day until I'm done. I also told H he is helping with this!

That happened to me and it turned out to be water that had collected from rains a while ago (the drains from the sunroof had apparently dry rotted). Hope it's the same for you.

Interesting. My car is less than a year old, but there was a problem with the moonroof and it had to be replaced almost immediately after I bought it. That's definitely preferable to a brake line issue. I'm still staying home today though.

I cannot believe my 13 year old BABY got on a van at 7 am today for a 14 hour road trip to DC with about a dozen other middle schoolers from his class. He will be there a week. I am sure I will feel better once he arrives and I hear from him after the first day but I have a million scenarios going through my head. I keep reminding myself we need him to go out into the world without us and this is a step toward college but oof.
I’m at my mom’s and H last minute went to dinner with a couple of our friends from supper club. I can see on the front door camera that he brought them back to the house after and omg I know the house is such a mess 😭 why are men?
That's totally normal when they start! I think our boys are close in age-- focus comes with time. 3 weeks from now you'll see some progress. Or not 😂
I think at this age (esp in scrimmage) if the ball isn't directly at their feet, they lose interest quick.
"Mommy, they won't let me have the ball!". You have to get it, child! That's the point of the game!
Followed by "Can we just skip to the part where we have the snacks?"
If nothing else, it was cute to watch but my boy won't be playing in the world cup lol.
You never know! Both my kids did a season of soccer around age 6 and weren’t that into it. They switched to other sports but in the past year my 8 year old has become obsessed with soccer, as a fan and playing with friends. We did nothing to encourage this and soccer is one of the sports we never played / watched. He joined a ⚽️ team this season and had his first game yesterday. He’s one of the youngest on the team but can still keep up with the kids that have played continuously. The passion is at 💯

Oh, I meant to add, the 10u boys yesterday were asking about snacks within the first five minutes of the game, so that part might not ever stop 😂

See i’m the opposite. My partner gets so stringent about making the apartment sparkling if a close friend or family member is coming over. I’m like we live here! I mean of course I’ll do a Quick Look over and make sure there’s not like poop stains on the toilet but I def never mind when I go over to friend’s houses and it looks "lived in." Now if you say there are poop stains somewhere then that’s another story lol.

haha no poop stains, but I’m certain there were tumbleweeds of dog hair and random shit thrown all over the kitchen table that is the dumping ground for bags and stuff.

*I know it's very common and I'm the outlier* so don't @ me but I'm so creeped out by location tracking (between adults) and ring cameras and all that.
I can't imagine H texting me like why did you go to this store not that one or whatever, I'd smash the fucking phone.

I'll hold out some hope lol. I hated sports when I was a kid, but thrived in dance.
His dad was very athletic and exceled at sports well into his time in the military until he messed up his knee.
HRH Queen Dick I I agree completely, especially about location sharing. I generally keep location disabled on my phone unless I need directions. I have mixed feelings in the rise of ring cameras and the like. I can see both pros and cons to them. I lean towards thinking it's smart to have cameras, but I wish I didn't feel that way.
We took the kids to a traveling family circus show yesterday and H and I got picked for audience participation by the clown. It was hilarious! I rarely get picked for this stuff so it was a surprise. We went with a big group of friends and their kids so they got it on video for us. So funny! The circus show was amazing too! We loved it.
This weekend has been packed with stuff! Which is too much for me, I need my downtime. Luckily today we are free until a kids bday party this afternoon so I’m enjoying chilling inside while the kids ride bikes with dad.
I track my H like I work for the FBI because a) he rarely answers his damn phone or texts and I need to know he’s alive and b) he started driving a motorcycle recently and I have a lot of anxiety over it.
I share my location with my DD because it’s easier than having her text me “where are you” every 2 mins.
I posted a question asking if I could use an iron on a fencing lame and went on to explain that I can sew well and I want to use fusible interacting to reinforce a seam from the inside. The first response was to take it to a seamstress and have them reinforce it from the inside.
I replied “Hi! I’m the seamstress who said they want to reinforce it from the inside.”
I love location sharing because it helps me have a sense of when to expect H home without having to keep checking in with him. He also ends up on a lot of side quests when he runs errands and it feels less invasive to me to just check his location and see that he stopped at his mom's, vs quizzing him about why he isn't home as expected.
I also love it for my kids so that I can know that they got somewhere safely if they were walking or biking without an adult.
I actually feel like I'm the outlier though-- I know a lot of people who feel very strongly/negatively about being tracked by their spouse. I could see it potentially becoming an issue if either spouse is controlling about it. But neither of us really ever even mention it.
For example today, H and DS are at a bike race. Bc of the way it was structured it was very hard to estimate how long they would be. It's been nice to periodically check and see if they are still on the course without continually texting for updates while they are riding.

My mom heart was bursting last night because L was invited to her first birthday party since before covid potentially, had a meltdown prior, pulled it together and went, and had a really good time. One of the issues is that she is currently dairy free because of medical reasons and she knew they would be eating pizza. Birthday girl had ordered her a vegan cheese pizza and it was actually really good. She had also gotten her a dessert to eat in lieu of the cupcakes. This is a new friendship for her and if last night is any indication, I hope it continues.

Ok glad no poop stains. And yes a kitchen table with stuff on it is "lived in" and most people have an area like that, no biggie!

I didn’t know adults did location tracking like that! Yeah that’s definitely a no go for me. I think it all ties in to how we’re so used to information at our fingertips 24/7 and I generally don’t think that’s a great thing.
The other day I accidentally left my phone at home for a few hours when I went for a walk and to run errands with my daughter. It was so nice to not have access to anything! I was like I need to do that more often. My partner was actually out getting groceries and I wanted to text him a few things to get but obviously couldn’t and it was nice to just not have to worry about it haha.
