I just got back from a field trip with my DS(8). We went to the fair (no rides). It was not bad. Busy and 2 of the kids put in my group clearly were not thrilled that they weren't in a group with any friends as they kept leaving my group to hang with the friends.
DS struggled hard in the barns because animals have a very strong smell and some weren't contained enough for his comfort level. And the line for ice cream was indoors and loud so he just decided to pass on it even though he loves ice cream. It was very much sensory overload for him.
I'm SO glad his teacher remembered his noise canceling headphones. What a world of difference a teacher makes.
I was walking my dog this morning, and two kids approached and asked to pet him. I said yes. They asked if he likes kids, and I said "yes, he loves them!". Then the kid asked if I had kids. I told him no, and he said "oh, that's sad!". LOL. Actually kid, no it isn't... though I am sure my dog WOULD enjoy playing with kids. I suspect his first family may have had some, because he can be a little weird around adults he doesn't know but has been very patient and sweet with every kid he's met.
I was supposed to go to book club tonight, but I only read 2/3 of the book and it's dreary out so I'm going to stay home. I have been on the fence about continuing this book club anyway, so maybe this will just be the end of that. This one has up to 20 people, which I think is just too much. I have enjoyed hearing what others think of the books, but I haven't contributed much so I am sure they won't miss me, ha. I'd still love to find a smaller book club someday.

I take the commuter bus between home and work bc my sanity can't handle driving through fog and SF 5d/wk. Today the bus broke down in.front.of.J's.office Granted he was already out of the yard and off surveying pipe when we broke down but for a second, refilling my travel coffee mug w more coffee was tempting

I’m watching Jaws, about halfway through, where there’s a false alarm and everyone on the beach is panicking that there’s a shark. There’s a scene from the bottom of the lifeguard’s chair where the lifeguard is yelling up above; it showed an angle right up his shorts and I swear to god I just saw the guy’s full ball.

I feel like I need to watch immediately and confirm this!
wildrice , it's a woman. I responded to her second email and just said "My name is XXX". I'm done playing LOL
Not sure if this was covered but is there a language barrier? I get emails to my last name all the time from our offshore teams.
The best was a coworker of mine who spoke excellent English but struggled with American slang/terms - he responded to an email with the signature "warm regards"...by saying "Dear Warm,"
Nope. She and I have even spoken on the phone. I honestly think that it just boils down to being careless.

I swear the universe hates me. I was just emailing with someone and in closing they sent a final thank you email and not only did they call me by my last name, they spelled it wrong LOL I so quit.

Well, I guess I know what I'm looking out for the next time I watch Jaws...
