The local moms are going to hate the hockeyboosters. We are planning on doing a 3 ft tall candy Stanley cup. It has 8 prime drinks, 60 full size candy bars and popcorn.
Is there an update on the cousin? How are they doing 15 years later?
She is doing great! Married with one child and one on the way. She lived with an aunt for the rest of high school, and went to college for teaching. She’s an amazing person.
I actually think I remember this story (I’m from DE). I’m glad to hear she’s doing well ❤️
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I ended up driving out to the lake today and did a 2 mile walk and finished a book by the water. It was so beautiful and relaxing until a spotted lanternfly (IDK if these are just in PA or everywhere but they are nasty) landed on me, and then a dead fish washed up by my bare feet, lol, ew. I left shortly after that.
DS is on the phone w/ a friend right now and his awkwardness on the phone makes me crack up. "uhhhh, so what's been going on lately?" he asked his buddy after a bunch of dead silence.
He got a 3rd dog to add to his non-stop barking tribe and I am this close to standing outside his bedroom window at 2am and just screaming at the top of my lungs.
*he refuses to train these dogs so all they do is bark non stop and he leaves them outside for a good 30 minutes every time they have to go. It's 1 large dog and now 2 small yappy dogs. The yappy ones are the ones that drive me insane. Their pitch is just the right amount that it is like nails on a chalkboard.
pinkdutchtulips I'm so sorry. Did she get accepted to the school program yet?
No, the initial program we wanted to place her in doesn't take 15yo. That said, the former SRO I met today offered another program and I brought that up in my meeting w the district today. That is our new top option.
pinkdutchtulips, why did they waste weeks of your time evaluating her for a program they know she doesn't meet the age requirement to participate in?? I'm angry for you. I hope the new option works out.

I think that's pretty awesome! Any chance it's being given out before Halloween? If my kid came home with that, I'd let them have the drinks (score, don't have to buy them for a week), pick you maybe 5 candy bars and keep the popcorn, and the rest of the candy would be put out for trick or treaters!

That's not a bad idea! We had planned to do it in the beginning of December when the season kicks off, but maybe I will look into now.

I was LIVID when I found out that she never qualified in the first place bc of her age. That said, I raised enough of a stink bc that program is the best suited for her, that the district asked their attorney to look into any possible exceptions given that she's 15.
Her mental health has taken a beating being isolated the way she is. We all thought she'd be in some kind of school program by now (classes started the end of August, they knew we'd be delayed until early September, I've been in contact w the new district since early to mid August) meeting kids here and getting acclimated to the new surroundings. Instead she's been in her room bored out of her mind.
