I take a multivitamin, vitamin D, and magnesium glycinate (which has been a game changer) at night. I have taken fish oil but ran out——need to add that back in.
I need to look into creatin. I keep hearing about it w/r/t perimenopause.
I take Vitamin D, Magnesium, selenium and a digestion supplement that helps with bloat. I sometimes take a small nibble on a 5mg melatonin gummy if I want to get knocked out before bed.

Fish oil and I just started taking magnesium and selenium because apparently they help with Hashimoto flare-ups. I've had a couple of bad ones and am hoping to find some magic!

Right now just vitamin D and fish oil. I was taking magnesium, but since starting ADHD meds, I had to stop since both magnesium and vyvanse can have a slight laxative effect. For me, they definitely did, lol.
Iron when I'm low (which is fairly often) for blood donation. My diet isn't very rich in heme iron, so my stores can drop without supplementation (DDs takes it, too).
I don't seem to have any other deficiencies, though- so nothing else.

Ive been studying herbal medicine more and take herbs and tinctures for immune support.
I take biotin.
I was taking a multivitamin/postpartum vitamin because I breastfed for almost 2 years and that sucks everything out of you lol, but I recently stopped. I do try my best to get most of my nutrients through food.
Vitamins and supplements and herbs definitely can be used incorrectly/dangerous but they can have benefits if you look at things objectively and don’t go too crazy lol.
I probably should, but I don't really notice a difference if I take one or not. Not saying they are worthless just that the impact has been negilible for me; my vitamin D levels are consistently fine. Iron seems like a popular one but I can't take it due to a genetic condition, even though I am regularly anemic.
Vitamin D because my doctor said to. I was only one point too low and it was the dead of winter so not sure it was 100% needed but figured it wouldn’t hurt.
Berberine (to help regulate blood sugar) Vit D3 Vit B complex (without B6, have to get from a particular company) Fish Oil Sea Buckthorn/other omega oils Turmeric/Quercitin Calcium Fiber Just started collagen

My diet is really bad right now, although I'm trying to get a lot better.
I take a daily vitamin I split in half (half with lunch, half with dinner) and 2 fish oils (1 lunch/1 dinner) Adding back in a separate vitamin D before bed Trying to add in B12 per recommendation of a neurologist, split in half as 1000 units is way too much energy for me. I take about 15 fiber pills per day (5 before lunch and dinner, 5 before bed), plus I try to eat oatmeal and an apple for breakfast 5 days per week. Magnesium before bed a lot but I forgot what kind (generic magnesium if that's a thing?) Sometimes half a biotin if I remember as my nails are pretty brittle and my hair can use the help.
I need to work in more calcium and should buy pills as I don't drink a lot of milk. We do Oatmilk now but I don't like the taste enough to drink a glass.
mcsangel2 Are you experiencing any of the digestive side effects from berberine? I’m considering trying it to see if it helps with weight loss. My blood glucose labs are always fine, but I have most of the list of symptoms of insulin resistance, and diabetes runs in my family, so I’m wondering whether there’s something going on with me in that area. But the diarrhea/nausea/bloating side effects make me hesitate.

I had 'stomach upset' the first time I took it, no problems since.
If your blood sugar and A1C are normal, you should talk to your dr before starting this. It lowers blood sugar, and if yours is already in the normal range, it can put you in hypoglycemia and at risk for dizziness or passing out. I see a lot of people with normal bs with these worrying symptoms all the time on the berberine subreddit.

Oh thank you for that info. I’ll do that and also check out that subreddit.

I've been taking vitamin D for years. No idea why I started it but here I am.
I also started taking a probiotic. I've been using the LOVE Wellness brand and it is the only probiotic I've ever used where I've noticed a real difference.

I take vitamin D and just started taking magnesium glycinate. I have only been taking magnesium for a little over a week and am not sure if I'm seeing any difference, so it's helpful to hear it may take a bit.
For those that take magnesium - how much do you take? And do you take it all in the evening? I've been taking 200 mg but am wondering if I should up to 400mg (which is the dosage on the bottle I have).

I appreciate you have been studying herbal medicine for yourself. I strongly urge you to bring that into your practice. There are so many things that can assist. It is not a sub for western med, but there are times when people cannot handle the western options. Having practitioners that understand vitamins, herbs, and supplements will help with patient safety. People will take them and it is better to have professional guidance rather than judgment.
I had my annual recently and had a full bloodwork up, including hormone panel. My follow up was interesting. The PA asked about my symptoms, went over my labs to see where my deficiencies are, and then saw where the overlap between the two are and how to address them.
Big symptoms- anxiety, shorter fuse with all emotions, fatigue and exhaustion. Low iron, low B's, low cortisol low testosterone and some other lower numbers. I am at a point where I can start testosterone cream (along with other supplements to get other levels up) or she suggested Ashwagandha (pure encapsulations brand) as an alternative.
As for the sleeping, she did recommend mag glycinate before bed.

Only in what I'm deficient. So that's an iron B complex. I'd add D and Ca, but I've had a hard time finding that combo. I'd say I average remembering twice a week.

I don’t. The whole thing seems overwhelmingly complicated.
I don’t have the will to bother with research and finding reputable sources.
I don’t have any particular problems I want to treat. I don’t want to mess up and mix things that shouldn’t go together, and I don’t want to ingest golden milk or green drinks.
Probiotics, collagen peptides (in an attempt to help my knee problems), and at night time: magnesium, L-theanine and an ashwaganda gummy
I have taken lots of things for sleep before and my new routine (over the past 6 months or so) has dramatically helped my sleep. I was able to kick a prescription med.
Just like everyone else here, I’m on the magnesium glycinate bandwagon. I always used to wake up in the middle of the night and it hasn’t happened since I started taking the magnesium. That’s all I take besides an allergy pill.

I take one Ashwaganda some nights if I feel like I'm going to have trouble falling asleep.
I also have a spoonful of honey a lot of nights. I read somewhere a while ago it can help you wake up more refresh, and it's good for your liver (helps cleanse it or something?) Probably power of persuasion, but my head feels clearer and I have less nausea if I'm overtired, when I have honey the night before.
I take Ritual multi-vitamins and Seed probiotic. I like them both. I definitely notice a difference with the probiotic. Normally I have low vitamin D levels and I didn't the last time I had my bloodwork done. I've been taking my multivitamin regularly so it must be doing something. I've recently added Flewd Stresscare bath soaks and Agent Nateur Calm Beauty supplements. I noticed I've been clenching my hands and pushing them in to the mattress when I sleep and I've been having issues with belly fat. I think it may be a cortisol issue but who the hell knows. I'm hoping these supplements will help but we'll see. I've only been using them for about three weeks. I'll probably give them around three months to see if I notice a difference. The Flewd insomnia ending soak definitely works for me. I use the soaks once a week and the Calm Beauty supplement six days a week. I think you can use the soaks up to three days a week but I'm not really a bath person.
