DST forever and ever. That chart posted only solidifies that for me as a west coast, non morning person. I HATE that it gets dark so early in winter, and then we go and make it an hour earlier.
I like rolling the time back. I always need the extra sleep in fall because it's my crazy season at work. Feels like a treat.

Also, I hate kids walking to the bus in the dark in the mornings. It's creepy, and people hurrying to work/school seem to forget they are all around. We have a LOT of kids in our neighborhood (2 busses just for our neighborhood to get to the elementary school, and a lot of parents also drive them). People seem slower in the evening when they're tired after a long day, so those exercising at night don't seem at quite the same risk.
We moved school so early it is dark all year long, so I don't think it makes that big a difference now.
We only have six hours or so of daylight in December so there is no good answer here. I only see daylight if I go outside during my work day. I prefer DST for summer though. We have sunlight from 4am to 10pm. I can’t imagine having sunlight at 3am. Birds chirping at 4am is bad enough.

our middle schoolers are waiting for the bus at 7:30 so it is in that sweet spot for us at our line if latitude. They also get home around 4. And they are the most likely to be on the bus unescorted to/from the stop.
I just HATE the change, whichever way it goes. My dogs don’t give a shit what actual time it is because they have an internal clock. You know what that means?
They woke me up at 4am instead of 5am today and then proceeded to act a fool when I didn’t promptly feed them at 5am (6am to them). I got to about 5:40 before I caved, as I feared they’d start to try to eat me.
So I’m thrilled for everyone that actually gets that extra hour of sleep, but it sucks for me. It was never even like this when my kids were little!
