Am I wrong here?
We are on vacation at Disney. Today we rode the Tower of Terror, which for those who don't know is an elevator ride where you are dropped. The seating in the ride vehicle is such that there are 3 rows. They also take a photo on the ride.
My family is in the middle row. And we put our hands up for the ride to enjoy the drops. Before the ride ends and we get off, a couple behind us starts to complain to each other that people should not be allowed to put their hands up on the ride as it ruins the photo. We get off the ride and our hands do block them in the photo. The woman complains again about the ruined photo, and very loudly says "thanks a lot people" and I turn to her and say "if the photo is so important than you could have asked to be seated in the front row. Your rude comments aren't necessary."
We are not the only ones in the ride vehicle with our hands raised. We have been on this ride multiple times (and plenty of other rides with photos, too) and sometimes have had people block us. It happens.
So were we wrong to raise our arms? Is this something you take into account on rides?

Those people can stuff it. My god, to have so few problems that you have the brain power to be mad about your TOT photo.
They could: ask for the front row. Or before the ride starts graciously ask the people in front of you if they could keep their hands lower because they want to get the photo. Or, after seeing the photo, they could have asked the cast member if there was a way to re-ride so they could get a good photo-the cast member probably would have accommodated them.
I hope their dole whip falls off and splatters on the ground.
I would bet you 1 million GBCN dollars that she was never ever going to buy the photo. You’re on a RIDE, having FUN, doing what people are supposed to do in a ride while having fun.
If she liked the photo, she probably would have taken a picture of it with her camera WHICH IS 100% AGAINST THE RULES.

When I'm on any amusement ride all bets are off on what my body does. I might be laughing, covering my face, turned sideways...The force on Everest was so strong on DS2 that he had trouble keeping his head upright. Also, the cameras there don't get good shots of everyone on every ride hands up or not. Enjoy yourself in the moment.
No you’re not. The ride photos are awful anyway. Good for a laugh then you never look at them again.
Funny enough the Facebook algorithm put a post in my feed over the weekend from a woman who was riding the new Tiana ride and had half her face blocked by someone holding up their Mickey ears. She was complaining and got torn apart in the comments. The best part is the Minnie ears she was wearing were totally blocking the face of the person behind her!
I cannot do that ride though. I had a panic attack on it in the summer. The ride photo was real special as I was gripping my husband’s arm as if my life depended on it, lol.

Lmao. You do you on the ride. The photo is so not important. When all my boys were little , we have some funny photos of them in coasters for sure and it’s a fun memory, but we’ve also had photos where you can’t see them for various reasons and it’s no big deal. Don’t let grumpy people spoil your good time.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
Oh geez the photos. If they’re that important to her, I agree she should have asked to be seated in the front row. We are also here now. I didn’t see anyone request anything like this while boarding rides but I’m sure people do it.

It was rude of you to be in the photo at all, you should have ducked right when the photo was taken, or held up candy cane's so they could use it as a Christmas card. Now, their card won't go out until the week before Christmas, and with the way mail is, people may not see them before New Years

The woman looked very taken aback that I said something to her. I am not one to speak up usually, but especially on a day like yesterday I'm tired people not being called out on their poor behavior.

obviously you can’t tell because your arm is in the way - but it does look like she’s looking right where the camera is. That’s not the point of the ride!
Our society is ruined - it’s ALL about the photos now. Not the experiences.
Why don’t you look more scared! That ride is terrifying! LOL
I’ll be honest, if I was them I’d be bummed. Same thing happened to me and DD2 on a ride this summer. It was her first time on a roller coaster, I really wanted to see the look on her face and I would have bought the pic if it was good. However, I did not get upset with the people who blocked us! That’s just life, it’s not like people can control their arms(or should have to!) when they are enjoying the ride. I just said that’s too bad (to myself) and went on with my day.

People seriously need to get a life lol
ETA: s/o not being confrontational... I had an incident Tuesday morning that made me feel so off for the rest of the day. I had to confront a lady who decided to park in my work parking lot so she could drop her kids off at the private school across the street. The lot is small to begin with and requires a parking permit AND has many signs saying it is for employees only. She got out of her car and started unloading the kids (elementary aged I think) and I had just pulled in. I said "Excuse me, but you can't park here, it's a permit only lot for the employees of "office building"." And she was NOT happy. "I'll just be 5 minutes!", "There are like 10 spots opened!", "Who are you anyway???", "I can't believe you're starting this at 8 am!!!". Meanwhile her kids are standing there, hearing all of this too. I pointed out the signs and the permits on the other cars, but she was still so rude. Meanwhile, all the other parents were in the car drop off line like they were supposed to be. I felt so icky for the rest of the day, mostly because I'm usually not confrontational, but also because why are people so rude??!
You’re not wrong! I would be disappointed that my face was covered, but would never EVER shame someone for it! It’s a ride. You are supposed to be enjoying it and not posing for pics!
