This is rapidly turning into government by reality tv. I wonder if they will be assigned story arcs?
Last night, I was talking to someone who asked me if I (a fed) was really in danger of losing my job. I’ve arrived at “I don’t know, and I think the point is just to keep everyone living on edge afraid of what the next shoe to drop is.” And yeah, I’ve decided that must be the whole plan.
Linda McMahon, the former co-CEO of the WWE was just appointed the education secretary, so I'm sure Hulk is not far behind.
God help us.
This doesn't surprise me, she was head of the SBA in his first term and kind of flew under the radar because so many of his other appointments dominated the news. It's more shocking that she didn't get burned by him and wants to return for Round 2.
FBI directors serve 10-year terms, meaning Wray would not ordinarily leave his post until 2027, though the agency head can be removed by the president.
I am obviously over tired, I read "Sean P. Duffy" and thought he was making P. Diddy the Sec of Transportation.
Me too lol
What's scary to me is that so many of us did that and didn't immeidately reject the thought that he would do such a thing.
Has he nominated anyone with even a modicum of competence or relative experience? I guess mr fracking technically counts, as would lutnick, but I think I'd rather hulk hogan rather than someone whose positions are antithetical to good policy.
I work with a lot of physicians who manage dialysis patients. Dialysis regulations are overseen by CMS. Not surprisingly, the Dr. Oz pick has everyone very concerned. We were all upset after the election (this group skews heavily D) but this is really the cherry on top of the shit sundae that was already covered in RFK brain worms.

CMS is SOOOO complex and really needs somebody who understands the rules/history/reason & had great leadership + detail orientated to lead that agency.
I know, I truly know, how hard the Biden administration has been working on normal, not flashy, good government I initiatives. And that those things are important.
But my God, where the actual fuck are Democrats right now? Where is party leadership? We've got 2 months left, why aren't we going balls to the wall? Where is Dark Biden?
There's not much that can be done to stem the flow of absolute bullshit that is going to rain down on us, but party leadership are the ones who need to be handing out umbrellas.
Push judges through NOW. Start fighting in the media NOW. Plan rallies. Present a consistent counterpoint message to each facet of Project 2025. Do whatever it takes to make it harder for alleged non-MAGA Republicans not to reject these choices and repudiate these plans. Fuck shit up so that it's harder for him to do stuff his first 2 years and begin NOW laying the groundwork for 2018.
Yeah, I went into a cave of denial for a bit. But I wasn't elected to office to represent the interests of the people. You do that, you don't get to go into a cave. You have your hands on the levers of government now and you have the manual for how to run the machine.
Where Are You
Obviously, we all have our own roles to play and our own responsibility to resist and persist. I'm not looking to anyone else to save us. I'm looking for US to save us.
Schumer appears to be trying to push judges through as quickly as possible, and Biden is loading up Ukraine with weapons, but as far as I can tell, there's not much more happening. I absolutely agree they should be jamming up the system in a good way with a million executive orders and whatever it takes. But these are the same people who refuse to bring bills to the floor because they won't win, so I'm not sure I ever actually expected them to find a backbone.
