I have lurked for many years, and finally started posting a bit ago. I have been with my DH for 7 years, married for 5, and I have a three year old.
I have been on MM since I was first married, and our retirement/investments are in really good places because of it. I am so grateful for you all and your help!

A couple of years ago I was very, very regular at posting on TN (before the last change).
Now, I lurk mostly (new job).
Quirk: I can't eat yellow candy. Something in my mind just won't let me. So, I eat a whole package of Skittles/M&Ms etc and at the end there's always a pile of all of the yellow ones set aside for DH.

DH and I grew up in CA 3 hours away from each other but we met in TX while I was going to school and he was in the military.
I don't think I've met any famous people, though my cousin was a lawyer for a big case when I was younger.
No kids or pets right now and I'm looking for a job so in my spare time I've packed up a bunch of boxes, as we are moving in a month, and I have a very organized color coded system that some of my friends think is crazy but it will make the move so much smoother.
Number of marathons run: 4 Number of times I've ridden my bike across the state of Iowa: 3 Number of half marathons run: 2 Number of times hiked the Grand Canyon: 1
And then I turned 30 and got pudgy. I'm working on that though! I have 10 more lbs to lose!
I am married with 2 kids (almost 4 and 18 months). I am an electrical engineer, although DS thinks I build forklifts. I live in a very very small town in a very very LCOL area.
Interests include balancing our budget down to the penny, baking, and (recently) running.
Interesting fact for anyone still reading this: My dad was the ring bearer in my FIL's first wedding. DH and I both grew up in the same small town we are now living in (as did our parents). FIL divorced his first wife and then married my MIL. DH is the youngest of 6, 18 years younger than his oldest brother, and I am the oldest child). Our parents are good friends now, and each attend holidays at the other's houses.
I got arrested in college for criminal trespassing while swimming after hours with a group of friends at their apartment complex. I spent a night in jail in my bra and underwear. The charges were later dropped and then expunged because the whole thing was so ridiculous.
Luker here for about 6 months. From a smaller rural Missouri town, grew up on a farm, love animals, have had almost every kind of farm pet imaginable, and have work for horse barns and ridden all my life. I have a Bachelors in Biology, currently 1 1/2 years into a fed job. Currently building a house with the SO (LCOL), a "small dog" for sure, no kids, and one dog that is ours, an awesome boxer named Layla Lou (see signature pic for her and my cow Brie) who just turned 1 on May 3rd.
Never met a celeb, never seen a murder, talents? I'm an awful speller I'm awesome with horses and have been left in charge of many stables from the time I was 15 on up. Haven't had a chance to read 50 shades yet, still on the fence whether I want to or not.
I posted occasionally under my old SN - swinsto3. I'm unemployed, but hoping to be able to SAH eventually. I have one DD who will be 2 in a month, and we'll start trying for a second soon.
Interesting facts. . . hmmm. DH just got a job after being unemployed for 2 years, so for the last 9 months, we've both been out of work. It's been both the biggest blessing and hardest thing we've ever dealt with.
My famous encounters are all athletes - my grandpa's BFF was Joe DiMaggio, and my DH works with a lot of mixed martial artists (think UFC), so we know quite a few of them.
Oh, and DH & I first met when we were 10. We hated each other all through high school, then lost touch until we were 27. We moved in together after 2 weeks, and I still think he was a jerk when we were kids (he's nice now, though).

Lurker for years here. Never thought I had anything interesting to add, but decided to start posting on the new boards.
I love makeup and shoes. Married almost 6 years, no kids. I have nothing interesting to share; I'm boring, which is why I didn't post before.. Anyway HI!
Ive been supporting my husband for 2 years, while he has gone back to school to change careers. He is finally done and I am so excited! I don't know what to do with myself once he has a job and there is a second income coming through. MM has definitely saved my ass over these last 2 years.
Im a lover of movies, TV, horror, zombies and a wide variety of music. I may qualify as a cat lady with my 3 cats. LOL
I've lurked for years. I was a frequent poster/regular on the knot boards during my first engagement/marriage. When I met my now (2nd) DH I went to find my old boards and everything I liked was gone, so I lurked on the Nest. I've never been able to Nest from work so I would read at night. By then, all the posts I wanted to reply to were dead.
My most interesting facts:
I was a teen mom (not that interesting, I know). I married the dad and don't recommend it. I was a welfare kid (we've talked about this, a long time ago) I am the first person in my family to graduate college. ;D I am in the midst of a career change from insurance to teaching. I will make less money in the height of my teaching career than I did at the low of my insurance one.

Hi! I'm from Maryland and teach math. Not married - but in a pretty serious relationship. My only brush with celebrity was a trip to the Jay Leno show where we ended up on camera.

I think I might be the only one from New Mexico. And it's Albuquerque, not Santa Fe.
I'm left handed, but that's not that weird. I have a GED and a master's degree. I read somewhere that only .01% of the population has both.
I was on the Knot/Nest back in 2004 and got married the first time in 05. Divorced in 07 and getting married in 10 days in Jamaica to an amazing man. We have dogs not kids and will remain that way.
I am the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization and I love every minute of it.

Semi-lurker here: I grew up in Michigan, almost as far north as you can go without hitting Canada. DH and I moved to Iowa where he works as a starch chemist and I'm working on my PhD in engineering. We met on our college cross country team my first week at school. He was a senior
I feel like we need some additional information from lurkers in order to identify them.
Please post one crazy/intersting/fun/whatever fact about yourselves. AGES AGO, when I spent a fleeting blip of my life on TK, I started what was supposed to be a "something borrowed" tradition with my veil. The veil was loaned/and subsequently gifted to me by another Knot bride and I thought it adequate after my wedding to pass the tradition. The veil was passed and then passed again...and then it all fell to pieces and that last bride was never to be heard from again. That still makes me mad.
ETA: Have you met a celebrity? Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson Witnessed a murder? I killed an ant just this morning Have a famous relative? unforunately, no A hidden talent? I am honing my talents at making fondant characters...it isn't hidden because I posted my Angry Birds on the Decorating Board today What are your feelings on 50 Shades of Grey? I think it's 50 shades of stupid and I'm in awe that it is such a hit...I can only attribute it to my theory that most of the women I know are closet porn addicts This is what I want to know. And now you know
I'm a black belt in Tang Soo Do (although I haven't practiced in nearly 8 years). I'm hoping to get back into martial arts once I start my normal 8-4 job instead of my 3-12s (and I'm a nurse!).
I work in IT and live in the Chicago suburbs. I won my engagement ring as part of a contest that required to me propose to DH. I have a 2 year old DD and another baby on the way.
Someone recommended 50 Shades of Grey for my book club and I said absolutely not. How do you discuss that one at a book club?! I'm not really interested in reading it, but I've heard some people say it has improved their sex lives..

Confessed lurker from 2005ish. Been married for almost six years, no kids. (If we would have married 2 days earlier my wedding date would have been 6/6/06)
Interesting facts about me: -New I would marry my DH from a picture. -Related to Harriet Beecher Stowe (author of Uncle Tom's Cabin). -I break out in hives every time we go on vacation. -In less than 2 months, we will be debt free...except for the mortgage that we just refinanced to a 15 year loan from a 30 and our payments stayed the same.
Been with DH for 12 years, married for 5. We have one DS and a dog. Oh and a fucking woodpecker who refuses to leave and likes to wake us up at 6am on the weekends.
I've met Jonathan Jackson from GH (Lucky) & his brother Richard Jackson (who was on SBTB: New Class). They had a band and played local charity events. This was when I was 14/15 and my bedroom walls were plastered with photos I clipped from Tiger Beat.
I have been lurking for a while and have learned a ton. Been married for 5 years, together 10. No kids 2 dogs. A long hair chihuahua who is my baby and a Catahoula bulldog rescue who is a pup and driving nuts. But I love him
Fun fact: Our sunday dinner every week is wine and cheese. Not MM but quite yummy

Late to join the party.
Lurker for a few months. Married for almost 5 years, 1 son (13 months old). I work in the auto industry. We're saving to buy a house within the next two years.
I haven't had any encounters with famous people, but my brother works in the movie biz so he's met quite a few famous actors and I get to learn all about who is nice, and who is a jerk ;D
