Yes, I will cook a package to freeze so I have some on hand for sandwiches or to have ready for breakfast. I just throw it in the frying pan for a minute or two and it’s perfect.
Congrats! I’ve been excited about baby latte’s arrival ever since you and I discovered we had SCHs around the same time last fall. Cheers to both of us having healthy pregnancies and beautiful, healthy babies! I’m so happy for your family!
Ok, so I hope I don’t clear this post out. I got cervidil Saturday night just after 8 to start my induction, and I was 0 cm. At 8:10 am Sunday, my dr broke my water and I was at 2 cm, then, a couple hours later I was at 3 cms, and they started pitocin. The nurse told me I could get an epidural now if I wanted it. At 11 I said I’d be good for maybe another hour or so I thought. I then asked for the epidural 10 minutes later and she didn't get there until 11:50, checked again, I was still about 3cms, so they began to place the epidural. It took 30 minutes to find a spot to get it in because my spine has so many bone spurs because of my RA. While she was working, my contractions started coming fast and furious, one on top of another. They checked me again after it was finally in place and I was 10. No one was prepared for how fast I dilated and even my doctor was shocked. The epidural definitely took the edge off the contractions after a while, but I could feel everything else. They told me that it didn’t really work like it should have, but I was just happy it did something. After pushing for 2 hours out she came. I have a lot of stitches but thankfully they are feeling a little better each day.
(PDQ name and picture) She weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 20 inches long. I hope this picture isn’t too big! She has a good night last night, so I am feeling a little better. She has a little jaundice, but they said that it should clear, so we just need to be mindful of that.
My induction went well! I will post the actual story in a bit (I have tried twice and accidentally wiped it out both times now). It started at 8pm Saturday night and I was at 0cms, and she was born the next afternoon! It went way faster than anyone thought it would, so it was surprising to us all. We got home last night and other than being extremely sore, everything is great!
Our induction was moved from Sunday morning to Saturday night, which is fine, but now I am starting to freak out. I have so much to do still but only 1.5 days left to get it done. I am meeting a friend for lunch and then I am going to plant my garden. I need to get that in before she comes, or we will not have a garden this year. I want to get everything done today so we can be lazy one last Saturday morning.
We aren’t telling our families that we are being induced. My MIL is so irritating, she would constantly be texting H or she’d try to come to the hospital to visit. Go away. I don’t even want to see you on a regular day, much less when I am in labor. My mom is super anxious when one of her kids is in labor, so hopefully this will just cause her less stress. Also, since we did IVF, everyone has known everything about this pregnancy every step of the way, and I just want to keep this for just us. Plus, who knows how long the induction will take! H thinks it’s weird, but he is going along with it anyway.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? 5 more days! I am definitely ready. We had a long weekend here this weekend and we did so much relaxing. Went to the movies, went out for dinner for our 10 year wedding anniversary, and overall just lazed around a lot. I now have a to do list that I need to get working on so I am ready come Sunday. My public bones are so sore and tender this week. It feels as though I was kicked.
3. Questions for the group?
4. How is your partner handling your pregnancy? Is he/she helpful? excited? detached? When we got our induction date, he said it was the first time it felt real to him. Then this weekend he was in full nesting mode. He got a lot done though so I am not complaining!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My induction has been scheduled - 13 more days! We did a quick maternity photo shoot Saturday, so I am excited to see how those turn out.
3. Questions for the group? What are the best pads to use after birth?
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was good. H bought flowers and we had a nice dinner
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? She will have 3 - age 7, 4 and 1, but they live about 5 hours away, so will only get to see them a couple times a year.
We have internal blinds on the doors going to our deck and they are great! We had them at our last house in the side door and never had issues with them their either.
I was going to install the car seat this week or next. I need to clean the car out before doing it, which is on the list this week.
I haven’t even thought about a hospital bag yet! We are within 10 minutes of the hospital, so I am not worried about it, but I guess I should start at least planning it soon.
For a quick lunch, it’s usually a smoothie or soup, depending on the day. The warmer it gets, the more I have been making or buying smoothies.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Met my new OB and she is nice. She has given us a week to discuss if we want to induce at 38 or 39 weeks and let her know at my appt Wednesday. We went on a weekend getaway this past weekend and I bought 98% of what we needed. I definitely went overboard with the baby clothes. 🤷🏼♀️ I am also done work now! It was so nice to sleep in today!
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you have Mother's Day plans? I usually make a mother’s day brunch for my mom and MIL, but I doubt I will feel like it this year. We will see closer to the day.
jade sorry things aren’t great right now. That is tough at any time, but to be this close to baby would be extra stressful.
3. Questions for the group? Third tri folks - what's left on your to do list?
I felt so ready until I realized I wasn’t! I took a clothing inventory last week and realized that I have a lot of clothes still to buy! I also need to buy crib sheets, mattress pads, bottle nipples, some ready made formula, stuff to make a little first aid kit, etc. - Need to install her car seat - Pack a hospital bag - Pick a name!! - unpack, clean and set up the Baby Brezza - get all feeding supplies ready - buy after birth supplies (namasteak how are you making your padsicles? What are the best pads to use?) - deep clean the house - organize her closet - clean out and organize the deep freeze - meal prep a couple freezer meals
I am sure there is more, I just can’t think of it. I will need to see other to do lists to jog my memory!
