I will add-everyone who tipped that little on a bill was also generally INCREDIBLY demanding and rude. I doubt that is the case here, but that is the negative association as well. Cheap people are generally the WORST and HARDEST to wait on. Ranch dressing girl, anyone?
hahah I get you. I typically tip 20% unless it's something REALLY cheap, like coffee, I always tip a dollar. I will keep the time thing in mind though!
Yeah, Coffee, a single beer at a bar, different. And I honestly don't mind if you have a $10 tab and you are in and out and leave $2. There is something about $2 on anything over $10, though... Waiting tables is harder than you would think and since you are the front man EVERYONE blames YOU and it sucks. The most I have cried in my life was waiting tables. I had someone write "eat something" on the tip line once. That is why the service industry workers tend to drink A LOT. (at least, i did and the people i worked with did).

Yeah, and people have no idea how hard it is unless they've worked in the industry. I read "Waiter Rant" and learned a lot and had a lot more respect for servers after hearing about how hard it is, I really just had never thought about it before. I definitely started tipping more after reading it haha (not that I was a shitty tipper before, but now I'm pretty consistently at 20%)
Uhm, well, mostly because I take like15 minutes to eat my meal. I have workwoulded as a waitress, and while it isn't fun, I wouldn't begrudge someone for a 2 dollar tip. Espically if they take like five seconds to eat their meal like I do. I just usually order a salad when I do this, and to be prefectly honest, if all I'm getting is a salad, well, I don't expect stellar serivce and I normally don't get it. People have better customers to serve than me.
Maybe if you tipped more than $2, you would GET better service. But it's all good. People have told you it's rude, you can continue to be rude. You do you. I just don't get being proud of doing something people have told you is rude.
I never said I was proud. I think you are under the impression I go to places that aren't diners and such. I also have to say it is rude to call me rude. I tip pretty damn high when service is good, but I also get that my measely house salad is pretty damn low on the priority list. As such, unless I get an actual meal with drink and every thing, and the bill is under 13, ill leave two bucks and whatever change I have.
YOU said it was flameful YOU said people said it was rude, yet I am rude for agreeing? Ummmmm okay? It's rude to call people out on their rudeness. New one for me, interesting. what did you expect? You post saying "flameful", you get flamed. Are you new here?
I may have a flameful. I generally leave like 2 dollars if my bill is under 15. I'm told by my waitress friend this is super rude.
^ is it rude for your waitress friends to say it is rude? or just me? Just trying to get the hypocrisy right. i don't dislike you, but yes, on this particular point, it is rude. You can get defensive and be an ass, or accept that I think it is rude, Gozf thinks it is rude, and your friends think it is rude, but you just don't care.
No, I just didn't really think it was THAT flameful. I feel like it is rude to call me a liar and basically saying I enjoy being rude. I mean, not even my friend makes this big of a deal of it. Also, I'm not particularly sure why you brought GOFZ up. You seem pretty tired and a little too invested in this.
So, while I didn't realize it was omgdiafrude, since well, no else I've asked thought it was, apparently you do. Whcih is fine. That is cool. I've waited on the type of customer I am, and to be frank, as long as they weren't rude and didn't take up my time, I didn't ind. I had other customers to serve who warrented my attention more. The costumers who were assholes could go fuck themselves, but the quiet guys who just took up ten minutes of my day? Not important enough to stress myself over.

And Pain-I'm not invested in it. YOU said you were told it was rude, I agreed, a poster asked why, I explained. Then you came back defensive and I responded. I just found it hilarious that it was rude for me to call you rude and you told me so by calling me rude. Tip what you want, but yes, I think it is rude. You don't have to care what I think.
