Most froo-froo drinks are about a million times too sweet for my taste. I like frozen margaritas if I make them myself and they're not sickly sweet.
S/O driving, the rules regarding who's at fault in an accident are bullshit. DH got in a minor accident because some douchebag lady accelerated as he was merging, but since he was the one merging, he's considered at fault. I don't think the rules take aggressive douches into account.
Agreed.
and S/O traffic accidents, I wanted to (but didn't) hit this guy with my car yesterday. There was an accident at an intersection which was not blocking the intersection and this douche got out of his car to direct traffic. AGAINST THE LIGHT. Yes, there was a traffic light, and douchbag still decided to get out and try to direct traffic. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR HIM TO. I told H about it and he was as pissed as I am. Apparently they (emergency responders) hate when bystanders try to do this kind of thing.
Unrelated: I just gave B her first "commercial" pouch. I used to make her purees and put them in the little green pouches, but she lost interest when we started giving her table food. I just gave her a sprout pouch and she sucked it down like there was no tomorrow. This slightly offends me because she doesn't eat it when I make it for her. I gave it to her because I wanted to see if it was just my food she didn't like any more and I wanted to know if she would eat when we are at Hershey.
This was my go-to cocktail until I realized that tonic is actually pretty caloric, so I switched to vodka & soda with lots of lime. Yum. Uh, can't remember the last time I had a cocktail...old JFH would find current JFH pretty damn boring, lol.
I guess my UO is I HATE the taste of alcohol and it grosses me out and makes me shudder just thinking about it so I am a froo-froo drinker all the way. Mojitos and frozen margaritas for life!

Walmart has dropped Paula Deen products. They aren't exactly perfect. Most of their merchandise comes from China which is a huge human-rights violator. Pot calling the kettle black...hello! I also think people are making a huge deal out of this too. No one is perfect and we all have said things in the past that is flame worthy.

There is a HUGE difference between saying something stupid and making racist remarks.

She is a national figure, who is obviously blatantly racist. I also can't stand the "throw the first stone". Yes I have done bad things unrelated to racism but that is no excuse for racism from anybody. If I owned a store and my employee said those things I would also fire them
My driving test was so easy. Too easy I would say. I only got my license last year. Though of the 20ish people tested that day (I may have been the only non-teen) only three people passed apparently. So this tells me that most teenagers are terrible TERRIBLE drivers.
Though I never took the test in Ireland I've heard it is tough and lasts a long time, like 30+ minutes! My test here in the US took maybe three minutes and they didn't even ask me to parallel park. My sister said when she took the test back home, they would make her reverse around a corner.

I can get my quoteing to work.. But this is about the Paula Dean stuff:
I do 100% believe it is possible for a person to at some point in their life use racial slurs, and change their ways.
My parents grew up in southern AL, when they were in school, the schools became desegregated. I know my grandmother used slurs while raising my father. By the time he passed away he saw the error of his ways, and changed.
My mother, I never heard her use a slur, and raised me to not be racist, but I am willing to bet if put under oath, she would have to admit to having said a slur at some point in her life. Simply based on where she grew up and in that time.
I have not been following the Paula stuff very closely, all I am saying is that people can change.
Really? NJ had one written and road. I think. Man, it was a long time ago.
At least back in the day when I was taking them. skiesthelimit - do you know? Not sure if Quebec has the same rule.
Quebec is different (isn't is always?). When I did mine I had to first pass a multiple choice test on the computer then they have me my "learner's permit" so I was allowed to drive but I had to have someone in the car with me that had their driver's license. I had to do that for a year, then I went on a drive along test with an evaluator and I passed and got my full license so I was able to drive on my own.
I know in Ontario they have like G1 and G2 or something.

I think all people are racist/prejudiced in some way or another. Definitely not to the same extent, but unless you live in a bubble I think prejudice is impossible to escape.
I do not think this excuses it, but it its truly something I believe and have learned. A high school teacher who did mediation challenged us with this and I struggled with it very much, but I think she was right. After bursting my (and classmates) bubble, she helped us learn how we could avoid acting on it which is the more important part.

I'm not taking up for her. She did wrong and I don't agree with her remarks at all. It just seems like she pissed off an employee that saw dollar signs.
Mine is similar. It was stoli raspberry and sprite.
Unfortunately, after one really bad night in college, I can't drink liquor anymore. Except things like margaritas/mojitos, etc.
Bad, bad night...
Oh yes. My bad bad night in college was due to Howl at The Moon buckets. Anyone familiar with those? I wont go near a bucket ever again.
My roommate and I were shot girls for Halloween one year. You know those girls at clubs who walk around with shots and sell them to you on the dance floor or something? We dressed up really slutty (of course) mixed up big jugs of liquor, put them in tool belts and walked around a party doing shots with our friends. We, unfortunately went shot for shot while doing it.
I cannot even smell Malibu without feeling like I am going to harf.

She's also not acknowledging that she did anything wrong.

Nope! But you can drink those while I drink something else!
I hate most kids music. Andrew listens to what we listen to. He loves The Beach Boys.
A listens to mostly our music too. I will continue to rave about the Barenaked Ladies-Snacktime cd though. I love it, and it cheers her up immediately. I do love BNL though, so that's still sort of my music.
