SS - I racked up a few thousand dollars of cc debt while I was college, and had to use my bonus from my first job to pay it off. It was enough for me to swear off cc forever. We don't have any cc.

Our amount due gets automatically taken out of our account at the end of the month. I also had the crazy college CC experience, and I will NEVER do that again.
We only use ours for car repair crap, so it's not bad. We tend to pay it off yearly with our tax refund. I wish we had more of a cushion to pay it off monthly. Ho hum I hate cc debt.

Everyone knows that I always pay it off forward because I'm the most financially responsible one here. I always keep a positive balance on my card.
OR. I don't even look at statements anymore because they make me sad. We really did have a positive balance on one we were closing because auto pay went one extra time. I've done that twice. Go me.
Omg! That is so lucky! It wasn't the csection that cost us so much as it was the anesthesiologist. We essentially got charged for a vaginal and csection delivery. Ugh!
same here! It would have been nuch cheaper I'd I didn't have insurance and had the tax payers pay for it.... But we won't go into that.
lol I feel like you've read my mind as of late! Seriously though, my H and I talked about it and a VBAC is just out of question because even attempting would cost us several thousand. Just too many chances of being high risk again and all that. It sucks but I am being realistic and would rather save the money. Sorry you had the same experience
Mostly pay it off monthly. During the summer when I don't get paid we sometimes carry a small balance because I can't bear to part with more money. Lol.
We have $3000 at 0% until 2015. It will be paid off by then. I also have $1800 for a dental procedure that is same as cash.
We put our honeymoon on a cc with 1.9% for 5 years. Goal was to pay it off in 5 years and we had it paid off prior, that was $12k. I went back to college and worked part-time for 14 months during that time. That was the most we carried.
We do use multiple cc monthly and we pay off our higher interest monthly even if we pay the 0% minimum balance due.
Tip: if you have a Wells Fargo mortgage, ask for their rewards cc (I forget actually name). For every $2500 you spend on the cc, you get $25 toward the principle of your mortgage. And no, you can't use that card to pay your mortgage.

I lied! I have a store card for a furniture store with zero interest for 5 yrs so I pay that monthly but it will be paid off before the interest startd to hit.

Right now, we mostly pay it off every month, unless we get something with 0% financing. In that case, we pay it off before interest starts.
I was about $10,000 in debt on my Amex with charges leftover from our wedding and honeymoon I paid it down to about $8,000, but the interest was killing me. I took a loan from my retirement to pay it off. The interest is much lower and I am paying the interest to myself. I should have that paid off next year.
Now that we have the income to allow it, we are really trying to pay everything off each month. We do put everything on th credit card for the points. We are charging daycare to a Disney credit card. Hopefully it will pay for our vacation one day!
We pay ours off every month. We only put online purchases or anything over 100 on it when we remember to use it. We should just stop since we opened it to get airline miles and we have put tens of thousands of dollars on it and its gotten us jack shit.
Four years of using it and we earned ONE flight to fly ONE of us to Italy. Not the return flight, and the way there would have taken 3 lay overs and 21 hours. No thanks.

You need a better card! We have the Capital One Venture card and earn a few flights a year on it. We just used points for flights to Ireland and London.
We also have the Citi Premiere Pass. We don't use it much because they changed their airfare rules, and they suck now. It does give a free domestic companion fare each year, so we pay the ~$75 annual fee and then use the free flight for somewhere expensive.

We pay it of each month. But twice when I was younger I got into cc debt. The first time was in college, just not really grasping the concept of how it adds up. I graduated with a few grand in cc debt. I paid that off, then a few years later in grad school, I built up some more cc debt. I can't remmeber how much that time. I am a slow learner about some things.

Dude! Get the Chase Sapphire Preferred! Great rewards, no foreign exchange fees, and the card is made of metal and makes you seem cool. Plus you get a tremendous amount of miles for opening it
We've carried up to 5K in debt before, mostly when we were moving and the few months I wasn't working and Abby was still in preschool. Other than those few times, we pay it off every month.
I can see how someone can get themselves into a lot of debt, though, because at one time I had a card that gave me a 20K limit. If you treat credit cards as actual money instead of considering what you really have, you're going to get into a lot of trouble.

To clarify, we do NOT pay off our card each month. I pay my utilities, car, mortgage, and 3 student loan companies every month on time. I feed my child with decently healthy food. Some months, I only pay the interest on the card. Sometimes I charge more than I pay for the month. I pay what we can afford each month. I'm not that bad of a person. So if you're like me, try not to feel too bad. We all know we'll be okay.
We pay them off every month and only use them to get the cash back to help pay for the holidays.
Now if you want to talk college loans, that's a whole different ballgame. Ugh.
Ugh, yes. We may pay our credit card off monthly, but grad school loans? Yeah. Those aren't going anywhere anytime soon. DH's graduate degree was expensive.

Tell me about it. I consolidated and then got on an income based plan since I'm not working, and the interest is so high and the payments are so low, if I keep paying this amount for 20 years I still won't have come close to paying it all off.

We need to introduce our husbands. H also loves talking about cc rewards and plotting how to get the most possible
