I'm all kinds of confused because I don't think I woul be good or happy at SAH yet I feel very stressed out being a working mom. I want to work part time with my full time salary.
You said this perfectly! This is exactly how I feel too.
Dh pulled a real shady move yesterday. W/O making this too long he basically invited a perfect stranger to stay at our house for 2 nights next week even after I told him NO! So I told him I'm going to do something he opposes and could care a less about his input. So I lowered the price of our house 2K, 1K for each night that stranger stays with us. He doesn't know yet, but I'll tell him when his stranger friend is over. I want out of our house sooo badly and I told DH we need to tank our price, he's never been on board........well now he has no choice.

Any exhibit or store that has a large quantity of one type of animal/insect really makes me anxious. Yesterday at a festival we went to, I took Claire into a butterfly exhibit with 600+ butterflies. They started flying into me and on me and I tried not to panic. I was also having anxiety about stepping on one. I also have that worry whenever I'm in a fish store, that I'm somehow going to step on a fish that got out of the tank. This has also happened at the Lorikeet exhibit at the zoo.

Not sure what happend there......but joyhart02 It is when your DH is a cheap ass and your your house is only listed for $99,900 (started at $103,500). And as childish as it sounds, I want him to feel the rage and anger I felt and this is a sure way to do it and "get back" at him.
I've never noticed this with any of your pictures. And to me, toys on the floor is different. I definitely have that going on all the time. It's more the piles of laundry, boxes, piles of paperwork. I just want to go organize.
please do! I can PM you my address?
I will pay you in hugs, or if you are anti hug, I will pay you in smiles.
I don't know, like...I feel like I furthered my education, I studied something I was interested in...did something in my field after I graduated, and that was it. I had fun- but I feel like that chapter in my life has passed, and I'm happy with it. I look back fondly on those memories, but I wouldn't want to be back there. I'm happy where I am, but it always seems like people are secretly thinking- "well what did you do with that degree?" I personally don't feel like my degree went to waste, but that's just me.
Oh, I don't feel like my degree went to waste. I'm a smarter person because of it and I have the potential to use it if I ever want to. I definitely feel like people are judging me for not using it though. I'm tempted to just say, oh I was a flight attendant or something
Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards
I couldn't be a flight attendant, so I settled for law.
laurack It's starting to feel like a shack. I desperately want out of this house. We out grew 2 years ago and I'm sooo ready to move on. Here's a link if anyone's interested.
I'm having quoting issues today, so I'm gonna tagg. @tambcat I think it's all about the layout. You guys just built and I'm sure your house is more open concept. Our house is old and boxy. We have very small square rooms. Plus we have 2 beds up, 2 down. I feel like outside of DH and I sleeping (we are in the basement) we only utilizes the 700 sq feet upstairs.

I meant for the buyer, over 30 years $2000 is not that much.
I also understand wanting your husband to feel the rage, good for you for doing that. We had the same battle when trying to sell our townhouse. We sold it by owner and my husband had it listed for a ridiculous price, it sat for a year without anyone looking at it.
We have cords showing too. And cabinets that aren't baby proofed, and probably a lot of other no-no's. Cam has never been a kid that gets into stuff or touches things he's not supposed too, so we never had a need. Plus, our apartment is like 3 rooms and I'm always in the same room with him so I am watching him.
I've pretty much completely given up on the screen time thing. In fact, I rented (lol, actually RENTED from the video store) Toy Story because I thought he'd like it. He sat right down in his chair and anxiously waited for it to start. And THEN, right after Mr. Potato Head came on, he jumped up, rummaged through his toy box and found his potato head. Then he sat back down with it and continued watching the movie. I thought it was freaking adorable and I dont even care that he's only 1 and watching movies.
Every time I post a pic of J in front of the tv, I think about how many people must be mentally criticizing the mass of cords I have hanging behind the tv stand.
Our tv is mounted, so we don't really have a choice whether cords show or not...oh well!
If you own your property and are bothered by the cords showing you can do a thing where you cut a hole in the drywall and run the cords in the wall. If you don't care, ignore me!

How does this work? Where do they plug in? Is it a DYI project? I'm interested.
My friends did it in their rental apartment (illegally, oops) and they drilled a hole behind the tv and they have the cords coming down and out of the non working fireplace somehow. It was a real PITA because it's a brick wall but I'd assume it's no big deal on a normal wall.
Our TV is mounted on brick and we have one of those cord hider things but it's still pretty obvious.

I would die of happiness if J would sit through a whole movie. I was never against screentime, but I have recently starting using the tv as a "babysitter" in the mornings while I finish getting ready and in the evenings while I get undressed and get her dinner ready.
eta: sit, not sent. Geez, it's like I'm having autocorrect problems on my computer lately. lol
@sprinkles that is the cutest thing. How sweet.
And no judging here over screen time. Ashlynn has a tv in her room, it's only for movies, but it can be a nice "break" when she sits and watches a movie. Chloe on the other hand has yet to sit still for movies. And for the record, A's tv area is partitioned off in it's own area with shelves, so it's not like she watches tv to go to bed or anything. It goes back to this small house thing.....we have no room for a playroom area.

The main thing is you really need to have an entertainment center below your TV (you could have one to the side it just makes it more complicated). If you have that you cut a couple inch hole in the drywall right behind the TV. Then you cut another one below that one and behind the entertainment center and nearish a power outlet where all the cords come out. You can then run your TV cables and power through the wall and out the hole below.

My guess would be you cut a small hole behind the tv and then another small hole near th outlet.

Audrey was walking around with her milk sippy and I have no idea where she put it. I went to look for it so she could finish it before her nap. After looking around for 15 min I have no idea where it could be. It's a giant curdled stink bomb waiting to happen!

I've been missing a wetbag with 2-3 presumably dirty cloth diapers for months. I really hope I lost it out in public and not in my apartment somewhere.
I'm pretty sure I don't like my husband anymore. I'm finding out that he lies a lot to other people so he is probably lying to me too. He also never has anything new to say. Like when we are having a conversation, he just keeps saying the same thing over and over and then gets pissed when I want to stop talking about it because its like watching the same 30 seconds of a movie over and over and over.
That being said, I will probably never divorce him so I've been feeling really depressed and stuck.
I'm sorry. I would try to work on things because your kids will pick up on things in a few years. What kind of things is he lying about? You have been together since you were pretty young, right?
So no one else is afraid of stepping on a fish when they are at a fish store? (huh)
LOL No, but I am kind of afraid of butterflies. Like, afraid I might squish their wings or something. The idea makes me want to vom. I had a monarch land on my arm one time when I was in elementary school. Up close, their bodies look pretty nasty.
Their bodies are very creepy up close.
I think my fear of stepping on a fish stems from a time my mom was buying fish and it jumped out of the net onto the ground. My sister has the same fear. lol
When people post pictures (FB, Instagram) of their adorable kids, pets, whatever, but their home is really cluttered and messy, I can't even appreciate the cuteness of the picture because I'm so distracted by the mess.

Neither was H but OMG D is a menace! We were so lucky with this the first time!
I wish I could take L to the circus. I know, it's awful, and I am one of the last people to want to perpetuate animal cruelty...but I have so many good memories of going when I was a kid. Back in the day when not everything was "bad for you", back in the time of blissful unaware. I sometimes feel like just taking him...but I know I would want to take pictures and you guys would see them and judge me, plus I would feel really guilty with the information I know now. I know it's wrong and they're treated badly...and that is awful...I guess I just miss the ability to do things I used to do as a kid with my kid, now that I know things are bad.
Right there with you. But since my poor kid had to eat black beans and hummus for lunch, he's probably not going to the circus anytime soon.
