OMG, talk about a major, major life change in a crazy short amount of time!! I can't even imagine making a decision like that in just 12 hrs! But how exciting for your family! Are your other girls excited?!
Good luck with everything...Charlotte is very lucky.
They didn't come with us this morning. But we went and got them to take them shopping with us. We explained that they had a new baby sister, and that she was going to come live with us.
DD1 understands, and she is excited about it. DD2 thinks we are buying everything for her. Lol. She keeps yelling 'MINE' in the store. And when we were testing out infant Carseats to fit in our car. She kept saying 'IN,IN'
Also. We had a hard time finding a car seat that will fit with a tall back booster, and a rear facing convertible. Oy. The mini van will be coming sooner then we expected.
We can't bring them into the NICU. so their first time with her will be when she comes home.

I got chills from your update! What a ton to process, and I can't imagine the changes that will be coming for you in the next few weeks/months. I'm glad that your DDs are excited. Can't wait to hear how things are going!
Also finding that kitten was serious foreshadowing... Now each girl has her own again
OH MY GOD!!!!! So true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Sunny side, let me know if there's anything I can do to help from afar - if you need stuff set up a registry and let us buy it for you!!!!!!
Thank you all so much! Your offers and well wishes mean so much. I know I haven't met any of you in person, but you are all such good people. =)
We ordered a crib. I got a bassinet. I think that will work for a while. She is so tiny. We got diapers and wipes and some clothes, one of the bouncy chairs, a swing and some bottles and formula and a car seat of course.
I feel like I must be missing some things. Anything I MUST have that I missed?
Congrats! So exciting, scary, overwhelming, and awesome. Sounds like you have enough to get started. Swaddling blankets maybe? I can look through our infant clothes and send what I have

Congratulations! Best wishes to your family
I think a feeding tube for a few hours or a day or two is "normal" if that is the boost the baby needs to get strong enough to be able to suck by herself.

I don't know you at all, but congratulations! I think this is an amazing thing you are doing.
I don't know what kind of car you have, but when we had a Honda Pilot (2007, or 2008 I think?) we had to fit 3 car seats across - one high backed booster, one convertible (rear facing) and an infant carrier. The booster and convertible were Britax and the infant carrier was Chicco.
We now have a minivan, and it is way easier - lol. Plus no one is rear facing anymore, thank goodness.
Do you need any clothes? I have tons of mint-condition baby girl clothes. We are done having kids. You can have whatever you need/want...from my baby Charlotte to yours! My Charlotte is 14 months now so I have a whole year's worth of clothes for you in the same-ish seasons if you want them. Just say the word sunnysideup488

My parents adopted my brother on a day's notice (they were actively trying to adopt, though, so a bit different circumstance). Going on a fast and furious shopping spree with my mom to buy all the baby things is still such a fun memory for me (I was 5 at the time). How fun for your girls to be included!

The social worker called. He said the doctors are 99.9% sure she can come home tomorrow around noon. (as long as nothing transpires over night)
They removed her feeding tube a couple of hours ago. They offered her a bottle at 5:30 and she took the whole thing. No problem.
He said the doctor said 'it's almost like she knows if she eats like she should, she can go home tomorrow.'
Gah!!
The girls have been playing with their dolls. A is calling it Charlotte and being super gentle. E just drags the doll around. So, we'll have to be careful. Lol
