I just didn't have a good first impression. She was tough on me in one of my posts as a newbie. Who knows, maybe she was having an off day. I know how much this board loves her, but I can't shake off my first impression. First impressions die hard, yo.
Are you really still holding a grudge because she was tough on you? Chances are, you needed to hear what she had to say. Tosa is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

I am teetering on the edge of becoming one of *those* douchey Instagram fitness people. I really want to post a picture of my abs (because baby sixpack!). The only reason I haven't is that someone I can't stand posts pictures of herself in a sports bra to show of her abs all.the.time., and mutual friends and I make fun of her for it. I would rather feel morally superior than get some likes on a picture...but I'm not sure how long that'll last.

I'm pretty impressed that you have a baby sixpack. Have you always been thin and muscular, or is it something specific you've been doing recently? I've always had a poochy belly. (wilted)

rbp I was kind of a pudge as a kid and just leaned out as I got older, thank you genetics. NEVER imagined I would have even baby definition though. It's a combo of the Crossfit (1.5 years) and diet for me for sure - the little pooch over my lower abs feeds on sugar, so if I'm eating dessert every day (which I usually am*) then there's an extra layer of fat, but if I go a few days with lower sugar it goes away.
*Second flameful: I did not tell my H about the pint of Haagen Dazs I purchased, and I stored it in the freezer behind other things so he wouldn't see it. I wouldn't have lied if asked directly, but considering it costs $7 here and was a special treat I bought myself, I really didn't want to share.

This might be flameful.
DH hates that I sometimes talk to my ex husbands family.
The hardest part of leaving him was feeling like I might lose them. They were the family I didn't have growing up.
Ex-FIL invited me to get lunch with him and his daughter next week. I want to go. But H would be pissed.
ETA: I don't like my new MIL. She is loud and rude. The girls are mixed race, and she thinks racist jokes are okay, because she isn't use repeating what her dad would say'. I shut that Shit down. I made DH tell her that we won't be visiting her until she gets her Shit straight.

You better believe if I had a baby sixpack I'd be posting that shit all over the internet.

I have to hide ice cream from my H too. When not pg, I'll get a pint of really good stuff and savor it over a few days. (ETA: When pg, I go for broke and get the whole carton.) If he knows about it, he might pound it back in one sitting!
I will definitely be doing some low-carb eating to lose this baby weight. I've just never been dedicated enough to fitness to get much muscle definition. Good for you, very impressive!
The fears thread on ML has left me paranoid. Based on our current knowledge of family histories, it is likely that I will outlive DH by a long while, and Alzheimer's is prevalent in my family. I am seriously afraid I'm going to be 80, have Alzheimer's and no one's going to know or care.
So in the 40 or so years when we're all still on here, check in on me please.

EXACTLY. No dude, if you aren't going to savor it, you can eat cheapo ice cream. #sorrynotsorry
And hamster, please note the "teetering"...if it ever gets to a real sixpack, all bets are off. Post ALL the selfies!

@buckybells, that plan makes me nervous for you because you've said before that a big reason you got married to your ex was finances and it seeming to make sense. Don't fall into that trap again!
I call BS on not remembering your own screen name. 'fess up!
Agreed. How do you remember the screen name of someone who made a comment you didn't like years ago but you don't remember your own screen name?
LOL. Suuuuuure.
I actually had to search for tosa's name. I never have anything flameful to post. So it took a while for me to think of something MM would find flameful. I had to look at old TN posts. I remember the avatar but not the name.
@buckybells, does he already have permanent resident status or is he here on a student visa? Getting married may not automatically qualify him for the tuition reduction for next year. Getting a green card takes time.
