She wants to know if she can take a stick of butter on her carry on to Nassau so she doesn't have to buy an entire pound of butter when she arrives at her vacation destination because dairy is expensive.
I feel like one of (the only?) perk of being Paula Deen is that probably people are falling all over themselves to give you butter no matter where you go.
When I lived in Mississippi DH and I parked at home depot. We were getting out when I noticed the car next to us had a tub of country crock with the lid off and a spoon stuck in it. There were scoop marks. We waited 20 minutes in a car with no air conditioning in July to see who it was but they didn't come out.... Hmmm....

Dude, pancakes for breakfast in the Bahamas?? Oy. Just no. Go, eat the local food. Unclench. Enjoy life. When we went to Jamaica, I had the idea of cooking there for some meals. Uh, no. Their stuff there is SO different - the kitchen set up, the food at the stores. It's not like you just hit up your local store & it's the same as at home. They carry local stuff. It is cheaper to eat out locally than it will be to find the things for pancakes, waffles, bagels. etc. there. Also, LOFL that they will have a waffle iron. NO.
OK, that aside. She is being short sighted. The purchase & consumption of Americanized foods in very foreign & secluded location is one of the MOST expensive things you can do. Like, if there is a storm, their ability to run a credit card is down. It is secluded & she is going to buy bagels? Uh, no. Bad idea. Go to the local farmers markets, get local produce. FOR CHEAP. Stop being obtuse.

The look is because???
She wants to pack butter because she wants to not spend money she doesn't need to. OK, but her other actions are completely counter intuitive of that theory.

She does have a toddler. The bread products, pancakes, etc. might be largely for him if his diet consists mostly of bread like many toddlers' do. Also, I think I recall her saying that they have some allergy issues in their family, so maybe they need specific items. I have no problem with anyone getting a place with a kitchen and eating some meals in. I just thought she should reconsider packing food that will surely melt just to save a couple bucks. Fit the expensive vacation butter into the travel budget.

I get that, I do. But if you want to save all the money, then maybe you should look beyond packing butter. That's really my point. I SWEAR. lol

b/c i was confused! what are you saying?? well i see your f/us and i get what you are saying now, but it's really digging deep on a post about butter, lol.
Well, @booby did it ever occur to you that maybe I have been drinking? Gah!

A lot of people said pretty much that exact same thing in her MM post. Specific cost-saving suggestions were offered.

I agree. I like the OP & it's one thing to bring hard-to-find food because of allergies but butter from Connecticut =/= cheese from France. Even MM has its limits!
