I went to a chorio c/s, and yeah. That was unforgettable, in many ways.
What is a chorio?
Chorioamnionitis. It's basically an infection of the amniotic fluid. It's usually from prolonged rupture of membranes and/or GBS. It has a very distinctive and unique smell.
Oh good lord people. How many times do I have to say this? Most of you do not poop. Seriously. I see cords around the neck more than I see poop. And if you do, no one cares. I can absolutely tell when I walk into a poop room though. But I am pretty good at discerning normal labor smells vs other things.
Again, most of you don't poop. In the last month I can count three or four maybe and I have been in a lot of deliveries. An enema sounds like the worst idea ever. We had a nursery nurse that took laxatives before she went into labor to try and clean herself out. It was bad, very bad.

The worst and most horrifying shit of my life was the first one post my weight loss surgery. I was only on fluids and protein shakes for two weeks AND on some liquid laxative.
I was lying down resting and then all of a sudden THE GURGLING.
apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
I also want to say that my experience is a little different but I'll be delivering with a room full of coworkers lol.
This is why I refuse to deliver at my hospital. Its going to be more expensive, but I can't have my colleagues seeing me shit on the table!
I work in the ICU, but we get alot of pregnant women who hemorrhaged or MVCs with pregnant women, so the L&D nurses and docs come down to check fetal heart tones and pregnancy related stuff all the time. We get pretty close with those RNs and MDs.
I can't imagine not delivering at my hospital. You know you will get the best care with people who know you, and you can get the best CRNA, and the best rooms. Don't be silly.
Yes, avoid hemabate at all cost. I get the doc to try everything else before we go there.

I will say that the special treatment will be nice. I'm having NICU in my delivery and I could even request the neonatologist if I wanted to, regardless of lack of complications. I think I'm okay without the neo though, as long as things are going smoothly. Plus my night shift NICU nurses are demanding to babysit so they can cuddle the peanut and I can sleep. No complaints here

I know my hospital, and I KNOW I don't want to deliver there.
I don't know if I pooped with my first, but I know I pooped with Clare. I know this because the dr said "okay, we'll just clean you up...". dude. I did not need to know. There is no way I could have been sure without him saying that.

Ehh, we clean everyone off right before the baby is about to come out. There is a lot of stuff going on down there. It isn't a sterile procedure of course, but just what we do. You might have, but that statement doesn't necessarily mean you did.

I don't care if I poop (well maybe a little..)but I told my husband he is NOT allowed to watch the delivery, just be in the same room on the opposite side, maybe next to me or something lol.. so there's that. He doesn't seem to mind, lol.

I definitely pooped because I could tell.
I know what pooping feels like and it was definitely happening. H confirmed.
It's cool. I'm okay if I'm in the minority.
The only person there who had never seen a woman poop was H and that, luckily, was not the part that has stuck with him. Having a baby come out afterward made the pooping part unimportant.

I totally pooped. I felt it. I know my midwife wiped my butt. I could not have cared any less while trying to push my baby out. I'm shocked at how many people are legit horrified to poop during labor. Maybe I'm just super #breezy about shit during birth?
I just.. don't think pooping is that big of a deal. At all. Well, obviously, this is after the fact. I'd probably be horrified beforehand, lol. I'm definitely not ashamed of it, that's for sure.

I pooped in front of DH camping lonnnnggggg before i shit/did not shit on the delivery table. Oh well, it wasn't my Idea to go campus, and I was promised toilets!
My H assures me that I didn't poop with any of mine. But with my second, when they asked if I felt the urge to push, I screamed, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO POOP! H still teases me about that one. lol.
