Maybe something like that? Otherwise, i think if the regulars don't mind folks asking the same questions that had been asked previously, then it's not a big deal for people to come in and ask redundant questions. Maybe just tag or quote people when they ask for a rec so it doesn't get buried in the thread?
We have this already. ::looks at stickied thread::
I'm on the app so I didn't see it before but I meant a stickie that was more makeup specific and the threads being broken down into categories, like favorite foundations, skincare, eyeshadows.
But I really have no skin in the game, just playing off the suggestion to have rec threads.

Shadey minerals samples arrived today. I'm a fan of all but the emerald (I had to use a damp brush to get any real color. Top to bottom: maroon matte, lovely leo, grey matte, emerald, black amethyst, cobalt matte.
The only thing I'm excited about in my Ipsy bag this month would be the eyeshadow brush. I'll be cancelling my subscription, I think.
What else are you getting? Last month was teeerrrible for me. I didn't even touch the stuff except for the chapstick, which WTF like that is fun.
I am getting Be a Bombshell powder, blush, Deep conditioning mask, Nourish face cleasner and the Pacifica nail polish.
I am intriqued by the powder and the other stuff will be fun to try out.
I got the powder, the cleanser, and the nail polish. Instead of blush, I got lipstick in a color called Cabernet which is sheerer than I was hoping. I'm probably allergic so I shouldn't care but I was disappointed. I haven't slathered it on my lips yet so I'll let you know. Instead of a mask, I got some kind of hand cream, which okay, whatever.
I adore the nail polish color. I was excited that both the lipstick and the nail polish were nice burgundies seeing as how I've been discussing that color of late.

I am PISSED because mine is suppose to be out for delivery and it.is.not.here.
I have looked forward to this all day. It would have been the perfect Monday perk. booo
I know IIOY has already sung the praise for MUG, and I will get to see how long they wear tomorrow, but I got my blushes and eyeshadow in the mail. I love the texture. It's really making my decision on whether or not to get Vice 3 or singles difficult.

Here's my review post from MUT2.0I'm fair with yellow/olive undertones. I have green eyes, and dark brown hair. Skin is normal.
Holy Grail
La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50 Anti Aging Primer- It's pricey, but you use a very small amount. I have worn it all summer, in hot and humid NC. I haven't had sun burn, and it does a great job keeping my makeup from melting off in the heat. I have very sensitive skin, and have had no burning or reactions.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush- I own 2 colors: Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure. I love them. I barely use any product, the color payoff is excellent, and it lasts all day. I want every color.
Favorite MUA- Lisa Eldridge. I love watching her tutorials. She does a variety of looks, she isn't 20 (although her skin is fab), and I trust her opinion.
Loves
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. For a TM, it has great coverage. It never feels cakey, or oily. It's wonderful. I use the Illuminating, but plan to buy a regular as well.
Too Faced A La Mode Eyes palette- I love this palette, and have used it almost everyday this summer. I don't know if I'll wear the pink a lot this fall, but I will definitely be wearing the blue, coral, and browns. I wish Too Faced made a full size of Jardin and Monaco, I love them so much. I have yet to notice any fallout (which is a major peeve I have with Naked 3), and love how pigmented these shadows are.
It Naturally Pretty palette- This one is a bit dustier than than the Too Faced palette, but I still haven't had any fallout like my Naked 3. The colors in this are versatile, and very pretty. I have greasy lids, but I don't need to wear primer with this palette. Even when I wear some of the darker colors, I have yet to feel like a clown (lol). I will definitely buy a 2nd version when (if) it comes out.
LANCÔME Blush Subtil- BMT this was my favorite blush ever. I still love it. It's the only blush in my life that I've used every last speck, and re-bought (many times over).
Nars Lip Gloss- I got a deluxe sample of Priscilla from Sephora, and it's awesome. Temptalia lists Priscilla as one of the longer-lasting shades in the new formulation of glosses. For me, the gloss will stay glossy for about 40 minutes (which is crazy long for me-I'm always eating or drinking) and the color will last for another couple hours (which has never happened).
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder- Like the blush, I love the powder. I've been using Luminous Light as a finishing powder. It's not glittery, or shimmery, but gives me a nice glow. I want to buy the palette.
Anastasia Brow Wiz & Brow Gel- both are awesome, and will always buy.
LANCÔME eye shadow- love both their cream and powder eye shadows.
Meh
Clinique Cheek Pop- I was really excited about this, but am disappointed. I love the color, but I have to use a lot of product, and it only lasts about 4 hours.
Naked 3- The only reason it's a Meh is because every color with shimmer (all but 1) has major fallout. Ugh. I love the colors, and lasting power!
Yes to Grapefruit CC- the smell has always bothered me (smells like chemicals), but I really liked it until it started turning orange on me

I played with the new smaller MUFE palette today. I'm so impressed. I don't think I'll buy it because I have comparable colors already. Plus whoah shimmer. If you don't have a lot of palettes I'd consider it.
Cat eye challenge. I was actually all about the cat eye this weekend but didn't get any pictures. Here is my cat eye from playing around tonight. Top picture is subtle, bottom dramatic. I used Lancôme artliner that came in the new sephora glitz and glam (?) bag. OMG it is amazing! I know I have complained many times about being eyeliner challenged but this thing practically draws the cat eye all by itself:)
Please ignore the other eye. I was just playing with blues in that one.
My lips are the mrs mia wallace lip liner with gloss on top. I found that much neater and easier to apply than the lipstick and I do like the color.
For those who haven't had success with Ipsy, are you reviewing the products you get? Ipsy has gotten better for me over time, but I am religious about reviewing what I like and what I don't. As in 'Don't send me this shit again', or 'WTF is this color'. I give a lot of feedback and almost always appreciate 3 of the 5 items. This time I like all 5.
I think this is the mistake I made when I had ipsy, not providing feedback. The colors were horrible for me. It was like they thought I was a fair skinned blonde, not a medium skinned brunette.
Plus, no one cares if things get repeated. It's OK to discuss product X or issue Y a thousand times. You aren't bothering anyone with your questions just because they may have been discussed on pages 3, 21, and 78 of the first thread, because the info is new to someone other than just you. HONEST.
Exception: COLOR THEORY
Can you please explain color theory? I definitely missed that.
My BFFs just sent me a $75 Sephora gift card to congratulate me for graduating from my Master's program last spring. I already spent half of it on three MUFE Artist shadows/case. So, in case anyone was wondering if I needed more eyeshadows after seeing my stash in the dearly departed MUT 2.0, the answer is no.
I'm saving the other half for the first holiday set to catch my eye.
I tried out the sally Hansen polish from my I pay bag. So far meh. If it really lasts 2 weeks I'll change my tune, but it went on kind of thick and gloppy. And the brush is Huuge. And I was too lazy last night to clean up my cuticles after huge thick gloppy polish got all over them.
Also the saddest most wimpy cat eye you've ever seen.
(Sleek storm pink and brown, ulta gel pencil in brown)
I'm working up to doing the real thing. I cant quite wrap my head around winged liner at work.
Also wearing one of those outlast lip stains. The marker style ones. It goes on kinda patchy despite exfoliating the crap out of my lips.
Can someone walk me through blush? I haven't used it in 10+ years because I think it makes me look clownish. Recommendations (I have medium-light skin with warm tones) and links to application techniques appreciated.
Blush is one of my essentials!
I like the MAC blushes and Kat von D has some nice ones. I don't know about drugstore ones though.
I find the RT blush brush too fluffy for blush and I actually use it for applying bronzer. I use a sephora 55 powder brush for powder blush or the RT stippling brush for gel/cream.
Also, if you feel like you out it on too strong, apply it over your foundation before you apply powder. The powder will mute it a bit and increase staying powder. I actually apply some under my powder and then top it off after the powder also. But I keep a light hand.

BMT I definitely thought my cheeks were too red for blush! Now, it is one of my favorite things. My starter blush that I bet would look great on you was benefit rockateur. It is scented though. I second ESF about exposed (tarte). Both of those take work to go clownish:)

msmerymac another option (on the cheap side) would be nyx cream blush in natural. Both HBC and I love it - so I'm confident it works on a variety of skin tones and i'm pretty sure it's next to impossible to make it look clowny. It's just a really soft pretty pink and blends out really easily.
