I have the same first name, last name of an infamous/notorious person from the 90s. It is always an easy "ballpark" gauge of someone's age- if they make a joke about it, I know they are probably in their thirties at least.
Not me, but my brother's name is Jesse. I get so annoyed on his behalf when people spell it Jessie. No. He's male. It's Jesse.
I am one of the legion of Jens in the world, so I'm rarely misspelled. But the worst botch job is the local Fox morning news person named Jennaphr Frederick. (I had to look up to confirm the spelling because its so awful)

I've only known one other woman in my entire life that has my name.
It's the standard spelling but it's a man's name so people can never wrap their heads around the fact that I'm (obviously) a woman, and my name is... (not a safe place)

I always, always have to tell people how to spell my name. Although in cases where it doesn't matter - like putting my name on the wait list at a restaurant - I don't bother. It's not a particularly yoo-neek spelling, really...it's just different than what people assume.
I'm Afton, but I've seen it spelt Aften, Aftin, Aftan, or Aftyn. I was going to change it to Aftyn when I was young and dumb but my mom put a stop to that thank God.
I once worked with an Afton! But I don't think it was you, so no worries :-)
My name is Sarah. I haven't seen any butchered or creative spellings...yet. I'm sure they're out there.
My name is Sarah too, one time I was talking with this girl I know and I guess we were talking about names or something, can't remember, and I said that I spell my name with an h. She started going off how it doesn't make sense to spell it with h, it's so dumb, and it's not even pronounced how it's spelt. When she eventually got to the pronunciation part I was like "What are you talking about??", turns out she thought that 'Sarah with an h' was spelt 'Shara'. Her entire life she somehow had never seen it written as Sarah, and kept thinking it was Shara. Mind boggling.

This is one reason why I am glad my name is a month. Everyone knows it. There is no other spelling unless you are using a different language which is wrong and not my name. Hah.
I have a very typical irish "girl" name. I'm amazed how many people can not pronouce it correctly, I'm ok if they leave out an L or an E when spelling although my way is the correct way but for the life of me I can't understand how people don't get the leen part of my name and continuely misprounce it.
Anne is always a good one with in our family... we have a lot of Anne's and I'm so used to spelling it with an E at the end that I find it so strange when people forget it!
