Nope. I wish they weren't trying to paint him as such a villain, but apparently that's how they're playing it.
And WTF with the Frank-searching-for-Claire scenes in the preview? Not that I have any problem with adaptations deviating from the source material when it's done well (see: the garrison commander episode), but I don't caaaare about Frank's feelings right now!
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT CRAP?!
NEWFLASH - WE NO LONGER CARE ABOUT FRANK. DID YOU SEE JAMIES ASS?!?
I loved it. Absolutely. I was thinking "this is the beginning of it all!" I'm already thinking ahead to Voyager.
I actually liked it too.
The flashback throughout. The little moments where Jamie really showed Claire that he loved her.
I HATE that they left out the "no lying" speech that Jamie gave. Because that ties in to when he says he loves her later.
I really hope they work it into next week's episode. It's such an important part of their relationship, especially the part where Jamie acknowledges that there are things they may not be able to share with one another, but the things they do share need to be the truth.

Yeah, it's pretty important to the rest of book one. That is, unless, they're planning to massively truncate the rest of it.

It kinda looks like they are!! What the hell is this "sketch" of Jamie and frank trying to find them?!
My husband texted me earlier that he's going on two hours sleep in the middle of a major training exercise in the hot California desert. I don' think he'd appreciate me telling him how hot this week's Outlander was. His loss that he's not here right now.

No really. WHAT IS THAT?!
ETA: SPOOOOLLLEEERRRSS if you haven't read the books!
This is the sort of thing that belongs in the Voyager season, or maybe even someplace in the DIA season. This one? It had better be short and really compelling is all I'm saying.
My guess is that after the hiatus it'll be Castle Leoch and the witch trial in one episode (maybe two at the outside), Lallybroch in 1.5, then back to the stones in an episode, then three with Black Jack, before the finale in France.
