I hate that they left out that it was the same church. I hate that they changed her ring! I hate the part with Dougal propositioning her. And I hate that they left out the part about respect having room for secrets but not lies.
I love Claire's dress. I think Jamie looked gorgeous as all hell, even if they didn't give him his red tartan. The sex FINALLY got good. And I liked the scene with Ned getting the dress.
I loved seeing all the men getting the wedding ready. The church. The ring. The dress.
So awesome.
The books gave us Claire's POV on the wedding, and even though we got Jamie's perspective later I really liked seeing most things through his eyes in this episode. It was different enough to keep things fresh while still true enough to the source material to feel familiar. I do wish the rings had been kept as they were in the book, though. I loved him marrying her with Brian's ring.

Oh, and I really liked the part where, when Jamie offers to help her undo the laces on her corset, when he held out his hand to help her stand up off the bed. That shot of him holding out his hand is like the show's promo poster. Loved.
I have legit said "Awwww" both times now when he's bowed and said, "Your servant, madam." Officially calling that my favorite non-naked-Jamie moment of the series.
I feel like it's going to be a completely new plot point.
Maybe it's as simple and trite as being the key to his heart and proof he loved her before the wedding. But I admit my curiosity is piqued at the idea of a longer term plot device.

How could it be the key to Lallybroch, when he left his sister there, and it's still a running farm and all? I mean, a duplicate key, sure, but then it doesn't have the same impact symbolically.

Not to mention, that when he did it later on in the book, it was when Dougal was widowed and Claire was the verge of being the same. This is a lot creepier.

Yeah. And I guess he still wouldn't have it since the last time he was there he was taken to fort William with nothing but his clothes.

YES.
A million times yes. And the proposition was done to gain land. Dougal had a crush, but he was always thinking logically.
But I think we need more villains in the show. I guess Dougal gets I become one.

Bah. I think Jack Randall is more than enough villain. I miss nuanced Dougal.
I think after the intensity of the last episode, this one was just a little bit of a let-down for me. Jamie describing the wedding was so beautiful, I loved the snippet of she and Frank on their wedding day, her wedding rings, but I think that was it for me. Dougal perving on her...man, you gotta stop drinking and propositioning Claire. I do appreciate that he is intrigued by and appears to respect her (obviously not enough to keep his hands off, but, for her healing, strength, etc.). Keep the perving to a minimum, sir, and we'll get along fine.
Maybe I just want to talk about the sex and not actually see it. *sigh*
I thought the sex was mostly fine. I was a little put off by the first time, because in the book he was very nervous ("or ask me to stop, anytime until we are joined - I dinna think I can stop then"), and here he was all "If I need help, I'll ask for it" before throwing her on the bed and going at it. ^o)
