Also parking related. Clara's preschool has a massive parking lot on one side of the (small) campus, and another tiny lot (10 spaces crammed together in a horribly tight layout) for toddler dropoff on the other side of campus.
There are two toddler parents with giant SUV's (one's a freaking suburban) that insist on using the tiny lot. Then they get stuck trying to get out and ratfuck the whole lot. (That enters off a super busy street). Every. Single. Day.
If you're going to insist on having a vehicle that huge, you should be required to use the big lot only. Raaaage.

I don't understand how people can live like this. It's so stressful and so avoidable! I drive a Matrix, so it's super small in momcar standards. But I still always park far away everywhere because I never feel like dealing with getting OUT of lots. I'd rather fight with my children to stay close/hold hands than fight with other people getting out of spots/people walking to cars.

I have one. I still rock Lily to sleep for her nap. She snuggles me and I rock her a little and then just hold her till she's asleep. I know this is why she has a hard time taking naps at my MIL house. She falls asleep on her own at night (listens to music). I feel a little guilty but I miss her so much at work and those weekend days of pre-nap snuggles are special to me. Does anyone else still do this?
No, but I would if she liked it. Edie was 4 in September and up until 3 nights ago, we layed in her bed until she went to sleep. We're trying to break her of that now. I hate it.

Jamie's preschool parking lot is also super tight and everyone has an SUV. It's crazy in there trying to maneuver. My car has parking sensors and they go off constantly when I'm trying to get around there
My hospital has a badly designed parking garage. It is strongly suggested that employees park in levels above 4 and leave the lower levels for patients. Sometimes on days I am running late, I have parked on the 3rd level. If you get there after 8am, it is guaranteed you will have to go allllllll the way to the top level and maybe get lucky to find a spot. I always feel like a schmuck when I do it though.
I used to wonder about this, my ob's office is in the hospital. On the 3rd lever there is a sky way right into the building. I always parked there and there were tons of spots open. On the first floor, it was always super crowded. I assumed people who weren't familiar with the hospital and the skyway would always go to the first floor, but I would have thought employees knew about the 3rd floor spots. I wonder if the hospital had rules about where the employees parked, and thats why they were always open?

I constantly waver between "it's our special time" and "oh crap this is a bad habit that I may regret later". She takes good naps for me though so I'll probably keep doing it, eek.
@dragonmommy422 I'm in a similar boat. I love my child, but I'm really don't like his 2-year old self right now. Recently I have been so relieved dropping him off at daycare in the morning and then I feel so bad because I only get to see him in for 2 hours in the evening. And I'm normally counting down how long it is until bedtime ...
Our condo association asked us three weeks ago to remove our large storage bin outside....... And we still have not done it. It's kinda a headache and we keep putting it off. I wonder when we'll get in trouble.

Jackson still has to have me lay down with him for naps which is essentially the same thing. I'm not worried about it right now. It'll all work itself out at some point.

I bought Henry a raindeer shirt that he hasn't worn yet, so I am going to return it. I feel guilty returning a Christmas shirt so close to Christmas bc I know they won't be able to sell it. (Wow, that sounds redic when I write it out). I will move on, haha.
I'm a stickler for making sure Andrew is bathed the night before school. His teeth are brushed, his hair is combed, and he has a healthy breakfast before he goes off to school. Yesterday, none of that happened. Unbrushed, disheveled, and existing off of dry Cheerios for the win. I'm just proud that we made it out of the house alive.

yeah, i think you're still good artgal84. as long as you're both into it! she actually won't require it forever. if she gets too big and you want to evolve your snuggle time, maybe consider a full sized bed for her so you can lay with her. but she won't be 15 and unable to fall asleep without you rocking her.

A couple Christmases ago, when we went to MIL's apartment, we were sitting inside and all of a sudden a cop came up and started writing a ticket on my car. MIL went out to talk and apparently we had parked in a handicap spot. There was no sign and the ground was covered in snow so we couldn't see the painted symbol on the ground. Thankfully MIL git the cop to let us just move the car.
Anyway, handicap spots should have a sign AND painted in the ground!

Dylan's 4K teacher sends home a newsletter each week saying what they are learning about and specific projects and stuff. So this week they are learning about December holidays. Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. It said that they made and played with a dreidel so I asked dylan what a dreidel was and he said a candle holder. I really hope he just messed up what they were teaching him rather than the teacher messing up!
M's school has first time visitors parking - I always park there during pick up/drop off if there's not a good close spot. I figure nobody's probably visiting at that time anyway and it's a long walk to the door and it's freezing out!
I think there I should be reserved spots for families with infants/young children. Toting a car seat or trying to wrangle toddlers is much more difficult than being pregnant. Brought to you by the reserved spots for expectant mothers at MFM and BabiesRUs ...

Kind of. If A had her way, I'd be rocking her for every sleeping event. However, I only rock for bedtime and not until she's asleep. I'll rock for 10-15 min max.
I would never park in a handicap spot, under any circumstances. I also occasionally partake of energy drinks. I blame it on the inability to consume coffee. But I'm talking less than six a year.
A was rummaging through the "baby" drawer and found a random paci. She stuck it in her mouth and has insisted on sleeping with it every night. Naps, she's fine. I'm going to have to throw it out but she goes to sleep within minutes with it and it usually takes her 30-45 min on her own. I wish she could keep it but then I'd feel like I was letting her ruin her perfect teeth.
Eta: She hasn't even had a paci in a year! I guess the attachment is strong in that one.

Lucas picked out a toy last week and I bought it for him. After he went to sleep I hid it and planned to give it for Christmas. He asked about it and I said santa will bring it back for Christmas, thinking he would forget about it. He tells me every day that Santa is going to bring his rocket back for Christmas!!! Dang it he is already to old to take Christmas shopping.
The malls I've been going to have new special spots for hybrid vehicles. Me and my Prius feel like badasses when we get to park there.
The aquarium here has spots for "fuel efficient vehicles." I always park there bc it doesn't specify HOW fuel efficient it has to be. And for an SUV my car gets decent mileage.
And then they have a bunch of spots to plug in your electric car and I have never ever seen anyone plug in their car

My hospital has stupid rules about where employees can park in the tower too. I don't know them or follow them when I go because I work in accounting a few block away.

I am using bereavement today to help my dad get stuff ready for the memorial service this weekend. This is the second time in a year that I have lied to work about who died so I could use bereavement. (I am out of PTO since Noah keeps getting fevers) We are going to run out of grandparents who have already died.

Her big girl room has a full sized bed actually (partially for this reason). We are putting it together this weekend.

Wegmans changed their expectant mother spot signs to include "parents with small children" it's great!
Every time I'm with my MIL and all the handicap spots are filled and I see cars without tags (as we are trudging BIL giant wheelchair through the snow or big lot) I think of how I wish those people were more appreciative of their healthy bodies because my BIL doesn't have one. I wish they would use their legs and walk a little further so he could not be in the cold and get his chair all wet and dirty.
Christmas night after everything is done and the 26th are the most depressing days of the year.
The 26th is my favorite! All of the family stress is over, so we usually have some friends over to day drink and snack on leftovers and cookies while the kids go crazy over new toys. So much better than actual Christmas!
