Also parking related. Clara's preschool has a massive parking lot on one side of the (small) campus, and another tiny lot (10 spaces crammed together in a horribly tight layout) for toddler dropoff on the other side of campus.
There are two toddler parents with giant SUV's (one's a freaking suburban) that insist on using the tiny lot. Then they get stuck trying to get out and ratfuck the whole lot. (That enters off a super busy street). Every. Single. Day.
If you're going to insist on having a vehicle that huge, you should be required to use the big lot only. Raaaage.
Change "SUV" to "double stroller" and you have my source of rage every day at school pickup. The entryway is only one stroller deep, and if a jackass with a double stroller opens their stroller there to load the kids in, no one can get in or out of the entire school. JUST DO IT OUTSIDE LADY.

I just came back from an exhausting shopping trip with N, put him in his crib for rest time, schlepped all the groceries in and threw them all into the fridge and pantry, sat down to relax and I see that obama's special report has recorded in place of my "the talk". Noooooo, this is a fwp for sure but boooooo
Two weekends ago nanny family watched J so DH and I could do some shopping. The whole deal was for me to reciprocate the following weekend. Well nanny mom got so crazed at work that she didn't want to do it last weekend, and asked to do it tomorrow. She asked last Wednesday. She hasn't brought it up since, and now I kinda don't want to do it. I haven't brought it up because I don't want to remind her, but knowing her she'll ask me tonight. Of course I won't back out, but this week has been SO freaking long that the last thing I want to do is work an extra day. I think this belongs in the randoms but I'm too lazy to switch over.
Can you leave j at home and just watch a so it would be a little break
It just depends on if DH gets his shopping done tonight. That's the original plan, but then bonehead Dh forgot his phone at home. He's completely twitchy without it, so I could see him saying he needs to come home and shop tomorrow.
I think there I should be reserved spots for families with infants/young children. Toting a car seat or trying to wrangle toddlers is much more difficult than being pregnant. Brought to you by the reserved spots for expectant mothers at MFM and BabiesRUs ...
AMEN x a billion!!
I like when they are both. I have been using them lately based on how I am feeling. With the spd, it is becoming more painful to walk some days.
My H has a big ass truck. I can't drive that thing for shit. In an emergency I will, but I feel like I am in Mario Kart.
Lol. My husband is usually a really good driver but you put him in FILs truck and he drives like a fool. I mean he drives it better than FIL, but it's still bad.

Mine too. I drove H's for year until I got my new car. I had a small Toyota Celica and it was low to the ground. 8 months pregnant it was very hard to get out of. Then there was no way I putting a carseat in there. I think his Tundra does better on gas then my Jeep or close to it.
I have one today I'm self conscious of L's arms in pictures. There isn't anything wrong but in photos they look like T. Rex arms he always keeps them up :/
A client slipped me a $50 today, and I confess I kept it. I always put client cash gifts in the donation box (we don't charge for services, hence the box) but justified keeping it this time because a) I saw him put something in the donation box, b) I made a lot of special accommodations for him, and c) (I'm a terrible person) he really smelled.
I also got a Marc Jacobs perfume, some lotions and scented powders, a box of Irish chocolates (the big Celebrations one!) and two bags of pancito (baked goods) and empanadas from clients today. Not too shabby!

Our church has three separate areas of reserved spots at different entrances (besides handicapped). Senior adults, visitors, and expectant mothers/families with young children. I love it.
parking in handicapped when you don't need to makes me sad :/ I would also never ever do it for fear of other people's side-eyes and just breaking the law purposes. There was a mom at my son's preschool that would do that every single day (dressed in full, super tight and low cut workout gear and not leaving any part of her anatomy to the imagination as well, but I digress) and I overheard the director one day confront her and ask her to stop doing that.

We have a normal-sized car. It has a manual transmission. I'm not great at driving it, though I'm no longer a menace on the roads. I park faaaarrrrr away from everything and everyone.
When L first started potty training, public toilets freaked her out. I used to take her into the handicap stall, so that there could be some distance between her and the toilet when it flushed. I still feel bad about it.
I keep telling people--- embrace Boxing Day! Sleep in, eat leftovers, have a board game or movie marathon, order pizza for dinner, binge watch some netflix... It's awesome and so not depressing!
Boxing Day should be a national holiday. My husband has to work this year (as a software consultant, nothing actually necessary for people's safety or well being).Â
It's a holiday here. But it's kinda PITA because that's TWO days in a row that everything is closed. FWP, I know
I very rarely park in expectant mother parking spaces but I found one at the mall today and it was glorious. I was wiped after doing that small amount of shopping.
Oh, the confession part...I feel like it's hard to tell that i'm pregnant with my winter jacket on so I unzipped it as soon as I got out so no one would think I was using the spot without justification.
I love Red Bull. In my party girl days it was my drink of choice with Ketel One and a splash of cran.
I used to drink Red Bull and chain smoke before work to get me going. It was amazing.
I've never parked in a handicapped spot but I have wished for it when taking L to school in the rain... Toting E in her car seat across the parking lot with an umbrella and a toddler.
I think people who drive Lamborghinis don't drive them for every day purposes? I won't lie.... I would love to have a pretty fancy, fast sports car.
There's a guy in my neighborhood who drives his Maserati around to run errands and stuff. I think he plays for the Cubs.
Come to think of it, I see a lot of Maseratis used around here as an every day errand car, too.
I just looked it up... Fuel economy in a Maserati isn't too bad. 17/24ish .Most of them seem to be the same as my SUV.

I don't see anything wrong with using those stalls. They are handicapped accessible not strictly for handicapped persons.
Yeah I use handicap stalls? Sometimes there is just one stall and the handicap accessible one so the line would get pretty long ...

I will sometimes use the big stall if I have Madison in the stroller so I don't have to get her out. Also, if someone who needs it more comes in the bathroom, they can make that need known and I can rush out very quickly. I will not park in a handicap spot, ever.

I was going to say the same.....
Since having L and now E I've always used the handicapped stall when they are with me. I can't fit the stroller in the regular bathrooms.
Long lines and caring for multiple children are extenuating circumstances. But I think one should try to avoid using handicap accessible stalls if other options are available. I was once in a mostly empty, multi-stalled restroom. Someone was using the handicap stall when a wheelchair-bound woman came in. By the time the person in the handicap accessible stall had finished, the woman in the wheelchair had urinated on herself. She was so upset and embarrassed. I realize that something like this happens rarely (the woman was older and was likely dealing with incontinence issues on top of other things), but it stuck with me.

This happened at my job and the person sued and won. I really don't see how LEGALLY how that happened.

I get annoyed because around here there are a lot of places that put the baby changing station in the handicap stall so you have no option but to use it.
