I don't think I'm going to either of the boys' holiday parties. Eli's teacher said something last night that bothered me and since I've been feeling so inadequate lately, I don't want to be around her. Between that, PMS, and it being in the middle of Lexi's nap time, I just don't think I can. We have plans to do stuff with them this weekend, so I'm sure they won't care, plus we were at the school last night doing arts and crafts for a while. Have I mentioned I'm ready for Christmas to be over?
Trying to justify parking in the handicap spot isn't going to make it right. Just because YOU don't see someone using the spot doesn't mean the spot isn't used. Our daycare does have several grandparents pick up the kids and they all have the placard.
I really hate when people drive big ass vehicles and then can't part them! If you are going to drive it, learn to park it, or sell the thing for something you can drive. My FIL takes like 3 attempts to park his truck and so do soooo many other people with large vehicles.
I think there I should be reserved spots for families with infants/young children. Toting a car seat or trying to wrangle toddlers is much more difficult than being pregnant. Brought to you by the reserved spots for expectant mothers at MFM and BabiesRUs ...
Our Babies R Us has signs that say expectant mothers AND mothers with infants
There actually is a definition of fuel efficient vehicle for those parking spots with a list of cars that qualify, I can't remember where at but I used to help design LEED buildings and we used those parking spots. It usually required being a hybrid or electric vehicle.
I'm a terrible friend and person I know it and I own it. A good friend posted pictures after her car was hit in the parking lot. My comment was "YOU PARKED IN THE HANDICAP SPOT AT WORK!!!!!!!!!!"
She works in a dialysis facility and uses her mother's placard (her mother has been in a nursing facility for the past 8 years and the car used to be her parents car). She claims she only parks there when she's having a "painful day". Her car was totaled, it wouldn't have been if it was in the employee spots or in other non-handicap spots. What is worse is this place also only has two handicap spots and she thought she was entitled to one of them, at a fucking dialysis facility.
Karma does have a way of coming back and biting you in the ass.

Then they need to post something saying what qualifies. They can't expect the general public to look it up. I'm going to continue to park there if I need to with my fuel-efficient-for-an-SUV car until then.
Found it finally "Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Fuel-efficient vehicles have achieved a minimum green score of 40 according to the annual vehicle-rating guide of the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy." Most cars should have that rating somewhere on their book. I'm not sure why they don't put basic info on the sign.

I can't tell you how many times I just see minivans pull in and share a spot with a car because they can't ever be bothered to pull into a spot straight. I will never own a minivan because I don't know if it is a IDGAF attitude about parking or if you lose all driving skills once you become an owner.

Lol! I have to pay to look up my car on their website.

They have a list of "meanest" vehicles. I can't believe some people get under 15 mpg!
Well there's a good reason not to buy a Lamborghini - it gets 10 mpg! Phew. Cross that off my list
But yeah I don't understand why someone would buy a car with such terrible mileage even if they're rich enough to not care about gas prices. Rich people are affected by pollution also
parking in handicapped when you don't need to makes me sad :/ I would also never ever do it for fear of other people's side-eyes and just breaking the law purposes. There was a mom at my son's preschool that would do that every single day (dressed in full, super tight and low cut workout gear and not leaving any part of her anatomy to the imagination as well, but I digress) and I overheard the director one day confront her and ask her to stop doing that.

Wegmans changed their expectant mother spot signs to include "parents with small children" it's great!
I used to get ragey when I'd see people parking in those spots without kids!

minivans are like boats! I like mine for all the space and sliding doors, but I've frequently parked further out just so I can park ok and not come close to hitting someone else. I think once the kids are all self sufficient and out of carseats I'll be downsizing again to something that handles a bit better.

Not all minivan drivers are assholes! I always park in the lines.
Those fuel efficient spots are super annoying. At least the expectant mom/ mom of young babies/ handicapped spots have valid reasons behind it. It's not like it is actually going to incentivize someone to change their mind and buy a car based on the available parking at the grocery store.

The other day I parked in a mother with infants spot. I got out of my seat and was heading to get Nolan when I heard someone yell, "you can't park there!" I was so ready to tell them off and show them the baby proof but it was just my uncle who happened to be there giving me shit.

My freezer stash is officially gone. My confession is that I sort of regret donating 100 oz to a girl I went to high school with. She just didn't seem grateful and now I could've used it.

You are speaking my language...what did you used to do?

Thank you for parking in the lines!
I know not all minivan drivers are assholes. It is just an excuse to H whenever he teases about buying a minivan. He knows that I don't like sitting high up. I once drove an SUV while my car was being repaired and I felt like I was sitting higher than my coupe's roof. I hated it, I much rather be on the floor.
