All of my orders have taken 5-7 days to be filled, and then another 3 or so to ship. They just released new products, which means it may take a bit longer than usual to fill orders.
Everyone knows that today's Ulta beauty steal is 50% off UD eye shadow primers, yes? I have two backups already waiting in the wings, but this is such a rare and good deal that it's tempting to swing by the store and pick up another one. I wonder how long that stuff can sit in an unopened tube without going bad.
I'd been debating whether to try and snag that deal because I have so many UD primer samples and the small tube that came with Ammo, but it's such a good deal that I stopped by and got one. The "regular" primers were sold out at that point, so I picked up ETA: Sin. It's kind of a champagne shimmer that looks quite a bit different than the other UD primers I have -- you can certainly tell it's there. But it'll make a good base for shimmery eyes and after all, I do have quite a bit of the matte primers, so it's nice to try something new that I wouldn't otherwise.
I think I asked this before but does anyone have other colors or palettes like the cherry/pink colors in the cherry smoke palette? They are seriously my favorite colors right now. I don't remember Naked 3 having such nice colors. What about the revealed 2 palette? Who has that? @helenabonhamcarter, don't you have both CS and Revealed 2? Are they in the same family?
for you and vanlatte and whoever else bought a certificate yesterday... have you received it yet? I'm still waiting on mine and I ordered it at noon.
Yes, I got mine about an hour after I purchased it. Hopefully you have it by now! What did you decide to buy? I went with the HG Ambient Lighting palette.

I do have both! Let me go look at it and let you know lol
Okay, yes, Revealed 2 is definitely a larger variety of Cherry Smokish colors. It's got a more bluish cherry color that's a matte and a slew of pink and rose gold type colors in shimmers and mattes. I'd definitely pick it up if you're looking for more cherries and pinks in your life. And the formula is just as nice as Revealed 1 and as nice as the UD Ammo palette if you're curious about how it compares to Naked 3.
Iirc, there are more colors in revealed 2 than in Naked so you're getting more shadow for less than Naked 3.

I got mine about 24 hours after purchasing it. LOL And I ordered the same thing!
1. Quick review of my Bare Minerals loose powders. I bought five on sale and they are a wildly mixed bag. The Beauty blush is lovely and I *think* All Over Glee may work because it can act like a blush.
The Vintage Peach blush, which everyone on the face of the planet seems to adore, is way too much shimmer and going back. NARS Orgasm does the same thing without turning me into a disco ball. The All Over Pure Radiance is also intensely shimmery, so that's going back as well. I'm not interested in blinding people, least of all myself.
I'm not thrilled with All Over Clear Radiance. I think it's supposed to be an all-over blurring/perfecting powder, but when I put it on, it just kind of gives me that old lady powdery white matte look. Reviewers say this gives them a dewy or luminous or glowing look, so I'm a little confused as to why it looks like it is drying my skin out. I need to try it a few more times, but given that I prefer less rather than more product on my face, I suspect this one won't make the cut.
2. I found a great YT artist for hooded eyes - Stephanie Lange. She has them herself so many (most?) of her tutorials focus on how to deal with hooded eyes. I've only watched a few videos but so far she does an excellent job explaining what to do and why. mominatrix

Run and pick up the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue.
I went out to the grocery store today wearing only the Complexion Rescue with a little Tarte Exposed blush and brow wiz), and a lady stopped me to tell me what gorgeous skin I have and asked me if I get told that all the time.
It made my day, especially since while my skin is not horrible, it is a far cry from perfect.
IIOY, do you have Colourpop in Bill? It works nicely with color tattoo vintage plum. Bill over the lid, vintage plum in corner and crease. The colors compliment each other and the Bill base makes the vintage plum go on smoother. Just tried it.

I ordered the Becca set from Ulta earlier in the week. Got it and love it. I was nice and shimmery all weekend. I think I need a couple more souffle's in rotation.
I popped into Ulta and tried the Stila Vinyl gloss in Scarlet Vinyl and I love it. It's a true red but as it faded it turned more a berry red instead of the crazy neon strawberry color so many reds turn on me. I went to my dad's house for dinner and even after a steak with sauce and couple of beers there was still a little color left. They're going to be half price on Thursday at Ulta and I'll be picking up a few.

Squeee my space nk order will be here tomorrow!!
I have a $75 stipend to BareMinerals. I've never used any of their products before, so does anyone have any favorites? Their new pop of passion blushes look fun. I have no interest in their loose powder foundation (I'm not a big fan of loose powder stuff, but if their eye shadow is amazing, I may relent). I may run by Ulta today to look at the stuff IRL before buying online (where I have to use my stipend).

I like the 5 in 1 cream shadows. I also have a lipstick of theirs that I like.
OK. So. I am going thru my stash. I feel like, for all that I have (which isn't as much as some, but more than others), I am missing essential pieces. Also that I should maybe ditch a few.
I'm going to go piece by piece. First, lipstick. L to R:
Maybelline ColorSensational "Born with It"
Ulta 207 "Just Peachy"
Ulta 214 "Vintage Wine"
NARS "Afghan Red"
L'Oreal "Sugar Plum"
Benefit Silky Finish "Fruit Cocktail" (which looks like it dupes "Afghan Red")
Clinique something or other (which looks like it dupes "Sugar Plum")
MUFE Rouge Artist Natural "Copper Pink"
The glosses, stains, pencils - L to R:
Sugar "Rose"
Sugar "Passion"
Smashbox "Petal"
Buxom "Katherine"
Ulta Lip Pencil "Oh!"
Ulta Butter Balm "Thumbelina"
Stila Lip Stain "Pomegranate"
Benefit Ultra Shines "Foxy Lady"
Buxom "Jane"
Above:
BITE "sable" and "rhubarb"
Below:
BITE "winterberry" and "pomegranate"
What goes?! What do I need?
ETA: How the FUCK did I end up with 21 different lip colors?!
Looks like you could use some brights maybe? If you like the bite formula, the palamino/violet duo is fun and cheap. Also how about a classic matte red?

I... don't think I can justify buying more without purging. 21, wawa!
I kinda cringe at matte lipstick. I used to have a matte red and I just... I don't know. It made me look OLD. The color was fine, but the matte formula made my lips look dry and wrinkly.

eh matte - if it's not your thing, then it's not your thing. Nothing wrong with that. But it might be worth trying a few other brands. The MAC matte formula is supposed to be the shit. Or maybe a stain would be more your speed?
Also..- really? 21? you're in the wrong place if you think you're going to get tsk tsked over 21 lip products. I think I've walked around with that many IN MY PURSE at some point in the past year. Like...uh, Friday. You're in a thread with NewOrleans here. I think she's at like 297.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I'm still a bit flummoxed as to what to do with my hooded eyes.

LOL. Y'all have to understand I am like the anti-hoarder. In everything. I've posted my household purging schedule on here before. Nothing is spared - dog toys, skin care, holiday decorations, childhood "mementos" for H and me....
I will check out MAC. I haven't tried their makeup before, admittedly. I have a Macy's coupon, so maybe I'll hit up their counter.
heyjude, I failed at Bill + Vintage Purple because, without thinking twice, the first thing I did was swipe Creamy Beige all over my lid, which is too damn dark for Bill or VP to show up. As soon as I did it, I said, "Oh shit" out loud. I did give it the old college try, and I put Bill and VP on after that. I can't say they stand out, but if you look reeeeally close, you might see some purple. ^o)

If you really want to be a minimalist, then I'd ditch any of those that you don't put on and just LOVE how they feel. I'd go by formula first, color second. You can have a basically infinite number of colors, but there are going to be some formulas you put on and just don't love. they either don't feel right, they don't last well, they don't wear well...something. If so, ditch them. mercilessly.
