Jess 2.0 was obviously the best match for Rory. I agree that Rory was better for Logan than vice versa. Also, the ultimatum at the end was such bullshit.
I love this show so much. Not enough to, like, buy a matching car or name a kid after it, but it's my all-time favorite series.
I do wish ASP had been on the show through the whole series. I wasn't unhappy with how the show ultimately ended, but season 6 and what they did to Lorelei's character makes me so mad.
Why did Lulu look so different in the end? It's like she lost a ton of weight, and she wasn't bit to begin with. I had to go back and check credits because I honestly thought they had subbed in a different actress in the last episode.
THANK YOU!
I think she had some work done to her face too. I also have a hard time believeing it's the same actress. I also refuse to believe the oldest daughter in Uncle Buck is the same actress who played the wife in Yes, Dear. They look nothing alike.
Michel annoys me to no end. I think it's totally unrealistic that he would still have a job at the Independence or Dragonfly after how rude he is to customers and Lorelai.
Oh, the unrealistic-ness of the Gilmore Girls is separate thread all its own!
I didn't really grow up watching Gilmore Girls, only saw episodes here and there. So I watched the entire thing on Netflix. I hated Logan, Rory got weird during the final years. I liked her through the start to her 1st year of college, everything after was trying too hard. I hated the ending. I put all that time and effort into the show and that's how they ended it?! I need closure.

ASP has such a clear style, that it was so remarkably different when she left.
I feel like we should discuss a piece of literature or a documentary to offset the brain cells lost in this discussion.
We could just talk in Rory/Lorelei/Dawson's Creek speech to make up for it!

Does it bug anyone else that Rory didn't make any friends until she met those art students in season 5 or 6? It seems so odd to me that Paris was the only person she stayed in touch with from high school, and they weren't even friends for a few more years. Why couldn't she manage to have one friend who wasn't Lane?

Ugh, the poor man's Louise and Madeline. They were annoying.
Apparently Lane had friends because there were some random girls along on her bachelorette party.
I never watched it when it first aired so I was going to binge watch it but only made it through 7 or 8 episodes before I give up. Has anyone watched it all for the first time recently and enjoyed it?
Enjoy probably isn't the right term in the sense that I acknowledge it's not good, but I definitely got sucked in. Currently watching season 7.
The scenes where Rory cries make me laugh they are so bad. Especially when she's meeting with the Yale counselor in Season6.
The crying was bad. And anytime she gave a speech at a party was painful to watch. "Um. Wow. Wow. Um, wow." Plays with her hair a bunch, then clasps her hands, then opens them like she's going to hug the crowd.
Her actual public speaking scenes were usually more bearable.
I just started rewatching and I never realized how totally obnoxious Lorelei is at all times. And Rory isn't interesting and has no chemistry with the guys she's dating. So, now I don't really know why I'm watching. I do enjoy the late 90s and early 2000s nostalgia though.
This is me too. I hate a lot of the characters, and it bugs me that Lorelai and Rory are always shown as being lovable and quirky when in reality they would be terrible people and incredibly irritating. Yet I'm still watching.
I think I watch because the show has snappy dialog and isn't intense. Why do so many shows have to be so intense these days?

Rory was just as closed off from everyone as her mother.

IMO, it's a side effect of being such a BFF with her mother. Putting that much time and effort into a relationship like that doesn't leave a lot of time for peer friendships. Also, those art students were horrible/annoying people and I didn't for one second believe that Rory would be friends with them.

I loved the show, but didn't have cable past the third season and never caught back up. I recently bought the series when Amazon had a crazy deal, but I'm afraid I'll find it annoying and dated now.
I love how Sookie's kitchen always has every ingredient known to man on the counter.
I always wonder what they do with all that food (assuming it's real). Does it supplement craft services for the cast and crew? Do they donate it? Deep thoughts.
