We are supposed to get maaaaybe an inch. I wish it were more for a snow day. We just stocked the kitchen today with food for a week + too, so we'd be totally prepared!!
They are predicting 24 inches plus. My work is already cancelled for Tuesday. I didn't go to the grocery store today. Whoops. I'm sending H for emergency beer tomorrow.
I don't think we're getting much. I won't know about delay until the morning. I highly doubt it will affect me despite the last forecast mentioning "several" inches.
Where the fuck do you live now, anyway? Clearly not Hawaii.
DH has an agency-wide training this week here, with lots of people flying in from the east coast. He wants them all to know "this is an anomaly!! Denver is usually under 3 feet of snow in January! Don't move here!!"
After last winter, two or three feet of snow doesn't scare me, but H is supposed to fly out early this afternoon for work and I'm terrified for him. The snow is moving into the area just slowly enough that they may not cancel his flight, and I really wish they would.
We're going to be in the sixties all week, Florida winter.
Why you gotta rub it in?! Every time the weather gets particularly bad MH likes to remind me we could be living in Florida now since we seriously considered it a few years ago. I remind him that means my mother would be living with us and then he shuts up.
It looks like we're only going to get a bit of snow here. I was hoping for a day off to crotchet and drink cocoa but no such luck. I may leave early and "work" from home if it starts to get bad this afternoon.
My dad is in the blizzard area and when I talked to him last night he didn't even know they were supposed to get snow. ^o) They're right on the coast so the snow is usually less but I expect the winds will be really bad.

I'm home with sick kids today and there is an in service day Friday I'll be home for so this week is basically a bust already.
Our president posted an email yesterday afternoon saying that the storm didn't look *that bad* so they probably weren't gonna close work. Ofcourse now it looks bad, so now he just looks like a chuckle fuck.
I'm operating my day as if it's a blizzard and not a gentle sprinkle of snow that isn't even sticking to the roads. I'm sitting here with fuzzy wool socks on, fuzzy pants and I just made myself a pot of tea.

Me too. With schools closed and the threat of daycare closing early (we were able to take DS in and we're just on standby until they call closing this afternoon. It's nearly impossible to do any work with him home), I just stayed home today. DD had a friend dropped off (so her mom could go into her fed office to get some stuff done this AM since she can't WFH for security reasons) so she's totally occupied. It's actually very nice!
We're supposed to get 1-3", and it was supposed to start around 10. We had a pretty good layer starting up by the time I got to work at 7:50 though. I brought C's snow boots with me since the parking lot will probably be pretty dense by the time I get him.
Someone on my FB joked how this is the first time the city is getting slammed while my town is so light. I feel like they haven't paid attention to the winter records for the past 5yrs or so. We used to get crazy storms, but they now all hit Philly or NYC, and we get a dusting by comparison. Not complaining.
Slightly bitchy, but I kind of smirk at all the panic of heavy snowfall in other parts of the country. Y'all shut shit down, for us, it's Tuesday.
Though, I am aware that the snow removal system pretty much anywhere outside of MN is archaic if existent. So, then my sympathy kicks in.
Eh, my honest opinion is that we can handle almost any winter storm and I doubt this will be as "historic" as they're saying*, but I think we're just more scared of the liability involved in waiting until the last minute to shut shit down.
*Please note I said the same thing about Hurricane Sandy before it hit us so WTF do I know.

I do remember a few years back it was bad because transportation and emergency vehicles were limited. That part is scary.
MN has had a ....not sure if I should finish. Don't want to jinx it... mild winter so far. Today is supposed to be 40°. Randomly it was freezing on Thanksgiving, and no snow around Christmas.
I was just saying last week how we've had such a surprisingly mild-ish, snow-free winter. LOL.
